Used to happen every single patch back in the day.

The joke about 'Make sure you put a long skill in queue on patch day' was 100% legit.

Haven't had this length of downtime in years though.


Remember that time the server went down for like 24 hours? They had to give everyone SP to make up for it lol....


I don't remember that, it must of been during my break from Eve. That'll be great if they did this, this time around. But then again it might have been due to the skill queue only being limited to 24 hours. Now that you can pile up to 50 skills they might not be so forthcoming.

o_O I suspect Eve has more in common with a SharePoint cluster fed by a SQL cluster which pulls/pushes to an Exchange farm with 4 different DCs, 20 different sub-domains, on like 300 VMware servers, each running 20 linux VM images which are all remote of course from the eve NOC in iceland......so I bet it isnt as easy as restoring from a windows Restore Point.

Hell it might not even be the patch that did it......there could have been an IP release upon check/renew just waiting to happen in one of the hosting center's DHCP servers that was incorrectly set 3 years ago.

Memory Leak ......dead drive, failed secondary switch, a cleaning person, poorly placed water cooler or even a mouse.......hell I once saw a ladybug cause a power outage to a whole city for 17 hours.

please try to change you'r wording: NO ETA FOR UPTIME YET.

This we read for Greek issues for a couple of months(years) now. Be more human, try to tell us we don't know, we don't have an idea. We're humans, give us a chance. And respond to professionals why you don't do a rollback. Why?
