So its been a good run.

10 years.

The first few years, were the most fun.

Away from the alpha alt scourge, and when seeing a carrier or dread in space was still considered a pretty rare thing.

When everyone was still poor..

Now everyone's grandma could have one of those on the ready,

Now you just cant compete a pvp escalation without having one, or basically should consider every engagement in with that possibility

or simply stick to frigates...

Also, now, if you're not at least multiboxing 2 accounts, you're just doing it wrong. Pay to Win.

So it's come to a point where I think it 's not really even worth spending the effort for that kind of gameplay.

This game has waaay passed its prime, and I feel sorry for those only joining now.

You guys enjoy the crumbs of whatever's left of it, while it lasts.

All the best,

o7

Bye Bye posts go in the "Out of Pod Experience" forum.

And commas should never separate the subject from the verb unless you *really* know what you're doing:

"The first few years, were the most fun.". Ugh!

Well I could reply, stating the obvious of current pvp state vs 8 years ago, but your brain wouldn't register.

If nothing else, this is a great bait thread on an otherwise slow forum day. Look how quickly you snagged Jenn, for instance.

Well done, good sir. Well done indeed.

Well someone deliberately misread to ignite, and I responded.

We could endlessly debate the current state of pvp in the game as opposed to then, but you can discuss that amongst yourselves.

Im out of the pond.

lately most days are slow forum days, the forums are dying!

also I think the reliance on multiboxing was much stronger 10 years ago as most players could only fly a limited selection of ships, I had alts trained into specific ships. now I have a ton of SP and wealth and can fly pretty much anything I want.

I didn't ask for his stuff because I know his stuff got blowed up, apparently by some guy's alt.

I was going to say based on their understanding of the game they probably don't have anything I'd even want

2.5 minutes. I wonder if that's a Jenn alt. I would not put it past them to troll their own alts as an opportunity to push their HTFU agenda.

It wouldn't be the first time.

I well remember the old forums where it was pretty often you'd catch someone's two alts having an argument in a given thread. It was real easy back then to slip up and post with the wrong character.

Frankly, I don't get the OP attitude.

I'm new (of sorts) to EVE, but (very) old to a bunch of other games and gaming communities, but this seems to be a common topic: nostalgia googles. It's as if some people simply refuse to acknowledge the problems of the past and idealize it, seeing only what they see as the 'good old days' at the expanse of the present.

IMHO, this is simply resistance the change. I can't understand what's so difficult about it, about accepting that times change, things change and transform. Not always for the best, true, but staying the same isn't any better. We need to evolve, in every facet of our lives, and I think it's a good thing that games can do that.

Anyway, to leave games like EVE are a mistake in my opinion: it's the kind of game that changed the landscape of gaming forever, for better or for worse. I, for one, only regret not being a part of it sooner.
