  • Suggestion: plugin or unplug implant without manual start/stop of skilltraining
  • Keywords: backend, database, skill system
  • Note: it's time. really.
  • ---
When ghost skilling was removed, code has to have been added to trigger a recalculation of the active skill-time; probably by simply triggering the existing pause and start functions if its any good. Yet to unplug or plug in even a hardwiring with no learning effects, we players still have to manually start and stop skilling.

This manual start/stop was required when the backend could not recalculate the skill-time, leading to various ghost skilling effects, particularly that the end timestamp of your active skill training did not change upon getting podded.

When the change was made, the half that benefited the company was implemented.
Now implement the half that benefits customer usability.

Having anyone out of FW (pirates, explorers....) go suspect if they enter a FW plex. I am sick of having to wait for a pirate to shoot first so I don't have to lose sec status. Though my sec status would show i tend not to wait!

Having overview settings include preset tabs. I have my 5 tabs set up for PvP, I don't want to change them to mine, or PvE or whatever my heart desires. Instead i would like to have a new setting with up to 5 tabs that I can customize and instantly change between the overall settings, and not just individual tabs.

Have everyone of a certain rank in a corp be able to adjust buy orders and sell orders. Not 100% but pretty sure this doesn't exist.

Have a corp subdivision in my hangar so I can tell the difference between my stuff and the corp's at times.

Suggestion: Make it so that changing overview settings affects only the active overview tab
Keywords: ui, overview, settings
Note: Right now changing overview setting modifies all tabs
---
Suggestion: Add icons to the drones window to allow performing actions now mapped to context menu
Keywords: ui, drones, settings
Note: A UI could be aligned with the context-aware targeting window
---
Suggestion: Allow adding bookmarks visibility to space and overview
Keywords: ui, bookmarks, overview, space
Note: I'd like to see if i'm aligning towards a bookmark
---
Suggestion: Allow multiple overviews with different settings
Keywords: ui, overview, windows
Note: Instead of switching between overview tabs i'd like to have multiple overview windows with different filters
---
Suggestion: Assets search should show content of containers
Keywords: assets, search, inventory
Note: I have most of my stuff separated into containers from days before item filters and assets search doesn't help me much with locating what I own
---
Suggestion: Tie computer, character and active monitor together
Keywords: ui, multiple monitors
Note: I'd like eve to remember, that my main is played on the central monitor, alt 1 on the left monitor and alt 2 on the right monitor. But only on my home computer and not on my laptop which doesn't have multiple monitors obviously.
---
Suggestion: Allow assisting drones to work on my own ship
Keywords: drones, targeting, ui, repair, shield transportation
Note: Armor repair drones and shield transporting drones cannot be used on my own ship as they need a target. Add an option of "self assist" so they can be told to help the parent ship.
---
Suggestion: Add ship owner to (POS) hangars
Keywords: ui, POS, SMA, hangar
Note: When people place ships in a corporate hangar you need to use naming system to track who owns which ship. Ship names should be variations on male reproductive organs and not used for ship ownership tracking. Add "owner" field to the ship description and make it visible in pos hangar/sma.
---
Suggestion: Add Buy-This-Fit to fittings
Keywords: ui, fitting, fits, market
Note: Open fits, click buy all, all the stuff appears in my hangar. Do not add warnings about prices too high - more scamming more fun.
---
Suggestion: Make WIS happen
Keywords: walking in stations, open The Door, guns on station, teabagging
Note: Really, make WIS happen already.

ship wrecks for individual ships. only capital ships have them now, why not a blown up rifter? it would add immersion vs. a scrap pile

  • Suggestion: Make wormhole after-jump system notifications in local keep only the latest message.
  • Keywords: local, wormholes
  • Note: Each time you jump through a wormhole this message comes up in local: "EVE System > Subspace communication beacon unreachable. Channel list unavailable." These messages clutter up.
---
After several jumps through wormholes local looks like this:
Quote:
EVE System > Subspace
communication beacon
unreachable. Channel list
unavailable.
EVE System > Subspace
communication beacon
unreachable. Channel list
unavailable.
EVE System > Subspace
communication beacon
unreachable. Channel list
unavailable.
EVE System > Subspace
communication beacon
unreachable. Channel list
unavailable.
EVE System > Subspace
communication beacon
unreachable. Channel list
unavailable.
EVE System > Subspace

Why not add an EFT to the game client itself? They could take the existing fitting window and just add a drop down list of all in game modules on one side of another that you could drag into whatever ship you wanted to build a fit for.

