1) Locate the folder where you installed EVE. If you are not sure where that folder is, see http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_default_directories
2) From the EVE installation folder, open the folder called “bin” and there you will find the ExeFile.exe
3) Run this ExeFile.exe to start the EVE Online client

it works...

Clarification please?

On May 21, 2013, our web servers came under unusually heavy load which resulted in connection issues for all associated services that rely on the web servers, such as the EVE Launcher and the client repair tool. Our engineers have been investigating the issue with top priority and when this was written the investigation remains underway and will continue until the problem has been identified and services have been fully restored.

Are you saying that you're being DDOS'ed?

OK I see.

It's just everyone running it, it's lagged to hell.

Mine worked after about 10 tries. The repair tool I mean.

Nope. Incompatible Protocol still.

This.[/quote]

run from bin folder, don't forget to right lick it, run as admin and do all the steps above before, it worked for me at least, nothing else did

There was nothing wrong with the previous "launcher". Click desktop icon, up comes launcher window, then click button to run Eve client . Quick and painless. What was wrong with it?

I'm still buggered with today's trash update, with error logs and incompatible protocols. Come on folks, test before you deploy.

For those of you running repair.exe over and over again until something happens are you seeing an error like this when it doesn't work:

File "repairTool\repairUI.pyc", line 97, in Start
File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 199, in Repair
File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 331, in Restore
File "repairTool\repairLogic.pyc", line 389, in GetRepairUrl
File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 234, in GetRepairInfo
File "repairTool\repairTools.pyc", line 146, in SafeUrlOpen
An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host: 'http://client.eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt'>
Total Runtime: 0h02m34s

I see this every time I run repair.exe as administrator which is now close to 10 times.

Read my next reply. Just keep trying the repair tool. It will eventually work.

WE DON'T NEED A LAUNCHER!!!

EVE worked fine a year ago with out it!

If they remove exefile starting and try to force this on us they are going to lose over 100 accounts from me alone.

Really, why do we need an exe file to launch an exe file.

The repair tool is under heavy load, but it works eventually, you just have to keep running it until it it starts downloading and successfully repairs.
