You guys sound like just what I'm looking for.

Re-subbed after a good 2-3 years away from EVE and have hooked up with a very small corp in Min space, spend most of my time on my own at the moment so now I've spotted you lot I'll drop this corp membership and sign up.

One question though, which side, red or blue, has the most people in the UK time zone? Thats probably the most important deciding factor for me.

Back in the day I was out in 0.0 for a long time with a pretty large alliance. All the politics made the game wayyyyy to hard work and stressfull. I can't wait to get into some lolz with a more laid back approach to pvp.

What are RVBs views on thi9ngs like can flipping/Ninja salvaging/ransoming and general piracy e.t.c? I'm partial to a bit of exploitation from time to time but have always held true to keeping it from associates and corp/alliance members.

Thanks.

Edit: bit more info ~ I can fly Frigs, Cruisers, BCs, AFs and Inties. I mainly fly Rifters/Stabbers for pvp and on occasion when my wallet can handle it I'll fit up a Jag, If more dps is needed I'll fit up a Cane too. If needed i can fly a stiletto for tackling (lots of skills based around speed and locking e.t.c., this was my main gang role back in the day) or scout about in a probe (i'm pretty nifty with combat probes).

I'd say I was fairly compotent in PVP having been part of a lot of pvp back in the day, ranging from solo/small gang to huge 100+ fleets.

Looking forward to it!

UK presence is large on both sides, so literally flip a coin Psycho. You can swap at will so its all good either way.

As for ninja stuff and so on, we dont care. Do what you will on that front, in fact we have 1 or two members that seem to do nothing but score awesome kills against randoms in lowsec and some good suicides in high too :)

This weekend was the most fun in eve I have had in a longtime.

RvB had a NIMBY (Not In My BackYard) weekend to stop station humping and encourage people to go out and get pew pew.
It was a great success and alot of fun! Pilots from Red and Blue couldn't engage each other in either Hq Systems.

I logged on on Saturday to find out I had missed out on an epic fight between Reds and Blues that lasted about 45 minutes.
Anxious not to miss out on anymore action I checked fleet finder to see if there were any fleets up. \0/ there was. I immediately joined up and prepared for battle. And what a battle it was Battle Summary 1 ( this includes kills from fights I was not involved in)

It went like this jump in kill stuff, be killed, get new new ship and do it again. There were many good fights to be had. It was a good effort from pilots of both sides to keep the fights comming. Special thanks to the blue Fc Professor Clio and the herioc (drunk) red Fc Edvantage and the back up Fc's Bruce Doom, Friar Donk, Dac MoRoac, Dragon Venom and others whose names I have forgotten ( sorry guys). Eventually reluctently I had to log off.

I logged on today a couple of hours before NIMBY finished to do some official RvB stuff when I noticed a fellow red pilot Bruce Doom ask in corp chat if anyone want to go kill some blue battle cruisers flying around in a nearby system. I thought to myself why not and joined the fleet. The Fc asked if anyone wanted to fly a Bc into battle. I realised the insurance was running out on my ferox was running out, so I jumped into it and undocked prepare to lose it in glorious battle. We had a Myrm, a Dessie, some Frigs as well as my Ferox.

Bruce and Myself( I accidently jumped) went into Akonoinen system. There was a Cane and a Harby on the Hageken gate in Akonoinen. Bruce agressed the Cane which jumped out and the Harby warped off. We did manage to catch a poor thrasher who warped in out of jump range. We received reports of more blues in cruisers in system so we jumped out and retreated back to Red Hq to get more pilots and some bigger ships. We had a couple more pilots join up and we undocked and prepared to go into battle again. This time We had 2 Myrms, a Prophecy, a Brutix, a Caracal a Incursus and My Ferox.

This time we managed to get the cane off the gate and hold it down long enough to pop it. Things seemed to go a bit quiet too quiet. A few minutes later two pilots in Our fleet tackled a blue Moa of the gate to blues home system. As I was warping to the gate the Moa popped and the blue fleet jumped in. A blue Cane was tackled and called primary. As this happend a Cynabal decloaked and burned towards our fleet and was imediately scramed and webbed and we switched dps from the Cane to it. With the Cynabals greatest weapon speed gone it died quickly to our guns. We then returned to killing the Cane which died just as quickly. I quickly realised I was being primaried as my Ferox started to go down I locked the closest ships to me and started shooting them in the hope of getting on some more kill mails. Battle Summary 2

Again good job to pilots of both sides for being willing to engage and get some pew pew.

