Reception Report: 20 homeless received today (Their benefactor remains anonymous)

One of the humble privileges of our work that we do not mention often enough is the occasion to see the best in generosity and self-sacrifice among capsuleers. For many capsuleers, the lives of 20 homeless people would not matter enough to make the sacrifice of time and risk of crew and vessel to bring them to a safe place of hope and help. When someone does such a deed, it restores my hope in the presence of the "better angels of of our nature."

These homeless souls up to today have been passed from place to place without regard for their dignity or potential. Today they begin a journey that hopefully will turn a ray of hope to their spirits.

I extend a bow and a thank you to the true heart who remains anonymous. I thank you also for the generous gift for our future work in Delve. We will strive to be faithful to the spirit of generosity that motivated the gift.

I bid you peace.

116.09.08 22:34 andeleto 11 people (deathcan labelled "slaves in a can")

The second rescue was of eleven human souls from a deathcan labelled "slaves in a can." This offends me for it offends the value of these lives. What a contrast between this pilot andeleto and the pilot yesterday to who took precious time and effort to save lives. This pilot lacked the decency to jump one jump to deliver these people safely to a station.

After the better part of a week on planetside business, I have managed to pull some patrol duty. The above rescue adds to a growing community here in Kaap. I recently visited Eystur where DSTON maintains and funds a large community of freed slaves. Stereotypes defied, they thrive and are as industrious as any I have encountered. I will probably be spending more time there in future days.

This rescue was "routine" in the sense that it occurred in a normal fashion. However, as we were preparing to exit the patrol area, a systems malfunction occurred in the ship's electronics. This resulted in an inability to engage gate activation. The Ships automatic protection systems forced a warp out of the area. We also lost a small portion of data, including the pilot information on the Deathcan. This has been a recurring issue ((substandard ISP)). We hope that our own and technical experts from outside will be able to solve this situation soon.

While on patrol I saw a pair of capsuleer pilots systematically destroying an Imperial Navy patrol one ship at a time. We could find no surviving crew. Such needless bloodshed. We only hope the patrol had the sense to break off the engagement before they were completely decimated.

No rescues were conducted there but these above are reported from earlier.

Many days of out of pod work have kept me from patrols, but today, I was able to return for limited patrol duty. One rescue is reported here. DSTON is working on consolidating our resources and establishing a recording method whereby Manwe, Tahrmal and myself may access all corporate resources wherever they may be. THis is especially helpful with our fleet. We have also been directed to draw up an integrated continuing education program so that all of us are capable of using all our corporate resources as much as is practically possible. It may take some time before I can pilot the DSS Nyansapo, but that is part of the objective.

116.09.26 22:47 Deodrix (10 Marines, 30 Militants, 2 Oura Madusaari, 59 former slaves, 5 Slavers, 14 Hounds, 4 stranded pilots)

Planetside business has, once again, limited my patrol time. However I managed a rescue today. The crew of the DSS Pacifist picked up an unusual mix of people stranded in the same deathcan. Included in this mix were two self-proclaimed Oura Madusari's. We learned that there were certain anomalies encountered in their travels that suggests that there is an Oura Madusari info-morph loop that catches the neural impulses of certain females who pass through it. If conditions are just right, elements of Oura's original personality, memory, etc imprint and replace the subject's identity and memory.

All of the Oura's in our care are kept separate for obvious reasons. We are not dealing with a psychosis; we are dealing with a real change in neural structure in the subjects' brains. They are just as right in claiming to be Oura as I would be as one waking fresh out of the clone vat and calling myself Ston.

As for the others on the deathcan, it appears that simple sadism resulted in their being jettisoned to what would have been their death. Well done crew and M-Center staff.

