Can we fix the gates orientation in space so that they appear to jump in the direction of the destination system - right now every gate points the same direction.

While you're at it, position stargates so we're not constantly running through planets. I think planets have more awe when you warp up close to them but just feel like posters when warping through them.

Not trolling. It could be that your gamma/brightness is set up incorrectly. My monitor is wled 1080p set up for adobe illustrator. You can't really see it from the imgur link (the 8mb was compressed down to 200kb or smth).
Can someone take a look also, because if no one has noticed this maby it is smth with my setup..
I've cropped the screenshot and used coreldraw to not alter the quality, but colors are reduced to 24bit rgb (100% jpg, imgur shouldn't compress images that small.) It's visibe, but a bit blurred.

Here is also a cropped 32 bit cmyk, a sharp eye can see the squares - ingame it's much brighter and the whole image is like that: http://imageshack.us/f/254/unled5kq.jpg/

I see these heavy compression like squares ingame... am I losing it?

No, you're definitely correct about the image quality. There are compression artifacts. The devs have stated that they're working on fixing this issue.

I really want a full resolution and uncompressed optional patch for the nebulae.

What about that ?

And do you guys have some crappy moovment when you make your first 360° with camera ? Even with full FPS, it provide some kind of lag.

After flying around more and more I am starting to see just how important it is to turn the gates in the appropriate direction. I don't know how difficult this would be, but it seems like the easiest way to pull this off would be to simply point them away from the sun. As far as I can tell all the gates are in the right spot in the solar system. What I mean by this is the local star, the stargate and the destination star are all in a straight line. It should be a simple matter of pointing the gate directly away from the sun and it will be lined up.

BTW, here are some really nice shots of the nebulae I took (from Friday):

That's a cube map edge. Definitely not intended to be visible. It's on the test server, after all. Blink

As for the stuttering issue... a lot of people, myself included, are having this problem. Some things seem to mitigate the issue to some degree, but don't remove it entirely. Hopefully it'll get fixed in the next Singularity patch.

One thing I strongly dislike, in the new Nebulae as well as with the current background graphics is, that space is suddenly colored lush-green when an incursion appears.

A local incursion warning is enough, there is no need to recolor space and from an immersion perspective, it makes no sense.

....as if 10,058 Goon voices cried out and were suddenly silenced.

Yeah, the color grading is pretty weird now. Also, why are there only crepuscular rays for Incursion areas? They should be in every system now.

What about wormhole space? Will there be new nebulae specific to each region of w-space as well?

I must say it looks nice, but I would still like to say something about color.
Most of the color, blue, green, black and other look good, except one, the red seems somehow unnatural, and in addition quite tiring your eyes when you looking at her for a long time as the background, so it might not be a bad idea to remove it completely from background except perhaps for some minor parts.

I spent 3 evenings and 200+ jumps. Here's some feedback and my 20 favorite pictures from the trip.

To all worried about performance issues: I have seen no comments by users about any client slowdown. I have seen none, in fact my Mac may be running faster with the current Sisi build.

But the acid test is a mass fight. So come to the Mass test on Thursday and lets stress this baby!

Am flying around on the test server. Probably 300 jumps or more total. Nice surprise in Tenerifis. Was not expecting something that far out in 0.0.

CCP, you are doing an amazing job with the next patch. Hybrid buff, capital changes, new ships and modules, now this.

The new nebulae are absolutely stunning. I am re-experiencing my first moments in EVE when the amazing beauty of the game brought tears to my eyes.

My only question is whether you got any inspiration from Hubble's pictures.

Two comments regarding nebulas.

First, Can you make the caldari nebula a little less bland? The amarr one looks great with lots of dark filaments and various other pieces of eye candy even with the same color palette. The Gallente nebula looks nice with lots of dark shadows and that really great green color. The caldari one just looks like a blue smudge. Almost as if Bob Ross was painting his background prior to starting his actual painting. Perhaps you can add a little more shadows or perhaps some more color? Something akin to the Lagoon Nebula or The Ring nebula. If you insist on the defuse nebula you have now, perhaps you can add some enveloped stars or some bright globular clusters that aren't reachable? Something to break up the streaky blue you have.

My second suggestion/comment is that you should add a bit more variation to the maps so that the further away from the core of a nebula, the less the area is enveloped. Case in point in Niarja you are enveloped within the amarr nebula. But once you jump out, you're pretty far from it. Might I suggest that border stars have a dominating sky but not envelopment? That is to say that when you are close to a border star, the nebula dominates the sky but doesn't envelope it entirely. Now I have yet to look at all the areas and new nebulas but that was just something that caught my eye while traveling.

I originally though that Nebula upgrade was going to be a waist of time and resources, adding nothing to the game

I have finally had to take a look at the up grade. I do have to say I was wrong. It really spices up the back ground, Making the game feel more clarity of "Real". It makes the eye candy of Eve more attractive, including the lighting effects from the stars

Saw a still from another person's post of a Vagabond in combat - It looked like orginal art not a part of game play.

I have been Proven wrong again... let the self loathing begin.

Someday I will have the time to play. For now it is mining afk in High sec. In Cheap ships