Its not only fleet stuff you can go solo if you want. You can ask for 1v1s. There are also special events like Mangala's ganked nights, Cruisers Brawls, I hosted some frigate and cruiser free for alls for Red and Blue pilots with awesome prices ( faction frigs and cruisers, tier3 bcs and isk). Your also more then welcome host your own events.

The most important thing about RvB is the more You put into it, the more You get out of it. And be prepared to lose ships, lots of ships.

I forgot to mention NOOBFLEET. For those people who are new to PvP we set up the NOOBFLEET channel which has veteran pilots from boths who are willing to take questions, help with fittings, discuss tactics, help with skills selection and if you want they will fight you to low armor or hull and the discuss where you went right or wrong, how you can improve for fighting. I highly recommed this for all new pilots who join RvB.

If you have any further questions please ask in this forum or go to the rvb public chat R-V-B in game to talk to our pilots.

Don't forget to check out our awesome new website. RvB

Azriel Maximus posted a story from Sunday night, here is mine from Saturday night. This was still a Not In My Backyard weekend so we were not allowed to shoot the other side in Hageken or Autaris.

I don't know exact times, but it was late US TZ Saturday night. I logged in for a bit before going to do laundry, joined a fleet that was up, and was offered FC as the current FC was in an Exequror and wanted to focus on that instead of target calling. So I took over and moved the fleet into Akon to see if any reds wanted to fight.

Before joining the fleet Thrawn and myself saw a Red fleet over in Vaajaita but my scouts in Blue fleet reported them safed up. So while we waited for them to make their move we bumped around Akon. Got a few stray kills, ganked really, nothing great. Finally made the call for someone to grab some probes and see if we could grab the Red fleet that way.

At this point our fleet was 3 Maller, Vexor, Caracal, 2 Exequror, a single destroyer, and a bunch of frigs. Intel said the red fleet was 4 cruisers, frigs, destroyers, and I had seen a Drake around. Blues still out numbered them but they were not going anywhere.

Just as our probes were getting into Vaajaita I ordered the Blue fleet onto the Vaajaita gate in Akon. Moments later I got a report the Reds were leaving the system, but they were not jumping into Akon. I knew immediately where they were going. Jan -> Nalvula -> Vourrassi -> Hageken. I ordered the fleet to align Hag, checked with others in the fleet to ensure we could pass through Hag so long as we did not engage, and then gave the order to move as fast as possible into Hag. I moved the fleet through Hag together to help ensure no one did something stupid, like shoot a Red in Hag during NIMBY.

As we jumped out of Hag scouts reported that Red fleet was already well in Nalvula. I had to engage them on the Nalvula -> Vourrassi gate because if I engaged them on the Vourrassi -> Hag gate they could jump through without fighting and I couldn't get them in Nalvula, they were already there and could be anywhere in system. So it was a race. We had to get to the gate before they did. Who has the longer warp? God damn at this point I really wished I knew that information because that is what it came down to. Who had the longer warp! While in Vourrassi we passed several Red members, assuredly warning their fleet of our position.

We began landing on the Nalvula gate and there was a single Red ship sitting on it, can't remember what it was but I gave the order for our frigs to push it through. Scout still reported Red fleet sitting at 0 on the gate not moving. After the Red ship left the scout reported Red fleet beginning to scatter, not going in a single direction. I gave the order for frigs to jump through only to realize they had aggression. Woops! Held the fleet while we waited out the aggression timer.

Then a Red Drake de-cloaked from jumping through to us. Blew my mind and I was not expecting it. Our fleet was not ready for it either and he got away. Was a bit sad about that but no big deal. Scout reported that the Reds had not fled back to Jan but in fact were safed up somewhere in system. I gave the order for the fleet to jump through and then began splitting us up over the Jan and Vourrassi gates in Nalvula. This is when I noticed it. A 70 AU warp from Jan to Vourrassi. That was it, I knew it. That was why we made it to the Nalvula gate at the same time they did. Damn did that make me happy, but I was also now risking the fleet split up, but I figured we had the numbers.

