The use and diversity of rigs for ec's strikes me as being unreasonable. Manufacturing is tied to market conditions which are in continual flux. If I want to build an ec, and rig it, it is awkward and prohibitively expensive to swap out the rigs for something new every time market conditions change. Moreover, the ec rigs are way too specialized. In any given corp you may have one guy building fuel blocks - another doing small ships and still another doing capital production. Was it really intended that they all were supposed to have their own personal ec's? Or was it intended that smaller corps are supposed to have to join larger alliances to gain access to larger facilities? The whole point of such changes as jump fat and fozzie sov was to break up control of the blue donut - and yet here the way the ec's are designed - it pushes people to become part of larger entities which in turn fosters the blue donut.

TL;DR Civilian modules should be removed from the game

After sitting in the Rookie Help chat for a week, I must say that one major confusing element to new players is related to the civilian modules. This relates both to guns (getting new guns but not loading ammo) and exploration (heading out to deep WH/Low/0.0 before finding that their civilian modules does nothing.

After playing through the Inception NPE I couldn't seem to find information relaying that these modules are simply "dummy modules" specially for the tutorial. This makes the transition confusing.

I would suggest removing civilian modules from the game entirely. Why can they not simply play with the real things right off the bat?

Dear CCP,
We are waiting.

Please add me to the list of people wanting Classic Aura back for regular gameplay. I posted my protest in the latest This Week in EVE:

Sylvia Kildare wrote:
Yep. Bring back the old Aura. New Aura is fine for the NPE, but for "warp drive actives" and docking voice confirmation and "you cannot jump" messages.... and ESPECIALLY for "skill training complete"... the old voice WAS EVE. Years of auditory comfort flushed down the toilet just so there'd be one new voice actor for the NPE + all the rest of us.

Keep the new voice actor for Aura in the NPE, give us back the old Aura for everything else. Kthxplz.

Your Alpha Clone system is more like a permanent free trial than being an actual Free to Play system because there is a hard paywall waiting for you once you train everything you are allowed to train (at 1/2 speed no less making it even more painful). Your marketing on this feels misleading. Alpha Clones will probably be much more popular with existing subscribers, especially pirate Corporations who just want toss-away alts without paying for new accounts, than new players who will still hit the same 90 degree skill curve as they always have once they leave your NPE.

However, seeing as I would never bother with an Alpha Clone personally, it doesn't affect me all that much (unless I subbed again then it would because of my note about pirate/ganker corporations above). That's just some feedback on how I feel about that system, personally, and how I don't find it appealing and as a result I would never recommend it to anyone.

On the note of you ever getting my business again, your removal of Aura really angers me. I muted the "new & improved" Aura within 10 minutes of firing up the game after the expansion. It is HORRIBLE. Aura was one of the best things about the experience. Aura was my companion through many hours of playing and mining. Aura was EVE. Hundreds of people complaining besides me and you just don't care. Not even enough to give people the option to use the Aura us veterans love. Well, I don't care if I give you my money. See how that works?

TBH, after Ascension, I see more people online than before it. This might stabilise after few months or so, but for now at least, I think that CCP did a good job at convincing me and my wifey to resub.

Ascencion is rather new, i'm talking about real eve beggining, don't forget eve was created 13 years ago... Once again, you can now create an infinity of free alts and it's cheating the statistics !

The attracting aspect of eve was PvP, which lost all (physical) sence when devs made some ships able to warp faster than a server's tic ! I'm not a pro dev, but it's just physically impossible, it just doesn't work !

There was a time when you couldn't make 3 jumps in low sec without getting involved in a fight ! now you can make 40 jumps in 0.0 without crossing any ship, even friendly ! Your 30k players are just free alts in high sec, sorry to disappoint ;)

Concerning my stuff, you'd have to make me jump out of the 0.0 i'm standing right now (my main is cloaked in a big ass ship with all my expensive stuff in da space... )

But if one day i decide to relog, you'll be the first one to know ;)

Hi,

I find the new characters interface very nice , however the window skillqueue is really not practical, I play on a small screen, I only see 2 or 3 skill and it is very difficult to insert the desired skills to the good position.

