Personally, while I can stand Michael Bolton's fratboy shenanigans, This makes me embarrassed to be an eve player.

This is not the type of media CCP wants brought. Scams, and losing isk is one thing, the harassment and potential death of a player, is a whole new level of morally bankrupt.

I imagine most of those defending mittens have never lost someone close to them to suicide or dealt with death in any significant way.

His antics, while arguably borderline sociopathic, speak more to his immaturity and childishness than anything else. You know who else doesn't realize the impact of their words, 12 year olds and teenagers looking for attention.

I see no evidence that this person is actually suicidal, and not just another dumbass trying to sympathy himself out of a hole.

If you're a pirate, over the years, you will receive several "OMG im suicidally depressed because you blew up my bantam" evemails.

To my knowledge, none of them has ever killed themselves.

poor taste maybe, but it's not like he stabbed a man.

Back in my day we called that "hazing," and in the military it was commonplace. However, nobody actually pushed anyone to suicide in my unit. Even the washouts who went on to such thrilling careers as "alcoholic," still seem to be around. I have no idea what you're on about. I guess you grew up near a water source tainted with lead and/or mercury?

While generally I'm very supportive of what the goons are doing, and a huge part of the appeal of the game for me is in the fact that you can be as big dirtbag as you want to in the game and you'll get applauded for it, there's just some lines that should never be crossed. The biggest of them is taking it personal and attacking the people behind the nicknames and not the game characters. Could've it been just a thoughtless comment made after couple of beers too many? Maybe, but I doubt that CCP can look the other way at all when it comes to a person that is in position of representing all its playerbase. Similarily there was a huge outcry of a neo-nazi candidate, coming from the goons themselves nonetheless, and now they're defending their own leader, who has shown just as much respect for human life as the nazi's did in the past?

And to think that at one time I actually considered the invitation I received to join the goons, and none of that 500M entry fee bs either....

No of course not. I am just seeing floods of support from Mittani the Great's fellow Goon members who are only doing so out of loyalty.

When they look beyond the loyalty, they will see that he is a guy who is responsible for single-handily tarnishing our beloved EVE Online's reputation in a single day.

There are some Goons who see reasons and are actively expressing their disgusts. He was a great leader who eventually brought more harm than good.