I was satisfied at this point. A bit sad we missed the Drake and the Reds, but the thrill of racing to cut them off was awesome. Then the Red Drake came back into Nalvula. WTF! BAIT! TRAP! MUST BE! Red fleet will be right behind it. ****, I have no scouts in Vourrassi, they could have more coming from RHQ in Hageken to meet with the fleet in Nalvula. I should run. Must be a trap... **** that. KILL THE DRAKE AND DIE FIGHTING!

I gave the order and we began hammering the Drake and I called the Jan gate squad back to the Vourrassi gate to engage the Drake while asking for bumps from our frigs and more damn webs! While watching a Drake slowly die I was hammering my D-Scan waiting for the Reds, it took a few minutes but they appeared on it. By the time they landed the Drake was entering armor. We killed it and moved onto other targets burning through the list of targets fast and hard.

In the end we lost a single Caracal and I don't think anything else from that fight. We snagged a few cruisers, a BC, and a couple frigs. I was worried the entire time reinforcements from RHQ would be coming up to pincer us. My best guess is the Red fleet wanted to use the Drake as bait when engage us while we pounded on it but they were over almost at the Jan gate and had to warp the whole way. That is my guess, I don't know for sure.

In the end it was a gank no doubt and I must hand it to Reds for bringing the fight. If they had not moved to Jan I was about to start asking people to ship down from their cruisers to even the odds as we out numbered the Red fleet, but with them moving to Jan I had no time and had to move the fleet fast to try and cut them off.

Big props to our to logi pilots, kept me and a few other members of the fleet alive like a couple of pros. I didn't even have to ask for reps when I was primaried and I am glad for that as I totally forgot while I was calling targets. The fleet as a whole was very good as well. Moved fast, was where I wanted them, the scouts preformed wonderfully, and everyone (mostly anyways) stayed on the primaries. Could not have asked for a better fleet.

After the fight we moved back to Autaris through Jan and I left fleet to go do laundry.

A big thank you to Blues for letting me FC that fleet and Reds for bringing it. The chase to cut off the Reds was worth the entire fleet alone for me.

That feeling you get, when the enemy fleet goes from yellow boxes to red, and you're already racing away at max speed and warp off* at 12% hull...

Yeah, it's kinda like that.

I'll do a quick write up on the two FFA's that occured in Akonoinen today.

I logged on today and Slave Maker made an annoucement in R-V-B channel that a T1 frigate FFA would be occuring in 10 minutes. Since I hosted some FFA's I decided it would be nice to participate in one. I jumped in my active tanked punisher made sure I had enough ammo then I set off to Akonoinen. Slave went through the rules as people were forming up in the "Thunderdome". There were about 19 - 20 people reds and blues taking part. Everyone took up their positions and the count down to battle began. I checked my overview noting which pilots were closest to me and who was flying squishie easy to kill ships. 3...2...1 the battle began most ships where 30 kms away from me, I burned toward a tristan which was under attack from a merlin and rifter. The tristan popped quickly and I engaged the rifter who was being shot by the merlin and another punisher as well. It to dropped and the merlin burned away from my punisher. I added the remaning pilots to my watch list to see who had the most damage to their ships. The other punisher was in lowish armour and was the closest ship to me. We shot at each other for at least 4-5 minutes not able to break each others tank. Not really paying much attention to what was going on around me I discovered I was in the top 5. 2 Punishers and 3 Merlins where left. All remaining pilots primaried the punisher I was shooting at and it eventually went down. When I saw that the other pilots where from blue republic I realised they were going to gang up on me. With no web on my punisher they could kite me easily. I eventually ran out of cap and my repper stopped and my ship popped leaving the 3 merlins to fight it out. 1 merlin died and one warped out leaving Delucian of Blue Republic the winner.

It was decided to take a break and have another FFA.

This time I decided to take a tanky merlin into battle. As before we formed up in Akonoinen in the " Thunderdome" Once again we took up posistions preparing to engage in battle. The count down began I was checking my overview looking for easy kills.
As soon as the battle started I burned towards a tristan that was already under attack from two other pilots. I managed to land some shots on it before it popped, I then started on a rifter that very quickly shared the same fate as the tristan. About a minute later a second rifter was dead. I was chasing a third rifter when I realised I hadn't brought enough ammo with me Oops. I looked at the wrecks on the field to see which ones might contain the ammo I needed. I found a wreck with T2 rockets and grabbed them only to discover when I tried to load them I couldn't use them Cry. I eventually scrounged enough ammo to burned back into the fight. The last remaining blue pilot got popped and the rifter I chasing earlier went down. 4 were left a rifter, punisher, a tristan an my merlin. Once again a lack of web mean't the other ships could kite me. When I burn't out one of my guns and started to run out of ammo again I decided to warp out of the arena and save my ship. I had 3% hull left when I got out Big smile. The punisher went down next followed by the tristan leaving PVDNS77 the victor.

