I launched fixer with administrative privilages two times, it worked.

But guys, seriously, I'm fellow programmer.
Test your sh‧it before you publish it. EVE isn't perl script for your use only.

I copied this from another post (credit goes to the guy who actually come up with the help). I had to go into my Bin folder and run the ExeFile directly from there. It simply bypasses the launcher and takes you directly into Eve. Works like a charm.


***ATTENTION*** -- TEMPORARY FIX

Repair and play.

1) C:\CCP\EVE\repair.exe

1a) If the repairer fails - re-run it until it completes.

2) C:\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

The game should load and let you connect without issue..

DO NOT under any circumstances re-run the patcher or this will break and you will have to do it over again.

Note - This took me about 5 minutes for the repairer to run.

Posted elsewhere but posted here as its more "official"

Also getting the Offline mode (when I disabled my proxy) error, however, with the proxy enabled I actually GET A REAL AND USEFUL ERROR MESSAGE so here it is for your 'devs' to play with:

No such domain
Your request for http://none/en?steam_token=&server=tranquility could not be fulfilled, because the domain name none could not be resolved.

This is often a temporary failure, so you might just try again.





Seriously, I'd have hoped you guys were better at writing code than Microsoft's typical "omg broke say ERROR in caps and abort" approach to error handling. Even if the real error doesn't mean anything to 99% of people, who wont read ANY difference into WHATEVER message your program produces, for the few percent who do understand anything about computers, or hell, even the sake of the bug reports to your own devs, how about you actually do something like

if (error) then print "Error occured downloading patch index - "+errormessage end
rather than
if (error) then print "QQ ERROR!" end

f* microsoft approach to error messages. do better.

i run repair exe, but not work. run eve.exe not work. work only from bin folder eve.exe :( same singularity

Still not working, can't CCP just trash the worthless launcher until they have actually finished designing the software so it will work?

Would be great if we could play EVE today. Maybe just remove the faulty launcher so we can log in?

But if they trash the worthless launcher (which is also keeping me from logging in) how would they ensure that we see our 100th ******* Dust advert of the day

So, this might sound ridiculous, but I have a seperate Tranquility folder in my C\ folder. Could this be causing my issue?

I get " incompatible (protocol) " when I try to log into the game via the workaround.

I'm impressed, I come back to EvE after taking a couple of years off, and I see once again you don't do any testing before you release your code into the wild.

Glad to see after 5 years, nothing much has changed. Bravo.

Why do we even need this launcher crap, when I push the eve shortcut I want to login and play instead of going through 15 other menus with crap that sometimes break and stop working. The launcher adds absolutely 0 functionality to the game...
