apparently this is what i did to correct the problem ---

im still on WIN XP tho

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.xxxxxx\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP

--> DELETE ALL EVE DATA (ihave tried shxtload of eve versions and i deleted about 2.8Gb)

F:\EVE\bulkdata

--> delete all bulkdata

use the new 345 repair tool

it completes WITH errors and block adding imcompletes

....

then miraculously launcher runs ... so folks out there give this a try ...

i assume that there is alot of loose data patches which are intereferring with new data ... and even so ... new data streaming implementations which are not well implemented ... (aka ur so called block missing trying to fill it back up technology)...

--> i blame the head of department for forcing such a timelime and of course HeLLMAR ! programmers make this game, if you remake programmers, you get car crash.

now then ... lets see if SISIlauncher will work .... *cough cough*

i spoke too soon .... the earlier block adds which are failed attempts to add ?

EVE now refuses to run because the repair tool is unable to add the blocks succesfully ...

NEW REPAIR tool = fail !

please read back the previous post on block add failures.

repair tool was re-run ... no use = same block add failure
i assume this is a server failure to supply the correct block after the repair tool ID the block missing ?

YES my skill Q is running out in 11hrs 45 minutes ... i will like CCP to compensate accordingly if this DOES not gets resolved

so it seems i must run repair tool ... a large number of times so that it will randomly try to access certain files (from server?) to repair parts of the broken blocks .... so that will mean the blocks access from server is not 100% available for download during ALL the repair tool request = lead to incomplete repairs all over?

now after running all these repair tries (which it says repair is done WITH errors) ... launcher launches w/o a glitch ....
launcher connects to TQ etc etc
but as game launches ...

this is the error
www (dot) facebook dot com (slash) photo (DOT) "php?fbid=287870964615558&set=a.115392241863432.15901.100001779700176&type=1&theater"

amazing thing is ... the error list now is half after running the so many iterations of repair ....

does repair work? ===> KIND OF ... -____-"

so ima try and run repair 18 more times and see how this error list goes ... -____-"

8+ Hours trying to get this to work

I have run the repair tool several times. I added all the eve execcutables on protocol filtering exlucion list on nod32

After reboot the repair tool says this

However when I click play.. _PyFreeTypeP.dll error is given.

on the (18th+) 8th run i disabled my AVAST antivirus and live weather report.

the repair still patched with errors. BUT the launcher launched EVE. ???
what is EVE doing to our PC that requires us to disable AV programs ?

OK the game works ... after 27 tries ...

try these for those having problems
delete bulk data
delete all system application data
use that repair tool "345" .... shxtload of times
disable antivirus
disable weather report program
CHECK your internet MTU for packet problems

SO all in all, the repair tool process CAN BE affected by other programs that uses the internet. so my take is .. DISABLE ALL programs that may use the internet so that repair can do its work ALONE. id say that CCP is using a very BADLY implemented version of file block repair ....

the turning point was disabling anti virus. that 2 hours ... i like to be reimbursed for 2 days of SP ! :p

right guys...ive got on, and this is how.

firstly these are my comp specs

Operating System
MS Windows XP Home 32-bit SP3
CPU
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 48 °C
Brisbane 65nm Technology
RAM
2.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 373MHz (5-5-5-18)
Motherboard
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. M61SME-S2 (Socket M2) 35 °C
Graphics

1024MB GeForce GTX 550 Ti (ASUStek Computer Inc) 30 °C
Hard Drives

Optical Drives
ATAPI DVD D DH16D2P
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S202J
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio

now...what worked for me:
go to your CCP folder...then the EVE folder...then the bin folder..theres an eve.exe there, use that to start the game.

Worked for me, hope it works for others.

We shouldnt have to do this for a game we pay for, high standards are expected from game manufacturers and they are the professionals in this, im just an end-user.
When i buy a game i expect to install it and run it automatically without all this sh*te.
Yes CCP and all the Devs, you do have a wonderful game here with high end graphics and great gameplay BUT it does seems to many of us that your testing of new content is severly lacking.
Listen to these guys that have posted here and stop being so blinkered in your approach to introduceing new stuff.
You NEED to get it right BEFORE you introduce it to us, SISI isnt the only tool you have to test all new patches etc..you must test this to destruction before joe public sees it.
I pay 15 euro PER MONTH for this...and i have 4 accounts..i love the game and all its possibilities, BUT...things like this should not happen.
Roll the launcher back...test it in many countries on many differing machines..fix the problems then hand it back to us, working (for everyone) and you'll hear us singing your praises..

yours..

ITS BROKEN AGAIN!

Do you REALLY expect your PAYING CUSTOMERS to redownload 4gb of data everyday?

NO Reply at all to petitions.

Does CCP tech staff sit around in cloakies all day like morale officers? Cos its working!

We didn't need a new launcher and you gave us one that broke our game. Seriously. You've not learnt anything from incarna have you?
