Yep, getting similar dropouts after one of the more recent patches, makes playing the game impossible from any angle aside from station trading really

Happening to me too every couple of minutes right now. Makes EVE unplayable. I'm in the US.

Guys, thanks for the bumps. Please try and document the issue a bit more thoroughly if possible. When did it start? How often does it happen? What happens exactly? For example, on mine I always just get kicked back to the login screen. Then when I try to log in again I get this error "socket closed". Some guy in my corp will sometimes see the socket closed error when he gets kicked off, instead of just when he tries to log back in. More info will make it easier for CCP to try to help (if they even try).

You can also run LogServer.exe from the EVE home directory. Run if BEFORE you run the game client. When it crashes, save the workspace and upload it to a file hosting service like Rapidshare and post the link here. I haven't had much time to look, but it would be nice if we could narrow it down in the log to where it's happening.

Also, KEEP BUMPING THIS THREAD - CCP can't ignore us forever. File petitions in game or on the site. This isn't some small group of people. For every person posting there are going to be dozens or hundreds that aren't. This has been going on for years, and they need to pay attention.

I am not sure if I am having the same issues, but it sounds fairly similar.

The first issue, whenever I am using autopilot, the game logs me out after 1-2 jumps. Not sure if this is normal, or something else but I have never experienced this before.

2nd issue is a hellacious increase in lag. I have never seen lag like this before in EVE, dunno what is causing it but I know it's not on my end. Another thing to tackle onto that is every hour or so, I essentially lag out. I'll be mid fight and all of a sudden I will notice health not going up or down and nothing is changing. It's essentially a lag out, i keep moving, and numbers keep changing on distances, but nothing is actually happening. The only way I have found to fix it is to just log out, then log back in.

It's quite frustrating. Any guidance, help info would be great.

Zaphena,

Your issue sounds more to be like a connection issue. I would check for packet loss. You can do a ping test by going to command prompt and typing in "ping google.com -n 1000"

Once it finishes it will show sent = 1000, Received = xxxx

If you receive less than you send, that is a lost packet. Run a few times to see if you need. A normal connection will drop anywhere from .05 to .5 percent depending on distance, quality, etc. If you are getting over 1% lost contact your ISP. If ping test looks fine do a speed test at www.speedtest.net Make sure you are getting what you should be. If not, contact your ISP.

Basically your issue seems to be connection related and not what we are seeing here.

There could actually be multiple issues at play here. This thread is around lag/disconnections since 1.5 was deployed :)

There is definitely some network flakiness going on as per the traceroutes shown here, but there's a client issue too. As many people have reported, that they can have multiple sessions, but only one seems to have an issue. I'm finding this to be the case around 50% of the time.

What I don't understand is why A) the "network" issues seemed to have started around 1.5 time and B) if it's a network issue, why does it not consistently kill all sessions on a single machine, not just some as stated above.

Please CCP, take a look at this, it's extremely frustrating. For me personally, I've got 5 accounts and at this rate, they'll all be going on hold at renewal time if this persists.

Same issue. I run three separate client instances on two computers. Teamspeak also running to a server in the US. (I'm in Aus.)

All three clients will stop communicating at same time, teamspeak keeps going. While it's going on (generally about 20 seconds) I can ping other web sites, teamspeak keeps working, but pinging www.eveonline.com times out. When www.eveonline comes back (I.e. I start getting echo responses) the clients recycle (log out and restart) and I can log back in.

Started in last 4 or 5 days for me. Seriously annoying.

Any info/ideas appreciated.

Yeah same issue here. Based in Aus, and am randomly losing connection to the server. If I have multiple clients going I usually lose all of them at the same time. My route is as follows. The packet loss starts at #9 for me whenever this problem occurs.

Here are ping plotter results:

http://i.imgur.com/2zqpW.jpg [the red bars are the % of packet loss, the thick ones are where the dropouts occur]

i have had the occasional random dropout in my time of playing eve, and it has never irked me in the slightest, but at the moment i can guarantee it will happen once or twice within every hour of playing.

I will be dropping my subscription till someone pulls their finger out. as it is pretty much unplayable at the moment. With the frequency of dropouts, i cant really leave the station with any degree of safety.

Have sent email to ISP and also to CCP, surprise surprise, CCP have not bothered answering at all yet...

Just did the ping google trick and I have 0% loss. No losses recorded in 1000 hits.

I think the best part of this little issue, is that it seems to always happen at the worst time, like mid battle, or mid flight in a low sec area. I really hope this issue is resolved in the near future before I lose millions in ship/fittings because a game I pay for isnt being correctly worked on.

I've messaged 2 CCP employees and one GM from the forums asking them if they could take a look at this or forward it to a more appropriate person. Hopefully that will get some response. I've got 3 accounts that are basically useless right now. Please keep posting and get the word out to your corps/alliances/friends and keep this thread bumped and keep filing petitions.

Edit: I actually got a reply to my petition. They are requesting ping plotter info. Will update them with that info tonight when I'm off work, and will update you guys if I get any more information.

Yeah, same, i have been given the automated 'install pingplotter' response as well, if they had of actually read my petition past the title they would have seen that i had already done that.

Regardless of that, it is actually nice to finally get a response 'of sorts' even if it is automated.

I have also pointed them to this thread, so hopefully they will get on it.

So, i've been monitoring ping plotter results, everything is fine, few packets dropped here and there, eve runs smooth, and then my client drops out, checking ping plotter results while this happens, i notice that i get a solid block of packet loss, and it climbs ONLY in the last 4 hops, 3 of them being CCP's own servers, and the jump between CCP and the router ahead of this [195.219.67.246] the percentages only climb on those 4 hops, none other [image] http://i.imgur.com/I47M5.jpg

Seems someone was having simlar problems back in 2011>

http://community.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1461414&page=1

and CCP eventually rerouted the server and fixed the problem... if you are having problems, make sure you petition it

Same for me... got the pingplotter response. Will do the same as with the traceroute though, have it ready to fire as soon as I drop; usually all traffic for me to CCP's sites dies for about a minute or two, hopefully enough to capture something useful. Suggest everyone else does the same :)

Also in Australia and also having the same connection loss issue. Like Bending Unit above, I've noticed that I'm getting an error message in Chrome saying it can't find the forum if I'm also on that page at the same time.

I've installed PingPlotter and will submit a petition once I have the results.

Another Australian pilot here having issues.

I've had it all week and it's getting annoying, as it'll just sit in space and look normal, then I'll eventually notice that my guns aren't damaging anything, or my flashy red module has been flashy red for about 3 cycles...

My issues:

Slow to log in. Seems that the network traffic is slow.

Enter into play. Windows take time to update. I look at th in game monitor (Ctrl alt shift m) and there is no downstream traffic, or it is slow from the server. It usuallly stops updating anything after a few minutes, then the client crashes to desktop.

This has occured to me just after the last patch as I have had no problems before this.
