Update to the Launcher and the repair tool - Fix inside!

Emi, this worked for me and its really simple to do.


Still not able to connect this morning after trying repair.exe, /bin eve.exe. I just had a look in the folder mentioned above. I only see 2 text documents labeled launcher(date) and TQ launcherinfo, an application and a YAML file. None of those mention the checksums or client validation anyplace.

Diden't work for me.

PS. CCP Atropos i tried clearing the catch in the launcher many times and it did nothing thx for no help im | | close to canceling my accounts.

I have this problem every update and had been been fixing it by doing the cache clearing tips but that stopped fixing it and the last 2 times i've got it going by choosing the 'Reset Launcher Settings' blue link in the bottom of the launcher. I then close the launcher and when it starts it verifies straight away. I don't why it works because i don't change the settings anyway but it does the job so far.

CCP kindly dismiss your director for updates!

Almost any other game on PC and PS4 is able to run smooth upgrades, sometimes even without nocite to the user.
Only CCP is unable to do so!

Now for the third time in 1 month I completely need to uninstall eve since the launcher AND repair both get stuck over and over again. Extremely anoying.

Last time I was already fedup and cancceled my paid sub, I guess this time I will just uninstall and leave my eve account alone.

Well done CCP. Lost a 2500h player.

I uninstalled the game, reinstalled, and got it to working.

Protip: I really should not have to do this, CCP. Sad

Ok 1st for those whom need the details which for some reason I can't or not allowed to post just look at the link. I would like to know what it means and how to fix it. for last week I have been fighting this issue with no luck. barely was able to make my first character now I didn't get my copy of eve from ccp but steam so far neither has given me solution to this bug. all I want is patch my game so I start playing if this goes on for to much longer I will start demanding my money back both CCP and steam.

Installed and re-installed EVE multiple times. But nothing happens when trying to launch the game. Launcher doesn't come up or anything. Any ideas?

I have to say, the last couple of patches have been Uber Painfully slow. Twice now I've unistalled and am now trying to once again install Eve, which is very sad to say. I am not sure why CCP you chose to allow something like to happen with a slow turn around on a fix. Then i do feel sorry for the dev's that monitor these post and have to regurgitate what their bosses tell them to say in order to try and placate us masses in these forums. Please lets get this fixed and move on Please. From a very loyal player.

Hello!

The Problem:
-I have been having issues with the launcher for 3 days now.

-It kept "launching" the game but wouldn't actually launch anything.

-I even tried opening the eve.exe file in the CCP directory, still nothing.

The Fix:
-I fixed it by going to c:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\launcher\cache

-In that folder I deleted the 3 files manually;
1.) browsercache
2.) checksums
3.) client_validation.


-Now when the client validated 100% and I logged in and launched the game it works perfect.

-Hope this helps someone else in my same position!

I have had the Mac Eve client fail problem a few times.

I Fixed it recently by correcting the Drive E variable in /Users/[myusername]/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/config file

it was:

[Drive E]
"Path" = "@TMP@"
"Type" = "hd"
"Label" = "tmp"
"Filesystem" = "win95"

Changed path value to "/tmp"



Long answer:

I executed cider, from /Applications/EVE Online/Contents/Resources/EVE Online/Contents/MacOS/cider

which errors with:
Could not stat /Users/MYUSER/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/@TMP@ (No such file or directory), ignoring drive E:
Invalid path 'e:\tg-MYUSER' for temp directory: does not exist

which gave me the clue where to look for the fix. Found @TMP@ in the config file in that folder. An old file config.old had the value /tmp/ in it, and that worked fine.

yesterday i got a verifercation error with the Dx.dll file (bin folder), i ran the repair tool and it worked, today it did it again, ran repair tool and nothing deleted said Dx file and the ones above and ran repair tool once it validated it worked..... i suppose i'll wait and see what happens when i close it and open it again....

FIX :

- Start the launcher. Laugh/cry as you realize it is a useless, broken piece of **** which cannot update your game.
- Run the launcher again, just in case. Observe the same result.
- Start the repair tool. Laugh/cry as you realize it is a useless, broken piece of **** which cannot update your game.
- Run the repair tool again, just in case. Observe the same result.
- Contact EVE support. They will tell you to use the repair tool.
- Run the repair tool again, just in case. Observe the same result.
- Ignore EVE support.
- Uninstall EVE. Nuke everything EVE-related from your HD.
- Download the EVE installer and install everything from scratch.
- Repeat twice per year at each "expansion" release.

i have dowload the game via torrents istall and the lancher is dead nating

use repair get errors and send me two forums for help

use game exe and the game start have all acconts up for now

Hi everyone, here's a fix that worked for me to solve the launcher.

I uninstalled all my programs that had a proxy integrated in them.

I uninstalled Spybot (you can also just disable the proxy that comes with this program) and my Asus wireless utility (the little program installed with my asus wireless-usb key), I only install the driver of my asus and do not need the utility program which seems to be conflicting with the eve launcher.

I tried everything, everyone suggested and nothing, i repaired, deleted, re-installed, cried to support, punched a bunch of stuff...none of it worked! i even yelled at the screen! when i launch it comes up with a blank launcher, stating it cant connect or the page or it's no longer there...i played my trial and then paid for time, i have about 2 days played this month and problems the rest...can i get some reimbursement or what?

if you cant find it goto search box on start menu type in evefile.exe

my launcher is failing to update to the latest version (worked fine yesterday). i ran the repair app thing and got this message:
There was an unexpected error while retrieving update status:

Unable to download file /590158/evepremiumpatch590158.exe from the server.
Error: url //cdn1.eveonline.com/590158/evepremiumpatch590158.exe not found

any suggestions?

When I started the Eve launcher todat, it stopped at 2/4 at about 30 %.

it seems the launcher crashes, triesd it al least 4-5 times.
