When will the new rookie ships be on sisi for testing? or are they heading directly to tranquility?

Reaper is there now. Great detail and textures, crap model - half of it is at least, you can pick which half!

Ibis looks bit too much like the Hookbill if you ask me.

Who cares - they're better than the current lunchbox models...
Though I would agree the minmatar would be lovely if replaced with another model :-)

The important thing is wether they will rebalance them at the same time.
Noob ships should be able to fit a group of civ guns (at least 2) in addition to the miner and have enough slots to fit afterburner, shield booster and armor repper at the same time... Also allow each ship to carry 2 light drones.

It's certainly a theme but not a bad one.
My next to only complaint is how apparently ginormous the ibis cockpit is portrayed. It's not much smaller than the hookbill yet its front screen seems to cover half the nose while the Hookbill has tiny windows which better matches up to the Tengu's bridge on the top of the ship.
In fact all the rookie ships share a giant cockpit for their size. Wish I had the ability to put them side by side with some fighter drones.

I've revised my opinion on the reaper somewhat; The more 'enclosed' look is probably indicative of how the matari ships are going to be updated for v3. I actually like everything about the reaper except its lopsided configuration, but that's probably a matter of personal taste. Can't wait to see the maelstrom with those new solar panels that aren't all wonky and weakly designed - strong, bold lines are the order of the day Big smile

I have the solution, but its not going to happen. Matari only have 4 true unsymmetrical hulls, burst probe tempest Typhoon. No idea why they went all crazy for the rookie. Minmatar adds crazy details in a vertical fashion. The Gallente style does not suit them.

Holy freakin' crap does that look awesome. I wish this could happen, but I guess it's too late now Cry

The size of the reaper is a bit odd as well; it's bigger than a rifter, and with its large bridge (cockpit) area it looks improperly scaled. Intentional?

iBis is very, very good though, just had to say it.

Wondering if the vertical lines on the velator are part of a new design style for gallente. I can almost picture the celestis hulls with the same style, and sucking a little less P

I thought they were buffing them, not changing their appearance.

Also, the Impairor looked fine the way it is. I can't say anything about its new appearance yet; CCP won't let me check out your links.

P.S.: How the hell are the Matari? A new playable race?

EDIT: Alright, I love the new Impairor and Velator, I miss the old Ibis (it had a very familiar look, and the new one looks like a Hookbill), and I hate the new Reaper. The Reaper was suppossed to have a minimalistic appearance, and the solar panels on the old one looked awesome. The new Ibis and Reaper are like New Pepsi compared to Pepsi Classic. And before you ask, I drink Coca-Cola Classic, not Pepsi.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Now THAT, I love. Combine it with the good ol' Solar Panel mayhem of the old Reaper, and you're golden.

Rating Rookie ships:

Caldari Ibis: WIN! perfect like it, looks good...
Amarr Impairor: Better, still looks like it did, but looks better - engines and underside and general look, front is a bit odd for a ship still, but - it fits the look of the rest of the ships in the fleet.
Gallenti Vial-something... um.... it looks better than it did, it's not as good as it could have been but improvment... not sure about the saber-toofer look.
Winmatar Reaper... FAIL... no no no... bad, horrible... it has bunny ears - bad... the engines pods side weapons have a droopy look, like the ship ran into something and dented them down... what the hell??? it doesn't even looks minmatar... it looks, well wrong... it's too brown... and I noted this on the new Tornado... this is not a good trend!... Mins used to be red/something, not brown... very very ugly... the model is lacking.

...improvements:

1. Part the bunny ears... place them on the engine ends not on the middle... for a more x look on the ends of the engine pods.
2. Fix the droopy gun mount so it points in the direction the ship is flying? or is this for "ground-straffing" in some future DUST thing.... looks pretty bad.

The ship looks too un-balanced even for a possible Caldari... I mean there are Caldari ship captains saying: DAMN that ship is looking not right!

Lets not make Winmatar look like this, lets re-try this... more color... red would be good... red ones goes fasta... and more speed looking, and more "gear"... the original Reaper, didn't need alot of changing, it just needed to not look like it was a mass of Polygons... but the general everything was very fine... I think had you kept that look with just a polish up, it would have been much better...

Ok, said my piece... and I am (was) an Amarr snob, but please do some rework, Minmatar are very much a look here and too radical a change and no color is not a good sell for winmatar.

Let's just say it needs to have a single Solar Panel ontop (like in its old apperance), and the wing needs to be more Solar Panel than Scrap Metal (ditto). In addition, I want it to be symmetrical.
