You are absolutely right. We don't care if people scam. It was COMPLETELY OK for Mittani to harras that unfortunate miner ingame. What became a big problem is that he, in front of thousands of audiences (both live and stream attendees), exhibited the best of EVE Online behavior by knowingly encouraging thousands of others to provoke a person with known suicidal tendency, to actually commit suicide.

By keeping Mittani as CSM, we are basically telling the world that it is completely ok to harras and drive others to commit suicide, and that CCP COMPLETELY SUPPORTS it!

I'm sorry, but according to MIttens, the following applies to you:

You're not a valid subscriber, you're a NPC alt. The opinions of NPC alts don't count for anything.

"Scamming and griefing is fine so long as it's not the criteria we're trying to use to get The Mittani banned, but if it fits the criteria we're using to get The Mittani banned, then THE MITTANI NEEDS TO BE BANNED!"

I'd like to chime in on this.

I suffer from clinical depression. It varies in severity based on circumstances and the given day, and will pretty much be with me for the rest of my days. I don't keep it under control by bitching and whining about it online, I do it through a mixture of happy pills, exercise, willpower, a good diet, work and routine. I have to agree with Simi that the casual use of suicide as an attention seeker or threat, especially online, only reinforces the stigma about depression not being a disease but a character "defect". People who do this trivialize what isn't trivial, and he/she deserves the abuse they received.

Ultimately, when I was at my zenith, only I could pull myself out. Only I can beat back what Churchill called "the black dog." I will graciously accept the help of family and friends but in the end it's my responsibility to manage my depression and keep buggering on. What I will not do is attempt to guilt trip others, especially strangers, into feeling sorry for me. That is simply pathetic.

Damn your perspective and logic!

I'll just add that I went through a period of severe depression myself years ago (bad breakup and consequences). It was not a good time in my life. The hardest part was bringing my family together and letting them know what was happening.

But you know what? If, at any point, I had told my family that I was considering killing myself over a ******* video game, my father would have handed me his gun and said "Don't make a mess in the house".

There's a huge difference between "cry for help" and "whining drama queen". People need to get some perspective in their lives.

**** this PC bullshit. It was a joke in poor taste, last time I checked that's not a crime. And to be frank, if someone actually kills themselves over this then good riddance.

It may not be crime but you have to look at this way. SCUMBAG Mittan is a CSM member the chairman nonetheless this is a position even how much of a scum bag he is should have showed better control over his mouth but spent time talking as he pulled **** out of his ass or was it his mouth. either way asking a community to email bomb this guy was in poor taste and he should step down but something tells me with all his alts he has been using to post on here to derail everyone from the scene will never happen.

Maybe he will be reminded if he is a lawyer like he says his conduct in the community could possibly be brought to the attention of his peers lose his job or possibly losing his pretty piece of paper that allows him to practice law.

All credit to mittens for making a sincere effort to address his foolish behaviour, which was not needed according to his acolyte Ladie Harlot.

Boy, I bet ladie harlot feels foolish right now.

Once again,
I will only say this,
presidents and ministers of real life countries resigned for smaller things.

And, "I cheated my wife, but i was drunk, so its ok" does not pass any more with women.

truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Yes he finally decided to issue an apology, ONLY AFTER his precious CSM Chairmanship was threatened and various news media coverage brought a NEGATIVE spotlight on EVE Online.

In earlier postings, Mittani the Great even tried to lie by telling others that he never said anything about encouraging suicide.

He is pathetic and CCP allowing him to hold the CSM office only shows that CCP also endorces cyber-bullying and encourage players to proactively drive people with suicidal tendencies to commit suicide.

Are you just telling us that you are STUPID? If it was Mittani the Great's alt and the whole thing was a play, then he is in a worse position than right now, to lead CSM. Sometimes, I don't understand you and several others' logic. Seriously.

No matter what CCP will have to do something about The Mittani because of this. Otherwise lets face it 6 months down the track someone will kill them selves and some sleazy lawyer in the United States, will find out the person tried the trial account and played for 2 weeks. Discover the forum posts or news articles and sue CCP over causing the death, via their apathy to suicide. Or worse someone could follow this path again and be serious.

I don't think he should be banned but they have to do something strong.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

I'll have you know that it is more likely to be a sleazy Swiss lawyer with a history in banking.
