When i was in gradeschool, we were on a field trip. One of the students literally shat his pants and everyone saw it. Needless to say, there was many jokes about it.

Now, imagine if a teacher called an assembly, and dragged him up on stage and gave a huge lecture about bullying. Thats what you did to The Wis. You took his personal issues, and used it for your own self-serving purposes without even considering what he would want.

This is what Mittani did and encouraged other people to do as well.

No, was just in his class laughing and making fun of the situation. You can argue that it was childish, sure. But it was all of you mittani-hatersl who decided to give the lecture and turn it into cannon fodder to use against your enemies.

This might result in his entire REAL LIFE family/friends finding out about his situation and personal issues. There is also the possibility that he may have the police show up to check on his condition. If the police are unsure, they are forced to hold him for 72 hour suicide watch. What if he didn't want this? Did any of you ask The Wis what he thought before you started posting your crap to every game news site you could find? Nope.

Perhaps you're right. I wont argue that you are wrong here.

But, my point is that YOU didnt consider the ramifications of YOUR actions ether. And infact, you made a far bigger scene and subjected The Wis to far many more people's ridicule then Mittani ever did.

Hey, I completely agree with you on that point.

Who ever decided to mail I believe it was euro gamer was a complete idiot and has the same problem as many people do in Eve and forget there is a thing called the real world and that our actions in that real world have real consequences.

If somebody found it that offensive then they should of just contacted CCP and had the matter dealt with internally.

Apology accepted.

A couple of questions, though (I will also evemail these, since it seems unfair to expect you to read through the whole effing thread):

1) Any comments on your initial reaction (the "deal with it")? That is posted on 25th at 16:01. On Sunday. Your apology is posted on Tuesday. Did it take all that time for you to sober up? Where you also drunk all the time since the alliance panel until posting the "deal with it"? Or do you have some other excuse than being drunk for the initial comment?

2) Any words to your followers, who seem to think that your behaviour was just fine?

3) If your drunken joke had not included the mention of suicide, do you think it would then have been just fine to use your alliance presentation time and your reputation in a live event to single out one player/character as a target? In other words, how far do you consider it appropriate to use your position in the player community to promote your character's goals / your alliances goal of producing as much tears as possible?

Yes. Any reporting of the Mitanni's actions is clearly not at all the fault of the person who carried out said actions. Also, the bad feelings aroused by the Murdoch press hacking phones is entirely due to the newspaper that broke the story. After all, those people wouldn't feel bad if they didn't know their phones were being hacked. Damn this free flow of information that makes people responsible for their own actions! Dammit I say!

You shoudl believe him, because he's a friggin human being, and we all make a stupid mistake in our lives. I've made numerous.

Some of you are posting based on the video game and not using common sense about how life works, and how life actually is. You are merely posting based on this stupid video game.

Mittens is a human being, and he doesn't do this kinda thing just to do it.

You are all the Virgin Mary I guess, and have never done anything to affront another person in your lives. I'm sure that's 100% correct right?

If it wasn't an issue then none of the sites that reported on this would of cared. These sites don't don't give a **** what we think or what is said on the forum as far as they are concerned it was a case of a player driven panel at a official event that was encouraging Cyber Bullying.

Oh, give me a break, the "journalistic" scum are always up for the "sensation", making up one if there aren't any readily available.

These sites don't give a flying **** what we think or what is said or about Mittens or about the allegedly suicidal dude, they care for the page visits and will blow out of proportion anything.

A dude's roleplaying bleeded into RL when he was drunk and made him say nasty things, boo-hoo, big news. At 11.

Thats point lol

At the moment in many countries Cyber Bullying and these stupid media driven stories about how computers games are making kids evil killing machines are very prevalent.

So going onto a stage and mocking somebody who was potentially suicidal was a dumb thing to do.

However it was just that.. dumb.

The person who then reported the story to Euro Gamer in my opinion has done a lot more damage to both Alex Gianturco the real life person and Eve as a game then what the Mittani did in those few minutes whilst being drunk on stage.

The condeming evidence that doesn't allow Mittens to pull the 'I was drunk' card is the fact that he had the slide, etc organised prior to FF, which makes the comments a pre-meditated act.

From CCP's perspective I don't see how they can come to any other conclusion from their investigation other than the Mittani had pre-organised to make the comments that he did. And any media outlet is going to burn CCP at the stake if they ignore this fact in their PR damage control.

See, that's the problem I have with it. This guy, who is representing both CCP and the entire EVE community, decided way before alcohol was involved to harass this guy IRL. When your in-game character spills that much into RL, it's time for CCP to give you a break.

Would you (and others) please stop spewing false statements?! The anonymous EvE Mail was in the slide. The naming of the in-game character was made at the end in response to a question and seemed spur of the moment. At no point did Real Life(TM) information on the "victim" be presented. This was also done during an Alliance panel for CEOs to talk about their alliances and had nothing to do with CSM (CSM 7 winners wouldn't even be announced for two more days (panel was on Thursday, announcement on Saturday)).

Clearly posts are not meant to be read or understood. That would require critical thinking skills and the like.

Why bother when the guy proves himslf an ass in the first sentence

To me thats like saying.. I have no sympathy for those who have cancer

Suicidal tendencies are an illness in the same way.

Why bother listening when he already proved he has nothing real or relevant ot say

Serious question. Do you read the things your write back to yourself as you write them? I have a hard time believing that you wrote something like that after considering it honestly.

Also, your "first sentence" is pretty ironic. Apparently your post contains no content worth reading either. Certainly they couldn't be using a commonly used lead in phrasing or literary common phrase. No sir, he must just be a moron, better not read the post to find out.

No, this probably would have been shrugged off as a very drunk guy in a purple wizard hat saying something stupid. The most attention it would have gotten would be 'trolls gonna troll' and business would have continued as usual. No one would have remembered this a week from now.

I know, right? You guys just mocked him on your own private forums amongst a select group of about 8000 people. And then your leader broadcast the details in public. And then called on other people to harass him.

Yes given his first comment when he learnt of it is 'deal with it'

Given he has always clearly stated he DOES NOT RP

Given he is a snake generally

I'm sure one little post is going to make attempted murder so much better
