Please say if Launcher 1.06 is somewhat retired by now. My 1.05 version does not upgrade to 1.05, being that SiSi or Tranquility

Is 1.06 existing version currently?

I notice a lot of the Win7 user's posts are left unanswered.

Don't get me wrong I know you just don't come up with a solution like poof right away.
But atleast let us know what's going on and if you are going to let us patch manually or we have to wait it out.

We're aware of the transient permissions errors that users are receiving while attempting to patch. This is something that we're actively looking into, and will deploy a fix as soon as one is available. Thanks for your patience.

I am also Win7 x64 user and also still waiting on a working patch (after failed attempts to patch manually or through the launcher, with Run as Administrator option off and on) . The link you provided for the fixed 1.06 launcher ( http://cdn1.eveonline.com/349998/evepremiumpatch349998.exe) does not seem to be working either, or is currently overflowed.
I understand it takes some time for you guys to fix the issues for the win7 x64 users, but i also hope you can make it up to us for our lost game time.

Do you mind passing me a copy of your /EVE/launcher/cache/launcher.log via http://pastebin.com/ or somesuch? Thanks!

Sure, just created a pastebin account under the username "raven666wings" and posted the launcher.log content in there as a public paste

I ran the repair tool, and the same error occurs.
I am running windows 7 x64bit
My training que expires on wednesday. I'd prefer to keep it from running dry.

Just to update everyone on the situation:

We're aware of the permissions issues plaguing some of our users. We're actively working on a fix for this.

In the mean-time, please do the following:
1. Restart your computer
2. Run the Repair Tool without starting any other EVE-related process (ie Client, Launcher, etc) beforehand.
3. Navigate to EVE/bin/ and run ExeFile.exe directly.
4. Please reply to this thread confirming this work around, if it is, in fact, successful.

A few caveats about this approach. If you encounter permission errors on files during the Repair process, they may not have been completely updated to their latest versions. Therefore, you may not be running a completely sane client, but you might be able to get in-game.

Thank you for bearing with us while we sort these issues out.

1.06 is currently on SISI, but contains only minor bugfixes. We'll let you know when a version containing fixes for update issues has been deployed.

How long do we the paying customers have to wait for CCP to back this patch out?

There were ample warnings about this error posted to the Sisi thread for a couple of months now.

Why are we paying for developer stupidity at this point. It's not as if we didn't tell you about this problem repeatedly.

There has been posts about Sisilauncher failing to wokr with these same errors. There were posts about the new launcher giving the same errors. There were posts about the repair tool not fixing the issues on Sisi on top of the fact that complete client downloads were not fixing the issue because they had to be patched as soon as you finished downloading and running the client.

So how long do we have to wait for this patch to be backed out so the rest of us that pay for multiple accounts in some cases, can get in and play the game or is this where CCP says "Screw you" once again like they did last summer?

What does it take? A Jita protest to get your bloody attention? Oh wait.. we can't protest in Jita because we can't bloody login let alone PATCH THE BLOODY CLIENT!

Hi Devs...

I've run through all of the suggestions above, and others made by players. The game still goes through the patch loop and says it cannot create shortcut.

Sorting for locations in the space context menu is gone.

example list of locations in the context menu:

POS 7-4 ship maint
1.5 close to p1
POS 7-3 reactor
POS 7-5 ship maint
1.6 close to p2

pre-patch it was looking more like this:

1.5 close to p1
1.6 close to p2
POS 7-3 reactor
POS 7-4 ship maint
POS 7-5 ship maint

I dont get the way this is beeing sorted now.

When having a couple of POS and subsequently quite a decent number of stored locations this is a nightmare. PLEASE FIX IT ASAP!!! Evil

Cheers
Gal

This. Clicking "browse" from the Fittings window will open the Fitting Management window, but minimized, and I'll have to click the neocom icon a few times before it comes up. Then the personal fittings window is empty.
My corporate fittings are also bugged. Some fits show up, but if I click 'em, they don't show the fit as such. I can, however, drag 'n drop the fit-name to a chat window, and then proceed to click that, to see a given fit.
If I navigate back to personal fittings after looking at corp. fittings, it does not refresh the thing - that is, the corp. still show.

Win7, 32-bit.

Adding to this, my other account's personal fittings etc. work fine. It's just on one toon. The toon in question does, however, have 40(-ish?) fits, while the other account has 4. Could this have something to do with it?

Hi,

Have you tried going into the EVE folder and running the eve.exe or the ExeFile.exe without starting them from a shortcut? Do you still get into a patching loop?

Same here, downloading the entire install manually.

I think, that it has something to do with the new (unwanted) renaming of some modules. It seems that, if you have a fitting which contains a module with a newer (but not better Roll) name, the server trashes all these "special" fittings becaus of invalid and not findable names.

I am one unlucky person with an old backup of my fittings (July 2010) and a lot of shield modules and some MWD modules. The same modules with new names. Sad

I can say with certainty that this is not the deal (well, with as much certainty as one person can have with only client-side information). The other account has fittings with the renamed modules in 'em. It's working fine.
Basically everyone I've asked also have working fitting management window. Seems like there are just a few odd ones out.

I did not have a backup of my fittings. D:
Which is annoying, since I had all those nice CONCORD and whatever fits. (including the cockroach and the infested dominix).

For people who are getting the failed install on Windows.
Here is what I did:

  1. Verified my video drivers were up to date.

  2. Navigate to C:\Users\*UERNAME*\AppData\Local\Temp

  3. Find the directory that the launcher makes with a funky name. You can do this by 'sorting' the columns by date. The most recent which mine was called nsb600cc.tmp or something... (another person in the thread reported nswA1A7.tmp another nsb53cc.tmp).

  4. Make sure your browser is closed as well as anything related to EVE (the new launcher and EVE.exe) you may have to kill them from task manager as I was having issues with the launcher releasing FireFox when manually closed.

  5. Navigate to your EVE Directory and launch the repair utility.

It should go through it's update processes and launch EVE.

Dual Pane idea: Click!

-Restarted computer

-Ran repair.exe in EVE folder, got error msg "The repair tool found the following processes in the folder it is trying to repair: "C.\games\steam\steamapps\common\eve online\repair.exe" (just what happened last time before i restarted pc) (i'm running the game through steam and have it installed in its folder, dont know if that can be related to the issue)

-Ran ExeFile.exe directly, it launches the client, and the client runs the patch (i have now the one that i downloaded from the link you provided (evepremiumpatch349998) in my C:\Users\ravenwings\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_[]games[]_steam_steamapps_common_eve_online_tranquility\cache folder, it seems to install, but it is not starting the launcher, and if i launch the game manually it will loop the patching process again.
