EVE Online is filled to the brim with academics. I would rephrase that more into "EVE Online has a bunch of elderly grumpy men and women that can't make up their minds and mostly change opinion half through their post.".

It's not bullying if the "victim" chose to be hit in the face by the "bully" the moment both signed up for the game.

Try reading into the definition of consensual:

The community was never so toxic. The sandbox was about sand, not about bonking smaller kids over the head with the pail and shovel and then pointing and laughing. Who wants to voluntarily log into that? (people who lack agency and feel they "need" to I guess - they probably conduct their sorry lives outside the game like that too).

Fortunately, in this game, you're only as powerful as you choose to be.

As a side note, one cambridge dictionary definition of the word 'literally' also makes it synonymous with 'figuratively'. Word definitions are malleable, and require context. In the case of EVE, you're only as powerful as you choose to be, but also, and 'bullying' that takes place according to your precious dictionary definition is within the rules of the game, so even if bullying, as according to that definition, is happening, then it's completely fine. Because if I have to bully people out of my space for whatever reason, then it becomes a legitimate tactic. If we're talking about real world bullying with real life consequences, however, then there are rules in the EULA against that and, once again, you should file a ticket, because that's how you get results in that regard.