In addition I am lost in the skill groups, at least they should be arranged in alphabetical order.

Amarr alphas are allowed defender missiles lvl 1 and missile launcher op lvl 1. the funny thing is defender missiles require missile launcher operation at lvl 2. how hard is it to check the dependencies?

The only issue I have with the new Aura Voice is not the dialect or voice actor, but rather the feeling that the audio is of very low quality. It sounds like it was recorded with sub-par recording equipment, but I suspect it may be design choices during post process.

For me Aura was a strong presence in the ship, but this also needs a high quality voice to match.

As an example, Lord Maldoror commands great "presence" through his voice in this clip.

Exactly.

To me;

"Connecting" sounds more like a mumbled version of "Kevin";
"Warp Drive Active" sounds like "Orp Drive Active";
"Docking Permission Requested" and "Docking Request Accepted" are two completely different voices;

It's just madness... How this could ever have been approved truly baffles me.

Are you really that surprised that literally hundreds of players are requesting a return of the old voice, CCP?

Judging by your 40 pages of absolute and total silence I guess that a return of the old audio recordings, or at least an option to choose between the new and the old, is unfortunately out of the question. Though why do you also refuse to improve upon these current recordings? Isn't that the least you could do? Surely you too must hear that, in their current state, they are most definitely subpar.

I'm a sound designer myself, and if you have only a half-decent audio engineer in your employment (which I'm having serious doubts about at this point, for obvious reasons) this will literally only be a half day's work.

As much as I miss the old voice, I think the way the current recording of "Docking Request Accepted" sounds is pretty good. I could certainly live with that. The problem is just that literally none of the recordings sound alike. It's like we're suddenly flying around with 6 different AIs in our ship.
That's why it makes absolutely no sense to me that these changes have been approved in the first place. Because making sure that your audio is consistent in its sound, especially when, according to the lore, they're coming from the same source, is probably rule #1.

All this gives me the iimpression that you either f'd it up on purpose, or you simply just don't give a ****. But I'll just pretend to know better than that.

Finally, I'm sure that by now you had hoped that we would've already given up on complaining, as your attitude of "Nobody likes change but they'll just have to accept it. They'll let it go soon enough." couldn't be more obvious, but I hope that it's clear by now that that won't be the case and that keeping silent isn't doing you any favors.

Perhaps you're too busy working on other things right now and don't have time to worry about the audio - LET US KNOW
Perhaps you're still working on the audio and had to release it in this state due to time constraints - LET US KNOW
Perhaps you simply don't agree with us and think the current audio is better and will stay the way it is - LET US KNOW

Keeping your customers - most of whom have been willing to give you part of their hard-earned money for years - in the dark like this is seriously offensive.

CCP have given their answer regarding the new Aura via the community manager (If that is what you call someone so completely detached from the community he manages) - A nice simple "NOPE" was the only response to all you (and many others) just asked.

Aura's voice was the voice of Eve. It should have been obvious that it was an essential part of 'the brand,' something that should not be meddled with.

The mistake is clear to everyone, and should now be clear to CCP.
Making a mistake is one thing. Allowing a mistake to stand is another.
When we correct our mistakes, we are held in higher esteem.

Please move "simulate ship' to the bottom on transactions' RMB context menu. Currently it:

- ruined over decade of muscle memory
- what's worse: simulate ship shows up only for ships

So please move it somewhere lower. It's not important functionality in context of character/corporation transaction history.

Blood Raider Cerebral Accelerator: Last year these were converted to a new item, the "Expired..." and I think the current batch should also be converted into "Expired..." versions, but that would mess with existing market orders. So I think all current orders involving not-expired Accelerators would have to be cancelled first. What's the plan?

After several weeks adapting to the new changes, here are my issues and concerns with the new ship fitting interface. Some of the new features are pretty decent, but if I had to choose between the new interface and features, and losing all the new features but going back to the old interface, I would choose the old interface.

