Mines - F'n a brah but I think we are getting those back. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but the drones and mines are coming back.

Snowball Launchers - I had 11 in my hanger and now I have... 11. Yah it looks like snowball launchers were NOT removed. I had both the versions of snowballs and there was only one version of launcher for both releases so there should not be variations in who got there's removed and who did not. Snowball launchers are still in the DB so if yours are missing check your assets and if they are still missing I guess submit a petition... because you should still have them.

Edit - Inventory Check Ammo:

Melted Snowball MMVIII: 1467

I have lost none of my few collectibles (I am not a collector after all) but I can see how it'd be massively annoying for those who spent years and billions into acquiring them.

I think it's time to add this term to EVE's slang: "to CCP"

Definition: when something you owned mysteriously disappears as if it never existed. It can occur via cop theft, the owner accidentally trashing it, the owner blowing it up while drunk out of their mind, etc.

Usage examples:

  • "Holy crap, looks like our corp's 1000 Drakes and a bunch of other stuff was CCP'd!"
  • "Whoops, accidentally hit "self destruct", ship done did CCP. Didn't want that titan anyway."
  • "Hey noobs, did you know there were cool items like mines in the game? D'oh, of course you don't, EVE's history in the form of rare items was CCP'd in 2012".
  • "Remember there was this cool spaceship game, EVE? Too bad it got CCP'd"

(Alternative definition: to sweep something under the rug and never speak of it again.)

Maybe give them back as "Disabled Mines" or some such? Just saying...

It knows what you think.

Hell they could label anything that has instances in the game but is unused with the [Collector's Edition] flag, or something equally pseudo-clever, so that these items are easily recognizable for that they are by both dev and player. Would prevent this kind of nonsense in the future too.

I love how we are actually the ones begging the Dev to flag such items for dev's own recognition in the future. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

CCP you are just ******* up all over again with this kind of stuff, this is exactly the kind of arrogant behavior that messed up your previous expansion, maybe you should look at what you are doing at those plaeyrs that do collect items.

Rock and a hard place - a part of me is subdued to give CCP time since they had the whole fan fest party to play out but another part of me is annoyed that CCP seems to be stalling or hoping the whole is forgotten. Whereas I did not have any of those rare items, I would be ticked if anything of mine was casually dismissed and removed due to lack of information.

Would a week's time be acceptable to allow CCP to make things right? I've been blasted and knocked out for a day or two, but not a week. So that should give them enough time to recover from any hangovers and correct these mistakes... P

Agreed...how can 1 person have the power to affect the whole game, without having to consult with anyone?

Not sure why it takes so long. I'm sure that CCP have backups of the database.
They exactly know what they removed.
So take a query of the objects from the backup, and with that info just script it to create it to the live db.

We know CCP want this buried, but did they really have to conspire with The Mittani to create such a **** storm that this was pushed back to page 5?

Very much looking forward to another CCP update here...

I wrote this a week ago & held back on posting it because it sounded like our items were going to be restored quickly. As it has instead been swept under the rug, I hope this will bring focus to what is really at issue here. Please excuse the ::WALLOFTEXT::.

Great points here.

Fist: ATTENTION ALL!! Greyscale is back to work, since he is already answer some question at another topic. So, let´s try to bring his back this topic too.

A agree with all quoted, and with Entity and practically with all here. All items owned by players MUST return to game. That is the most important point.

They should not call the player base bot/cheater/etc because you work hard to get a unique item. Do not matter if the item come to TQ because of some mistake/misbehave of a CCP employee, that items were acquired by legal game player and we should never be stolen from us.

We demand our unique items back. Fanfest is over, and CCP is back on track. It is time to get back to work to put our stuff back in our hands.

What's more, how about not just returning items but instead ensuring the internal procedures follow simple formula;

Thinking about messing something that players own?
1. Check via internal tools/statistic department how big % of playerbase is affected, both subbed and unsubbed.
2. If percent more then 10%, make silly thread to eve-o about it, where peeps can flame/go nuts over it, important part is that they know beforehand something is in the pipes.
3. If percent less then 10%, check whether said item/feature/gfx has any gameplay stats that can be used in ships, production, whatnot.
4. If found on player accounts nerf them to be unusable, unfittable OR their end products to be so, retaining bpo functionality but killing the result.
5. Consider whether actual deleting instead of being done unusable is worth the bytes, it's not like CCP is short of them. Aka I'm sure Entity and other collectors would be just fine and dandy if they never could *use* their legacy collected pieces for anything, just that they exist.

Important part is to ensure there's guidelines in place for future, I mean you put server restart button behind glass after certain incident...

As for

No, T20 bpo's were not fine, there's fine line between gm event "jovian leg piece" and t2 bpo. One actually has huge gameplay ramifications where other is just hangar item xyz with different name, picture and description.

T20 has nothing to do w/ this. He hacked into systems and broke some other rules. I'm inclined to think the item deletion thing is an honest mistake. People who keep random high value nick-knacks in their hanger aren't always able to be heard over the roar of alliance ragers. I'll help keep this thread alive as long as it takes. I'm pretty confident that CCP isn't trying to spite anyone. They just need to get around to this. Until then... *bump*
