Maybe in your world there is no need for thanks, but in the real world, thanks cost nothing, but mean a heck of a lot to those that get it.

As for just doing the job - things break. planes break down, delays happen, servers can too. people do the job to fix it.

If you were not thanked for a 48 shift (illegal BTW) then you have rubbish managers and rubbish clients. Dosnt mean others dont deserve a little appreciation for working hard and getting things done.

Politeness costs nothing - spend a little!