1. The window on the left side of the screen that shows ship fittings has the following concerns.
a. The ship icons ad spam to the information. Is there a way to turn these off? The icons add no new, usable, information and I would be just fine returning to text only.
b. How do you turn off the information regarding corporate fittings? There should be one additional filter layer since I will usually not care about how many corporate fittings there are.
c. Sorting ships by hull type, with a drop-down menu for each is ok, but again, the icon wastes space and does not add new information.
2. The ship simulation features have the following concerns:
a. It takes a REALLY long time to load any filter combination. Does this have to go back to the main server each time a new filter is selected? The filters themselves are good idea, but the load time is atrocious.
i. This data is from the standard market data. What is the issue with cross-loading from the market data and applying filters locally?
b. When selecting a module, you keep having a pop-up which shows module cost.
i. This data is next to worthless since it does not necessarily reflect local/accessible markets, and because once I have a fit I like, I will look into costs.
ii. Depending on the alignment, this pop-up can obscure data on the left side of the main ship-fitting screen, which requires scrolling the module screen to eliminate the conflict.
iii. Please just eliminate the pop-ups, or provide an option to turn them off!
1. The only benefit I see with giving a pop-up with cost information is that it does give an order of magnitude indication for cost. If cost is kept, this data should be displayed in a spot other than the pop-up which does not obscure any other data at any time.
c. The second button from the right (resources filter) takes a REALLY long time to load.
d. When I click on “Modules”, the “Charges” information often defaults as being displayed. Clearing this takes time, clicking around several buttons, or closing and re-opening the ship fitting window.
i. This morning, I could not load any modules on my Dominix fit AFTER I had actually put myself in my Dominix. Even then, the Charges displayed as default for around 30 seconds.
ii. The modules displayed after the resources filter button stopped loading. Since I had been messing with the fitting window for a few minutes already, the 30 seconds to display modules may have been a coincidence since it took a long time for the resources filter button to finish loading.
e. The dps is now the combined dps of all items. You have to scroll over it and open the pop-up to see individual information for drones and turrets.
i. This is another feature that wastes time. Instead of just glancing over and seeing the information, additional interactions with the mouse are now required, and the availability of the information is not intuitive.
3. I tried out a new fit and over-taxed my power grid. To represent this, the power grid remaining number was displayed as a negative number, turned red, and began slowly blinking.
a. Displaying the number as negative and turning it red both make sense and give a quick representation of an issue.
b. Slowly blinking the number wasted time with figuring out what the number actually was since I could not just glance at the number and gather the information. I had to stare at it for over one blink cycle before I was able to see the information that was actually there. So please, stop the blinking!
4. The icons without text are not the most intuitive. I had to hunt around to learn the basic features. Text on the icons would be VERY helpful so I do not have to hunt so much for features or memorize all the buttons.
5. How is “Alpha Strike” calculated? On my Dominix, the number appears to be meaningless since I can only have 5 drones on the field at once.
a. Personally, alpha strike info is not nearly as important as being able to see each type of dps (turrets, drones, etc) in one glance.
b. For alpha strike to be relevant, what goes into the calculation should be displayed somewhere, which is a feature I have not yet identified.
6. When I want to overwrite the existing fitting, I have to save as, which gives me a new save (separate line), then I have to delete the existing (old) fitting. Why not give the option to overwrite existing?
7. When editing the cargo hold on my Stratios, T2, Exploration, fit, I ran into several issues:
a. It takes multiple efforts clicking on almost all parts of the cargo hold icon to open the cargo hold interface. Not sure what is going on, but it should be a simple double-click and open.
b. I have been trying to reduce core scanner probe count from 88 to 8, but no matter how many times I edit it, either the edits will not take, or additional items (m3) are added to the cargo hold.
8. When in simulation mode, why is the ship white and bright? This is hard on the eyes and induces eye strain (yes this produces a physical reaction feel it very quickly). This should be a more muted color.