  • Make the science skills more relevant to the game by having them modify PI results. For example, plasma physics increases the amount of suspended plasma your extractors pull off of a planet. Or they increase your production rate (speed or units) of semiconductors. Mechanical Engineering affects mechanical parts. Etc.

  • Require null sec sov holders to maintain control of their systems by destroying rats, completing sites or killing other players. Allow the sov holders to set bounties on the rats (or players) by type of ship. (Why is Concord paying me to destroy rats 20 jumps from their nearest area of influence again? Especially if the Angels or NC runs the system?) Anyone killing rats would get the bounty from the sov holding entity while the entity receives a security increase for that solar system.

Interesting but unrealistic. That "bounties" would become an isk sink for sov holders, and holding space would become much more expensive. Let's try to count. Take belt ratting for example. Let it be 50 mil / hour for one person. Let it be just 2 hours a day. It's 100 mil isk / day for one player. Let's imagine we have only 100 actively ratting carebears. It's 10 bil isk per day, 300 bil isk per month. Even if we have only 10 (!!) active carebears, it's 30 bil isk per month to pay bounties.
Your idea is absolutely unrealistic.

If everyone stop killing npc "criminals" out of empire space, those criminals "will gather" in significant numbers and make their own incursions, like sansha. Pirate That's why. Big smile

It may be unrealistic for technical reasons but not for economics. You simply increase the potential income from sovereignty to offset the amount of rat bounties needed to maintain the sov rating. It would be a simple equation if each rat of a given type increased security by a given amount. There a few faucets you could turn on to offset.

But think about what it does to player interraction. Chiefly it forces the sov holders to secure their territory which is something that needs to be addressed and is being addressed by CCP. Secondly, think about how it fits into the relationship between landlord and renter, it allows the renter to help the landlord secure their space if they so choose in exchange for the bounty. All of a sudden the renter has a legitimate purpose to the landlord rather than just being a sheep to sheer. The ISK would need to flow both directions in that relationship and of course there would be politics and cat fights because of it. Some alliances would pay higher bounties than others, a whole industry may spring up around merc groups that secure sov space in exchange for bounties. A sov holder could engage in economic warfare by paying higher bounties for their rat kills than a neighbor and weaken the neighboring system's sovereignty claim by stealing their renters. Content and more importantly conflict would be generated.

Suggestion : Hacking Launched Drones
Keywords : Drones, Hacking
Note : Make it possible to allow you to steal someone drones if they are not paying attention. (AFK) Of course, you would become suspect upon successful theft. And say the time it takes to actually "hack" them would be between 2 to 5 min depending on your specialized Drone hacking skill.

Suggestion : Auto Destruct Hack
Keywords : Auto Destruct, Hacking
Note : If someone is AFK, you can move up to them and hack there ship to allow you to turn on their Auto destruct. of course they can cancel it after it enables, or just move away from you during your hacking attempt.

Make the Enter key activate the Play button after logging in using the launcher.

Currently, to log in, I have to:
- click in the account name field
- type in account name
- hit TAB
- type in password
- hit Enter (log in)
- mouse over the Play button and click it

I would appreciate it if the last step could be replaced by hitting Enter again. This would mean I don't have to take my hand off the keyboard for this and make logging in about a second faster. As someone who switches accounts a lot, this gets quite annoying.

Add an option to the launcher to automatically log in after hitting enter for the password. Having to click on the log in button is obnoxious.

Have the launcher check for updates whenever it's foregrounded.

Keywords: Launcher, UI Polish, Mac client

Discussion: Right now, if I leave the launcher up, put the computer to sleep, and then try to launch the game, it either fails silently or, if there's been an update, it launches the incompatible client, which fails with two modal dialogs that cascade on top of each other: the 'incompatible build' dialog and the 'new build is available' dialog.

Right now, the Launcher only checks for updates when it's launched.
