Shai, I really like your pose. The crossed arms is an interesting feature to portray, but comes at the cost of face space. The pose almost reminds me of Nicolas Rush.

I like this avatar picture, here is what I think of it:

The pose is a little 2-dimensional. Try to avoid a pose that is direct at the camera, as you lose depth to a character's detail. Use more of the screen and try to use negative space to your advantage.

The shadow on the screen-right cheekbone is a little bit hard, causes a strong border that is a little heavy. It is hard to avoid because of this characters facial structure.

The screen-left eyebrow seems a little bit forced. The idea is correct, but the angle of the eyebrow is harder than it should. Soften the angle a little bit to make it seem more subtle than obvious. It is a nice touch, so keep the feeling there, but just soften it.

From what I can tell from this character, it is mischievous, with a hidden agenda. I can tell that from the character's facial expression, but it could benefit to experiment with the light choices to see if there's a way to complement this feeling. Just like the eyebrows, don't make it heavy. Just a subtle feeling of "oh, I'm a little concerned right now," whereas going 110% on a heavy dark shadow might make the composition feel cliche.


I definitely do like it. Big smile I like more what is trying to be conveyed, it can tell a story behind the character.

For Phoebus,

I enjoy the expression a lot. It's sort of a "what? you're ridiculous." expression. I feel that the neck is a little bit broken, though, but it's with the limitations of the creator. :p

You should see about moving the entire character into frame a little bit more. The screen-left side is a little bit odd, how the shoulder there seems to dissapear.

I like it, it's fun.
