I like to roleplay and I love in-game events, but I'm losing more interest every day due to the increasing difficulty to keep up to date with lore and in-game events and developments. The new launcher doesn't feature a news feed. There is no centralized way of keeping up to date with the news. You need to keep track of many different websites, blogs, Scope videos, news pieces, forum posts, etc. If you just keep track of 1 or 2 you just miss whatever is released in the rest.

The latest example is the Upwell Consortium call for Research Components, which is found in a somewhat obscure reference in the "features" page for the upcoming expansion, and is not heard about anywhere else (and no, don't say that is deliberate as it "promotes people to look for hints and details and blablah"; it just breaks the suspension of disbelief. The Upwell Consortium in the real world would have broadly publicized this, and your character would have heard about it on The Scope or any other news service.)

Please, implement a simple feature to bring visibility back to in-game developments: when you open a concord billboard, or the in-game browser, you're presented with a news feed that links to every official material related to the in-game universe recently. Possibly, even non-official, player produced news blog articles and stuff with enough quality. That would solve this and bring more interest towards lore and in-game fiction.

I would say it's easy access info, all off it.

Also you are in Bastion, son of CFC. Blink
You have those sigs/groups(whatever they are called), are you trying to say there is no group for people interested in lore/event where people would link relevant info?

The EVE Updates website is entirely out of character information, and the event hasn't begun yet in character. When it does start, there'll be in character news and scope videos released to cover it.

EVE Updates i simply there to provide information on the roadmap for the game, not the game world, in terms of feature reveals and a timeline for deployment.

For actual in character news distributed by CCP, there's only two places you need to look and follow for all the information you need to get involved:

The Game World News Feed

The Scope playlist on YouTube

Hope this helps.

Some people are unable to use Slack, so you need to make sure that the news is available on all channels, rather than just one location.

The event has begun in character though :P The items drop with a description of who to contract them to and for what purpose on the research components.

CCP why dont u put all the lore stuff in CQ ?

- Scope videos on screens. (good opportunity now ur moving to webm for ur video content)
- Announcements and chronicles on screens

- Would be so cool to eventually have a eve tv style (in character) in-game news service displayed on CQ screens that talked about player happenings like sov news, live events, big pvp battles, economy and lore events/activities. I think it would really help new players to get into Eve and learn more about the player vs player / Player events side of the game.

- also add achievements to CQ. like trophies and corpse displays of best pvp kill etc. People would pay serious aurum to mount the head of their enemy on a plaque. People love the killmarks... ur missing out on serious revenue by not putting stuff like fishtanks / trophies etc in CQ

- trophies and eve lore would finally give CQ a purpose.

Also... put CQ IN CITADELS !!!

Put news on bilboards in space, just the news. You will get rid of IGB eventually, yes? It will be a great occassion to put it there and use it as live events news and general fiction rumor mongering.

Pretty sure this has been suggested before, but it'd be great if the captain's quarters played the Scope Video reports for us. And if we could get the news feed linked into it so that it either prints the text or we can click the screen and open the in-game browser directly to the news feed. :/

The videos would be a nice touch.

There is also a news ticker that constantly scrolls across the top of the screen. Clicking on the news articles as they scroll past will open the browser to the relevant news article.

And indeed the Upwell news is right there on screen.

People who eventually live in Citadels will be out of luck though.. no interiors.