This is an example of the fun we have in RvB.

Day 1 of EVE Uni V RVB round 2, or how I was smug all day.

The war itself went live at 10.59am GMT yesterday and is to last 72 hours till Sunday at 10.59 GMT, and there has already been some fun fights had between the terriers of RVB and the lazy, left wing students of EVE University.

The first couple of fights took place not long after downtime yesterday in Uosusuokko, a small gang of RVB pilots in a mish mash of frigs and larger took on a bigger gang of Unistas in frigates, battlecruisers and even battleships. First fight we won as their use of cloakies or spies meant that when they came in, they landed right on us at our tactical and RVB does like to brawl up close, however the second went less well as we were much more spread out, we still took names just not as many as we could have done. http://eve-kill.net/?a=kill_related&kll_id=12246661

Following this, and knowing they had a large gang sitting in the Funtainen system, we reshipped into a mainly Abaddon focused group, gathered some more folks, and headed over there hoping for a good brawl with lots of pew. The Uni guys then disappointed me by not coming out to play despite both sides being fairly well matched, this went on to be the pattern for the afternoon and early evening. Disappointing, but RVB at least had itself to shoot in between our fleet assembly sessions. So all was not lost.

Oh and along the way we may have spammed the inbox of one CSM 7 candidate with

[20:26:41] Mangala Solaris > NO FIGHT NO VOTE 4 CSM7

Later on in the evening, I got word from Kelduum Revaan the CEO of EVE University that their force in Funtainen had found an FC, and wished to fight my vicious terriers. So I quickly setup a fleet and got everyone assembled in record time and took a wander over. My force was primarily ranged hurricanes, a drake blob, three battleships, some logistics, ecm platforms and the usual RVB frigate and cruiser squads.

After some he said she said with Steve Fire, the Unista FC, over whether his group would ever jump out of Funtainen – I even gave him some advice on a way to do it that could mess up my group – eventually I forgot this was serious business and called a leeroy into them (their fleet being close range fit did not come into play at all in my mind… with a shiny uncloaking a few seconds ahead of us to draw the Uni fire, while my fleet began to burn off grid a ways.

10 minutes later it was all over.

75+ Unista vessels had been taken down quickly and methodically for 15 or so RVB losses. I had only spent that fight calling the big ticket items, having left my cruiser and frigate pilots to do what they wanted / keep ships locked down – and RVB’s pilots are pretty awesome in smaller hulls. Everything I called melted when looked at. All in all the best near serious fight I have had in a long time. We even looted the field, despite them having supplies to reship to in system.

And that – for me at least – was the end of Day 1. I had a really good day, despite the waiting around from time to time, that ended in a fight that I thought would go much worse for us – especially given how I have not FC’d RVB properly for some time now and how rusty I felt in general about FCing serious fleets.

I look forward to more action.

A quick write up of the Imicus of doom fleet today. When I logged on today to do some RvB offical business, I decided to do a quick check of fleet finder to see if anything was going down. There was a fleet up so I joined up and the FC asked for mainly Imicus and tackle frigs. When We formed up there 8 Imicus, 2 Merlins, 3 Rifters, 1 Firetail and 1 Velator. We setup some gatecamps on various gates the decided to sit on the BHQ undock. The blue fleet undocked and we legged it to Akonoinen. A couple of pilots stayed behind while the rest jumped through and set up a camp on the other side. Blues jumped in and we managed to snag a couple of Vexors Vexor1 and Vexor 2 while the rest of blue fleet warped off. After a few minutes We jumped back in a nailed a blue Cane on their undock. We set up another camp in Akonoinen and somehow managed to get a Navy Slicer. One of the blues stooped to using a Tornado to insta pop our frigs including my Imicus. That was about all the action I had time for and I had to log.

Thats what RvB I like about RvB you can try any ship out even ones that aren't normally used in PvP.

For more Info on RvB join R-V-B channel ingame and talk to our pilots or check out our web site RvB
