Forum posts petitioned, the new pvp?

So, in the last week I have had two forum posts petitioned and removed with accompanying emails telling me I may be banned from posting.

Now I have been fairly vocal in the forum lately, not defending the man for what he did, he doesnt even defend himself, BUT I have been vocal about the fact it is a blatant war on here not because of what he did, but because of who he is.

THIS IS NOT WHAT THIS THREAD IS ABOUT, SO DONT START POSTING HERE ABOUT IT.

This thread is about moderation and reporting. I dont believe I have posted anything offensive, nor trolling, nor inflamatory but people are reporting my posts and I believe it is to try and get me banned because I am vocal about what I believe and it isnt what they believe.

For instance one removal was for trolling, it was in the thread about Eve, Dust and WoD, teh OP said that WoD would become the WiS of Eve and my reply to that was that I vomited a little in my mouth.

This remark is used commonly and in many places, it reflects my thoughts on WoD being what WiS will be about. I dont think it was trolling, or inflamatory, rude or offensive. The other post removed and reported didnt even tell me what it was, but I dont post trolls or offensive remarks so I dont know what it was. How many of my posts are being reported to try and get me a ban if two have been picked up, possibly for using such aweful words as vomit? I dont think the post warranted being reported.

I do however believe it is people reporting to try and get the people who dont agree with them banned form the forums. Maybe bringing this up will get me banned I dont know. I have never in 5 years had a forum post reported before this incident. If this is going to be the future of the forums, getting people who disagree with you banned then something needs to be looked at seriously.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Reported for discussing moderation...

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

I dont agree, I try and keep my posts civil and/or humorous, I think my posts are being reported to try and silence people who are disagreeing with the screaming people. I wonder how many have been successfully silenced.

I expect this will be reported and maybe ill get banned for talking about moderation, if teh meta game is really going this far, where people are being banned for speaking up about something they believe in and RL character assasination is ok then something is very wrong.

This is supposed to be a place where you debate, not where you scream down the opposition and if that doesnt work try and get them banned.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

I've never had posts removed or gotten a slap on the wrist in all my years of posting, and I do tend to tell people "how it is" at times. I guess it's about knowing the boundaries and sticking to it.

While I have no doubt there is a lot of reporting going on, some of it malicious, for what you are saying to be true CCP and their moderation team must be applying the rules based on how much they like you. I struggle to believe they'll be this ... unbalanced? Unfair? Partial to whatever is reported?

It isnt about ccp slapping wrists, it is about people reporting you, to try and silence you.

Is a post that simply says "I just vomited a little in my mouth" the kind of thing that you would say crosses any boundaries? That was the whole of my post. The OP was saying that WoD should be what Incarna is about. It was a funny reply and one that is used alot on these forums. However it was at the same time as all teh stuff about bannings of a person etc which I was very vocal about yet didnt use such insulting words as 'vomit'.

Please explain how that one line is overstepping any boundaries?

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

And that was it. With some pretty pictures. So I managed to get reported and slapped on the wrist for ... erm ... posting nothing? Lol

There's nothing 'new' about petitioning forums post to screw with someone.

I think it's kind of sad that people are petitioning forum posts in this manner, I've posted in several recent threads the OP has posted in and not been offended by their posts.

I've paraphrased this quote before in recent posts, here it is in original form

Thats exactly how I feel. I enjoy teh too and frowing of forum warrioring. There have been some very provocative forum threads that have raised alot of tempers, but I would never resort to trying to silence people by trying to get them banned simply because their opinion is not the same as mine.

But then there is something like this. I'd wager it has attracted a number of reports. Yet, as JitaAlt666 said - "Thread should be held up as a shining beacon of the eve community."

Amusing.

I'm a rude, insulting ******* who curses in every other sentence. What did you have to say to get in trouble on the Eve forum? Must have been pretty bad whatever it was.
