Your system requirements on Android are a bit high. Market share for 5.0+ is roughly 50% so you are excluding half of all Android users.

Pleeeeeeeeeaaaase write an UWP App for Win 10. Not Windows Mobile for itself. UWP.

There are people that want to look at their char while playing xbox for sure.

Very, very very shiny!

Could we pretty please have a Windows Phone port as well? Smile

1. Not intuitive to add characters for multiple accounts.

Add → "Cancel" button (this is stupid) → Login → Select character → "Authorize" → EULA (HUGE!) → "Accept" → Select same character again → "Authorize"

2. Can't easily organize characters.

Can only drag characters to top of list, so have to start in reverse order and drag every character up one at a time.

Wouldn't be as much of a pain if newly added characters appeared at the end of the list rather than the top.

EDIT: Oh crud ... the last character access pops to the top of the list. This will royally mess-up my character order OCD.

3. Can't see the full skill queue.

4. Looks nice. Isn't useful.

Aura for Android is so horribly out-of-date (I think the developer abandoned it), yet it does more. e.g. skill queue planning

Even if you "just" port the iOS version to UWP it would be awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feedback from a five year EVE Player, and Android programmer:

If you haven't loaded my skill queue. Tell me it is loading. Don't tell me I have no skills in queue. Not good for my heart

Why not a feedback mechanism in app?

Why does the app report I have two contracts if I have no outstanding contracts. Somewhat confusing. (This may absolutely be user error, but I can't figure it out).

Notification simply says: "A contract has been assigned to", and clicking the box doesn't give me more details. Bit of a tease, please add a dialog or something that shows the full information. :(

Is modifying the calendar within reach? Also the layout for the calendar events is super confusing. Also, the markup is listed as plain text in the details. This may be helpful.

What determines order of characters in the list? It seems like training is on the top, but otherwise no real order. Could I customize the order of my characters in the app?

I like the fact that the racial colors are reinforced in the app. Great touch.

Can we send mail to corp via the app? I try to send to Aideron Robotics, but it says character not found.

I really hope the fact that you circumvent the Google/Apple store for the Aurum transaction by not using their microtransaction system wont be a problem. I trust you guys have verified the rules on this more recently than I have.

Please allow us to click on our picture in the character sheet to see a full screen high res version of the image. One of the big use cases of this app is to show someone what you are. And how you look is a big part of that.

In general I would like more click-ability. I want to click on skills or ships and get descriptions and information about them. Learning EVE is hard and having the information available on the go integrated with my character in the app will aid in learning.

I do like the easy information of jump clones. I feel like that alone adds value in helping keep everything organized.

I recommend two user profiles:
1) A commander or content creator who wants to use the app as a sort of blackberry for their corporation - thus improved notifications, mail, and calendar functionality.

2) A student who has just gotten into EVE Online, and is using the app while in class or otherwise forced to not play their new obsession - thus additional information, portals, and ability to research other options.

So far it is a great, relatively stable showing. The load times are long, and I would like to see some more intelligent caching, but overall impressive look and feel keeping it both EVE and Material-ish at the same time.

I think you need to seriouslly look at the OS version you have designed it to work on, 40.2% of the Android userbase is still running 4.x.x OS. I've just replaced my phone with a new one and it runs 4.4.2. Wont be upgrading just to run an Eve app sorry.

I do find this odd... AppCompat means you can take most things you need and run it on 4. I am not sure what happened here, but I don't personally see a reason to be targeting above 19 (4.4).

There could be a legitimate reason, but I would be personally surprised.

If I am not mistaken, I read just last week that they said that the reason for "incompatibility" are the phone producers. They are too lazy to make new drivers for EOL (End of Life - not the alliance) products.

Only the newer chip generations can update to newer android because they have the android 5 and 6 drivers for the android kernel.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

My reasons to use such an app would be (and hope to see it someday implemented)...

- Market manipulation (even if just adjustments to existing orders)
-Simple planetary interaction say, restarting extractors

I sign under, i guess we could do much in this app except stuff that we have to undock.

Well that would explain why many phones don't get upgraded, but it doesn't explain why an app would have to target 5.0 over 4.4. The only wall I have ever hit with this is related to the Camera API, but even then Googles own apps often use the old Camera, as Camera2 doesn't have enough adoption yet.

It _could_ be the updates to the WebView. With the integration of the SSO, the chances of using webviews for most of the visuals is pretty high. However, we are not treading into territory I have not personally worked on, thus is speculation.

hey,

Awesome, really love the app!!

At first the often mentioned bugs (I guess too many ppl trying to authorize and beta and all that?) - cant authorize character and character wont always load correctly (no skill queue, slooooww) etc.

Would like some changes, add-ons in due time ( not in order of 'importance'):

- able to select background (racial perhaps), wel any customization ability would be nice.
- able to chat in selected chats ( playercorp - alliance and the like)?
- able to see production/ research jobs (timers)
- make switching character easier ( button always visible)
- mayby able to see saved ship fittings ( usefull when thinking about and when talking to rl friends)
- mayby add a ship fitting tool ( I personally dont care, but I guess ppl with a bigger screen would not mind to be able to play around with it while travelling etc).

cant hurt to ask.

Ty .

p.s. And while you are at it, transport the full game to android so we can play while in transit? XD..... no?

I guess its all possible, but tbh I would rather keep the actual playing of the game, well, ingame.

When you sign a new character in it says 'nothing to display, swipe down'. Wouldn't it be better to show the screen that is displayed when you tap your portrait?

I have a Samsung Galaxy tab A and it works perfectly with all characters on the account. As soon as I logged into it they were all listed with everything listed correctly.

Thank you.

The app is really nice! great work guys!

A few suggestions for next updates:
- allow multiple accounts to be added (most of us rock not only multiple toons but also multiple accounts)
- show current implants both on switch page and character main page, as well as active boosters if possible (most of us try to track how long we have left until we need to pop a new booster)
- longer term assume you will add market order overview functionality? (see and amend market orders etc.)

But great work so far! thank you for the app.

I like starting critiques / feedback out with the positive (so I can hold what's to come over your head while stating kind words Evil) so here we go.

  • The application is beautiful. No, really. Read that again. Great work!
  • Love being able to send eve mail, though this appears to be buggy from what I've read. (I haven't had a chance to try this feature yet).
  • I like the character summary page.

You might be disappointed by the short list above. But you have to understand that what Eve Portal is doing... well, I already have an app for that. So the functionality that would have gotten high praise a few years ago (or more) are now you trying to play catch up. So don't be disappointed. Catch up, then pod the other apps.

Here are the things I see that need improvement:

  • It's okay to have a long load time. It really is. But I shouldn't see it. It's okay if I'm not being show true-to-life values on my phone constantly. Cache the information, then show me that and refresh in the background.
  • I keep track of several multiple characters. Being able to sort the avatars in an order that makes since to me would be greatly appreciated.
  • Though I like the character summary page, it needs to be more click-y. I see the summary of my next half dozen skills, but I also want to see my entire training tree.
  • Home system isn't very helpful. Current system is.

Here are a few features I would like to see added so I can get rid of that other app:

  • Ship fitting. Any chance of getting the ghost fitting ported over?

When I have more time I will invest more thought into this.
