Update to the Launcher and the repair tool - Fix inside!

Got a similar issue as above with the launcher just hanging after showing the launch screen. Sometimes the login button does not have its text filled out, other times the UI just does not respond. There is no crash dump to send.

As far as I can tell the launcher just stopped working on the morning of the 8th. The only thing that has updated on my PC recently was Steam. Even if I shut that down, though, it makes no difference.

EVE itself runs fine if I do not use the launcher.

I'm experiencing this too. Have tried to use the repair tool, removing all my CCP User data, running the eve.exe from it's install directory... nothing seems to work.

I've got a similar issue - my launcher is not working since 1/8. I'm running version 2.1.655130.

I've tried running the Repair tool to no avail.

So I followed this procedure ... and the launcher just disappeare from the screen. Now i have no launcher at all it seems. Shortcuts do not work, nor going to the launcher file location direct.
For some reason I managed to log in through the Bin though I had tried this previously and it would not work. But as to where my Eve Launcher has gone ???

How do I get my launcher back???

Which procedure did you follow?



I cleared the cache data - rebooted a couple of times - the luancher has returned but the problem still persists. It doesn't crash, it just opens and thats it - nothing else

TL;DR - re-installed eve online to fix launcher crashes


If it's any consolation, I had this issue with Launcher freezing and took the following steps:


  • Restarted Laptop
  • Ran repair tool
  • Restarted again
  • Ran repair tool again
  • Tried to look for the short-cut direct to game to circumvent launcher (didn't exist any more from what I could see)
  • Submitted support request


After 24 hours and two accounts already not training for around 20 hours I got bored and just re-installed the client.


  • 2 minute to uninstall eve
  • 10 minute download (5.54GB)
  • 5 minute install (mainly extracting files)
  • 30 seconds to have three accounts live and running... Priceless



When uninstalling, at the very end it will ask if you want to delete settings and cache data, I DID NOT DO THIS, and all worked fine. Situation may be different but just wanted to share my 2 cents.

Same problem here ... noob question: how do you bypass the launcher to run the game?

Same problem here ... noob question: how do you bypass the launcher to run the game?



C:\Program Files (x86)\CPP\EVE\bin\evefile.exe

This is the way I have to launch EVE, they haven't fixed the launcher freezing yet. Every day, I run the repair tool hoping it downloads a fix.

I've been unable to reproduce the problem with the webpage stalling and you've already said that you've cleared the cached data in the EVE Launcher, so I'm afraid I've no suggestions on what you might do to fix the problem.

As a final idea, you could always try and re-install the EVE Launcher, and see if that fixes anything. It's available to download from here: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/EveOnlineLauncher/release/EVEOnlineLauncher_2_1_655130.exe

OK,
Need some help soonest. Post Rubicon 1.1 patch my launcher kept giving me an error message about being unable to connect to the server. My connection is good. Tried to run repair tool. Got immediate error message. After running through the threads NONE of the patching issues appeared to apply. Uninstalled EVE. Could NOT get it to download automatically from the official page. Manually downloaded the offline files. It reinstalled but now I'm getting OFFLINE MODE error message. Ran repair tool again, same error message...if haver reinstalled numerous times...same issues returns. On top of that...when logged into support page to drop a ticket, it failed to send and appeared to simply hang up there...DOES ANYONE have any idea what train wrecked on my system and how to fix it

Why are you worrying about a webpage? who cares about the webpage.
How about fixing what you guys obviously broke? I am posting everywhere I can, there are people just like me in the same boat. The game worked fine yesterday, now it doesnt. Nothing is wrong on my end.
Now I cant even reinstall the damn game, I have explained in another thread to people asking questions, again, ITS NOT MY computer, its your patch.
Roll it back or something, but first, I would sure love to know how I can reinstall a game, that I have to get from the internet, since I dont have any discs, and your installer is failing.
Nothing any of these people have talked about is working, and I cant try anything even new, cause it wont install.

this is the error when the launch will not load up. cause most people to just use bin file to get into game. this happen to me several time i have to shut down relaunch servertimes

I noticed some people on the forums are having the same issue as me. When I log in and press "PLAY" from the launcher, nothing new opens (although it spawns a new exefile process). I tried launching the game directly from inside C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin: no luck (although that also spawns a new process). I tried the repair tool: no luck.

I also tried the launcher update download link that CCP posted above: no luck.

Finally, I gave in and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the client. Still no luck. I am running 64-bit Windows 7. This has been going on for at least a day or two now. Given the number of people having the same problems on the forums, it is clearly a problem with Eve, not with anything on my side. I respectfully request that CCP start focusing on this (doesn't seem like there has been much CCP response on the forums yet) and that those affected by it are reimbursed in both game time and skillpoints. We are paying good money to play this game, so please stop ignoring this problem and start taking it seriously.
