The fact the Tshirts have been a 100% item is the biggest let-down to me. As it means that people end up with hundreds of them.
Maybe we're supposed to give the extras to the less fortunate and then all wear them on Christmas day.

A possible way for CCP to make Frostline/Harvest loots more interesting:

  • Identify about 300 different items as possible drops.
  • Classify each item as either ultra-rare, rare, uncommon or common.
  • For each site, drop one rare, two uncommon, and four common items.
  • Have a small chance for an ultra-rare (eg, PLEX) to drop instead of the rare.

Pick the possible drops so total value of a typical site is about 10 to 15 million ISK, with the ultra-rare items ranging from 50 million up to 1+ billion.

One of the things I find so mind-numbing and uninteresting about PvE in EVE is how little variation there ever is - every Worlds Collide is the same as every other Worlds Collide. Providing a wide array of different possible loots might keep events like this a bit more interesting, even though it's not any more lucrative than getting the same Quafe over and over.

Just go find a WH and blitz the sites, after a few you'll get something decent.

Totally agree.

The amount of time invested compared to the reward has been disheartening.

Blood raider event I felt as though I was accomplishing something positive for my character.

Frostline? Yea, I feel like more and more of an idiot with every one I do.

Time invested?

it takes about 7 minutes to clear a site for a minimum of 15mil worth of crap. (hint: wait to sell the quafe).

not to mention the fact that there's a chance to get a PLEX, among dozens of other items...

Got a Drone Chip, got a ton of Quafe, got some faction and storyline modules.. Lots of goodies...

Really, this is the worst troll post I've seen in this thread this far, hey look we ganked a ship and got loot, woohoo. Although your attempt at showing off is hilarious. Troll 1/10. Hilarity value 5/10.

... 7 sites so far, ~5min each, one add. clothing drop, else standard only. Had no luck yet with bigger piles in WH, only got a Venture. Blink The motivation is not that high, because you are just hunting this one rare drop instead of quite steady income. But I admit it being difficult to find a new consumable everybody wants, without crashing established markets (quafe zero had almost zero market). Let's see what adjustments will be made over the next weeks ...

Seriously? The rng gods must hate you. I ran like 10 sites in highsec, got absolutely nothing special, then the moment I went into a wormhole got a frigate drone chip and a 4% medium hybrid damage implant. First 2 sites I ran.

You must sacrifice to bob!

It seems wh be getting the goodies.

Did you read my initial post? All sites I've done this far have been in wormholes.

No actually it's people like goons, code, off grid boost, ccp allowing some to cheat in the alliance tournament and others not as well as all the bittervets who try and keep the game from evolving that are whats wrong with this game.

Crimson Harvest was way more fun than Frostline so far.

In ch there was reasonable certainty of a reward dropping that most everybody wanted. For me, it was about every 3 sites that i got the booster. More importantly, the sites spawned frequently -- they always seemed to be up - sometimes more then one in a system. As a result, there was a lot of traffic in the sites, which lead to lots of pvp.

The frost sites seem to spawn much more infrequently, and have a much poorer chance of dropping any thing good. As a result, there is not the same urgency to run these sites and there is a lot less pvp imo as a result. Overall, imo frost is no where near as fun as cs as a result.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

For the sake of completeness, I looked up the lyrics of the christmas carol I was refering to in my last post. I was slightly amused by how appropriate it was in regards to this thread.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly, Fa la la la la la la la!

'Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la!
Don we now our gay apparel, Fa la la la la la la la!
Troll the ancient Yuletide carol, Fa la la la la la la la!

See the blazing yule before us, Fa la la la la la la la!
Strike the harp and join the chorus, Fa la la la la la la la!

Follow me in merry measure, Fa la la la la la la la!
While I tell of Yuletide treasure, Fa la la la la la la la!

Fast away the old year passes, Fa la la la la la la la!
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses, Fa la la la la la la la!
Sing we joyous all together! Fa la la la la la la la!
Heedless of the wind and weather, Fa la la la la la la la!

Don't anger the forum gods.

You're right guys, these sites are awful, RNGesus hates you so CCP should fix their game or just roll them back and pretend they never happened. [/sarcasm]

This is a signature.

It has a 25m signature.

No it's not a cosmic signature.

Probably.

Btw my corp's recruiting.

If you don't like them then don't run them.

The Quafe Zero is a reasonable base reward (just do not sell it now).

The t-shirts (as the abaddon skins before them) really should only drop occasionally, chuck in some faction ammo instead.

It's not much different from combat sigs, the overseer's personal effects are a given, you're playing for the chance at the 1B isk faction drop...

Drop rate for combat sigs are more then reasonable. Operation frontline drop rates are crap.
