This is my last and final post on these forums as my subscription runs out in a matter of hours. I will not be renewing, no one can have my stuff and I take my accounts out with me.

I asked CCP for content and they delivered. We have citadels coming, FAUX machines coming and a MJD destroyer that makes small gangs targets of crafty maneuvering by large numbers of opposing players with command destroyers.

I asked CCP for content, should have clarified I wanted it for something other than Null sec. But alas, Null is the hill they wish to die on, they can do it without me charging up it.

Good luck, and good night.

You unsub, I just subbed back again week ago. See, EVE not dying nor growing. All is well. Lol

On serious note, MMO as genre is bit slow these days. EVE Online is not the only one that stalemate with subscribers. Even most popular mmo World of Warcraft has dropped from 10 million to 4 million in a single year. If you really want to know what really is dying, it is RTS genre.

BS, either you'll be back (despite my most fervent prayers to every deity i can think of including the Spaghetti one), or you'll never leave in the 1st place but refrain from posting on this Alt of yours.

And it will be for the same reason(s) as the others who have made a big huff about leaving they came back (two of whom are posting in this very thread). It will eat you up inside to think that you "lost" some kind of fight to people you don't like. And you'll play other games, and you'll realize (but won't admit) that they are all shallow, grindy nothingness compared to the forever-experience called EVE. So shallow that they won't even be worth arguing over, and you LOVE to argue over stuff.

Oh yes, you will come back (again, that is if you leave at all), but you will pretty much damn near hate yourself for it. And I'll still be here waiting for you, might even take a picture of myself with a knowing smirk on my face and mail it to you, just because.

It's mostly because I hate most of the forum users and would like the game shut down for the sole reason of shutting down the forums.

But sadly the numbers have stabilized with the Steam sale so the end of the forums will have to wait.
You say this while you are on the forum and obviously an active subscriber. Here's a thought, why don't you just leave? If I hated the game and the community that much I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

Twisted
Why? Sad

Ah yes, because you don't read posts and assume I hate everything when really there's simply a bunch of stuff I'd improve, which you disagree with.

The truth is that you are barely one step removed from Tardbar when it comes to hatred of the community and forums (which you call 'toxic') and only slightly more removed when it comes to the actual game itself (which you think is somehow 'too easy' for the ...exact same people you think are toxic).

Don't pretend like you are an EVE cheerleader, you know you aren't, you know you called Elite more fun (as one example) and decried how EVE is so unfun you don't play it nearly as much as you did in the past. Hell, you just posted

You criticizing Tardbar for being just a little more harsh towards EVE than you are is highly hypocritical.

But hey, go on ahead thinking that It's just me and damn near everyone else you argue with mistaking who you really are, if that makes you feel better.

I tried to leave EVE twice, the first time I was gone for 3 years. It kept coming by giving me puppy eyes, in a bowl, so I came back. The second, time was gone almost a year. Now I am on the verge of my longest concurrent play time, have gotten ~30 people to come play, most have stayed, some have gone... but this game isn't for everyone. It is also not like anything else, other games don't love you back. They make you think they do, but in the end you are treated like everyone else.

So, love EvE, Don't and you get the couch in the garage.

While the most vocal elements tend to be pretty toxic that's not even remotely close to the truth. I could go into it further, but you won't bother reading it and will undoubtedly be straight back to the same incorrect conclusion.

Oh I'm sorry, I forgot that there is only one level of fun and anything else I hate. I enjoy cycling quite a lot, but I enjoy swimming slightly more, so I guess I hate cycling. Is that how this works?

Jenn aSide wrote:

Yes, and the fact that I still have the ability to say that and I'm not saying on a different forum "I dropped 18 accounts recently" shows that I don't hate EVE.

Jenn aSide wrote:

Not really. He's literally stating he wants the game to die to get rid of the community. I'm saying I want to see the game live on for many years and there's some serious choices and changes they'll have to make to do that. If you can't see the difference there then you are beyond help.

Jenn aSide wrote:

It you and a handful of others. Most people dislike me because I'm fairly opinionated (like many EVE players) and I don't back off when they stamp their feet and scream. You like to insult and attack people and hope that will make them back off so only your opinion gets heard, and what really threatens you is that I won't just shrink away because I couldn't give two ***** what some random on the internet thinks about me. I'll fight to the bitter end for what I believe is the right thing to do to keep this game enjoyable for as longs as I possibly can.

Anyway, I'm done discussing your feelings once again. Keep it on topic or sod off.

We aren't discussing my 'feelings', we are discussing your hypocricy (along with your ability to project, lol "stomping of feet" when you have WAY more posts than I do).

IMO you're as much a hater as Tardbar is, as insane as I think people like that are (paying for a game they really don't like), at least he is being honest.

Ah, but the question is then, do you have full confidence in CCP to continue favouring EVE as their primary product or do you think there's a possibility that they'll divert more attention into Valkyrie as that product is now to be bundled with hardware and as such will likely achieve greater numbers.

From my point of view there's changes that EVE needs to keep up with competition and just to keep it fresh, but the likelihood of seeing those changes any time soon is shrinking. They've highlighted issues with PvE they want to sort out but given a timescale of years on them. I also note that even their release names seem to be seeing less effort with the latest one being called December.

I don't have confidence in the whole MMO industry, what's been happening with MMOs for a while now, is a tendency for new content to push you into doing the content.

Eve oddly enough remains one of the better ones, as long as they don't try to follow the direction those other companies have taken.

As you know I was playing GW2, but finally gave up with it thanks to their new expansion, it's so repetitive made worse by linking an integral part of the game to achievements. Achievements should never be linked in that way.

Playing ESO atm, although it passes the time, there's signs that I'm not really enjoying it that much. Tell-tale sign is I keep reinventing my character.

As for EvE, I think I spent a lot of time playing something else whilst training this character that I've become detached from it. I can fit t2 small turrets (rockets, light missile, lasers, hybrids, projectiles) as well as able to fly some t2 frigates (Minmatar and Caldari, assault frigates and interceptors) so there's no reason in that respect.

TBH, I'm starting to become detached from the whole gaming industry.

****, ain't that the truth. I've been unsubbed for nearly 3 full years. I just resubbed my main. While I don't hate myself yet, I'm still hesitant. I was curious as to the state of the game currently. I'm not sure what I'll actually be doing in game, but I'm def going to try to limit my play time and take it real casual.

And yes, most games of any genre feel "hollow" IMO. Eve has always been more than a game to me, it is as rich and diverse as you wish it to be. It is one of the few games where the meta is just as, or more important than, the game itself.

Quick update. 30-day trials are gone and CCP has shifted back to the old 14 days trial (21 days for invites), plus now starter packages will include 20 days of free trial (guess this means that they'll get a total of 64 days of gameplay: 14 trial, 20 extended trial and 30 from the first month).

I don't thnk that this means anything (maybe that little players subscribbed during those extra 16 days), but I was feeling lazy to start a thread this news item. Bear

EVE can only survive so long running without properly refreshing itself though, and whatever they do, if they phase old content out and new content in it will always look like you're being pushed into new content. The alternative is to stagnate, and that's a one way trip to not existing.

It's not content that's always the issue, it's how the content has been woven into the rest of the game that tends to dictate to the player if they need to do it or not.