116.09.27 14:24 Kvilon Vos 20 people

My circadian rhythm is about 12 hours opposed to the M-Center in Kaap where I am stationed when on patrol duty. When I fly in from patrol the active forward scanner shows the lights of the habitation/agri-dome in the late night/early morning. The combination of sleepiness and rest in the M-Center and the activity of my crew and new arrivals at the reception station is somehow a pleasant contrast. Most and nearly all deathcan survivors learn a new rhythm after being rescued. Life in space is friendly to stability and pattern in the ways of rest and work.

I hope positively for these 20 people that the new life rhythms they find will be positive and productive.

Rescue Report: 120 blood slave marines from the clutches of blood cultists in Null Delve

The blood cult uses torture, fear, terror to intimidate and control. Some cult groups use slave soldiers under the constant threat of torture and blood cult ritualistic death to press their service. Many such units "serve" in blood space. These "slave soldiers" are one of the groups that the Disciples of Ston seeks to help in our work in Delve. We are happy to report an initial rescue of 120 such slave soldiers from blood cult hands. They came to us in 4 units of 30 each not long after I set up HQ in Shenda. Shenda provides for us a good HQ far from our other operations where we may conduct rescue work in Delve with caution and prudence. These 120 will no longer be forced to serve with the threat of blood letting and horrible torture. I see we will likely have much work to do in this region.

Delve is a dark, sinister and dangerous place to live and work. We will by necessity keep our deployments here limited for the emotional sake of our crews and staff.

Edit: Just a note that we have changed the registered name of the DSS Angel of Mercy to DSS Mercy because of confusion that we might be affiliated with the Angels pirate faction.

I salute Manwe and the crews and staff in Delve and Shenda for jobs well done. Be careful and "keep the light on." You are in a dark place. Two deathcan rescues are reported above. It is doubtful that I would take a turn on duty in Delve, but Manwe will occupy that role well. Development has set the parameters carefully to protect both Manwe and those with him.

Rescue Report: (from Delve) 50 slaves, 50 scientists

Blood Cult testing facilities are not like research centers in other places. In these horror houses, slaves and a host of other captured, tortured and psychologically tormented individuals are forced to either endure or to commit horrid acts. Both of these groups were destined for the same facility. The former as slaves already, the latter were to be kidnapped and brought against their will for who knows what ends.

We will use every non-violent means at our disposal to help as many out here in this hellish place. Some will find deliverance, but few will ever be the same for the experiences they have endured at the hands of these...

Rescue Report: From Delve
116.09.28 (Militants, Scientists, Slaves, VIPs, weapons)

Blood Cultists "decorate" the exterior of their station in spattering that looks like blood; part of their overall MO of terror and fear.
The blood cult is large and sophisticated enough to require significant executive leadership and administrate. Recruiting those with the skill and intellectual acumen necessary for such work is difficult when the beliefs are so extreme. So, kidnapping becomes the way. We managed to liberate a group of business executives destined for forced service. We have also intercepted two weapons shipments that were directed to enforcing the bondage of slave populations in stations where resistance was forming. Overall, there is more work than we can do, so we do what we can.

After significant time on administrative duty planetside, I managed a patrol today. 34 people were rescued. I have had very little time for piloting lately. There are simply more demands than available time. It may be that capsuleer life will need to take a different shade from this point.

Mr. Momaki,

While I certainly have had my strong philosophical differences with you on non-violence and the implementation of the post-rescue proceedings, the rescue of hapless souls stranded in space was a commendable cause. I find it sad that this chapter in the Cluster's history seems to have passed. I also tremble at the dearth in relief efforts now caused. Perhaps someone or some entities will step into the void.

Mrs. Aspenstar has personally examined their facilities, and Mr. Momaki has returned several thousand recovered kameiras to the Empire through PIE.

And Mrs. Aspenstar, even if Mr. Momaki and his organization may be missing, I at least still make it a priority to check for cans everytime I pass through the systems.

I had joined the channel, but I didn't know if anyone used it anymore so I left.

I could, but it should be noted that I only pass through the area semi-regularly, so any updates would still be weeks apart.
