If you are using arbitrary tools to limit jump mechanics, Why not make it a capacitor depletion?

A short jump uses a small ammount of capacitor, and reduces very slightly your cap regen for a small ammount of time.
A long jump uses a fair ammount of capacitor, and drastically reduces your cap regen for a longer ammount of time.

Making it a risky proposition to cross the galaxy (unless you first secured the exit point), yet a safe one to make short jump for defensive deployment. Wouldnt that make more sense?

Are you surprised ?

This is CCP & the CSM we are talking about, none of which ever seem to undock or do anything meaningful in the game.

CCP Philosophy: If it works, break it. If it’s broken, leave it alone and break something else.

And you wonder why less and less people are logging in????

Seriously you need to get a grip and start listening to the people that actually play the game

3) Killing pod-jumping is a giant, giant change that makes the game worse for everyone. I mean everyone, from the rawest dirt-scratching peasant in highsec mining veldspar all the way to me. It makes it impossible to go get skills easily, it makes it impossible for newbies to join their corp, it makes it impossible to decide to leave a warzone, it is a massive change and it seems to have not been thought through. Instead, this seems to me like someone thought of an issue (dread caches, not as big an issue as you think) and put in the first fix they thought of.

You know what was probably painful? The days when alliances had to put together freighter convoys through low into null and back again, because there were no easy-move options.

CCP should bring that back for a few weeks first, so that 5ly and jump fatigue seems like a blessing.

^^this

also, I've never before enjoyed tears like this. It's like I've finally won Eve after 9 years.

We also used to break up gate camps to allow newbies to enter null to get to our space. All these tears about how this will ruin the game are great. It won't break the game, it just makes you work harder. If only CCP could somehow build an isk sink into this it would be amazing.

You're young, you'll adjust. I'm old, I'll get used to it.

So I've done some of the Jump Bridge planning for the CFC for a few years. 5 LY is nothing. You have some systems that will be inaccessible to hostiles through a proper set of cyno jammers. I'd swear that some people don't even play the game they support.

Congrats CCP, you really know how to break up a hegemony. gg

So, basically, you want people to spend LESS time playing the game - and instead waiting to travel to fights?

Say I want to kill something with my blops, I

1) burn an alt to the target system.
2) Jump to the cyno, and kill the target and/or die.
3) Jump out and continue to play.

After these changes. I'm now going to have to wait another few minutes before actually being able to continue playing?

Where is brain in the box? These changes will cause a massive increase in gate travel which in turn causes massive tidi which then causes massive increase in time spent on that gate travel.

I don't mind the changes, they seem pretty good. But gate travel even for just two 250 man fleets that are about to fight each other will be a pain. Right now you can generally just bridge from your staging system to a target system which is reinforced cutting off all travel that would go through non-reinforced systems.

I might sing against the choir, but massive changes were needed, and CCP delivered, hats off. People might complain about loosing ease of movement, but I remember many people also stating that New Eden has become too small. Such changes are difficult to adjust to, especially if you thrive in / are on top of the current status quo, and any change means a negative shift towards your "privileges".

I like this direction, makes me interested in playing this game again. Should be an interesting winter.

If I'm reading the changes right and I'm pretty sure I am, this completely destroys the black ops fleet doctrine. After the first BLOPS drop and the return trip you are essentially done. They need to exlclude blacks ops portals and drives from this as, whats the point of black ops at all if you can't bridge and jump?

first jump - 1 minute, plus 4.85 minutes for the distance travelled, for a total of 5.85 minutes, or 5 minutes 51 seconds. He also gains a jump fatigue value of 5.85. - This gets a BLOPS fleet TO the fight.

second jump - In this time his jump fatigue decays down to 5.27. He then makes his next jump – 3.57 LY to LEK-N5. He gets a 5 minute 16 second jump cooldown timer - BLOPS fleet make it home

third jump - He waits out his timer, which also reduces his fatigue to 23.53. third jump.He gains a jump cooldown timer of 23 minutes 32 seconds, and his fatigue is multiplied by 5.19, up to 122.14.

These are all distances that are within reason for a BLOPS fleet.

Keep in mind that blops battleships will still have a longer range... so you could easily end up waiting 10+ minutes to bridge your fleet home, and your second drop would leave you with half an hour to wait.

Oh, man. You'll now have to carefully plan the things you want to drop on? How terrible. I mean, no more 20-blops drop on a small cruiser gang for lulz anymore? Heaven forbid!
