I've returned!

I've updated the IGB POS Planner to 0.62 and with it the recent (ish) changes to POS modules, including removing the Medium Refining Array and adding the Personal Storage, Compression and Thukker Component Assembly Arrays.

(info on further updates later in this thread)

http://eve.1019.net/pos/

Over the next week or so I'll be implementing some deeper changes, such as UI optimization and what not.

Let me know if you see any mistakes, and have any suggestions for future updates!

Thank you to everyone who's contacted me about the tool, and I hope the time it was out of date wasn't enough to deter anyone from using it.

Thanks for this planner! I use it all the time.

Just a semantics thing, but I believe the X-Large Ship Assembly Array has been renamed to Capital Ship Assembly Array and the 'old' CSAA has been renamed to Supercapital Ship Assembly Array. Also the XLSMA no longer needs sov upgrades to anchor, I believe it's just confined to nullsec and wspace now.

Welcome back to Eve and thanks again for your planning tool!

Ah, thank you for those corrections, I missed those, and just updated them accordingly!

EDIT: Whoops, misread. I've corrected the XLSMA needing Sov Upgrades to anchor, as well.

Great to see this tool getting some updates again, I like it and use it a lot, despite it being oudated for as long as I've known it.

Don't forget to add some proper pricing information (especially for faction mods which are all at 0 atm) and to change the Moon Harvester from <0.4 to <0.5
Might also be a good idea to make the core tower a clearly visible flexible option, so that anyone can move whole setups made for one tower type to a different one and then just adjust it according to the fitting limits.

That's awesome to hear, apologies for it being outdated for so long Sad

This is something I've been sort of grappling with. When I first started the Planner, I was using the base material prices that CCP provided way back when for the structures. Now, things are much more fluid as the modules are produced by players, and prices can vary (somewhat) especially with the faction modules. Without me manually inputting the prices every so often to help compensate, I wonder if it's even worth representing the values of modules at all since I really can't offer a valid price quote. Maybe there's a way I can link to another site that does; I'm open to suggestions on that front.

I've corrected the Moon Harvesters security restrictions. As for making the CT flexible, that's a really great idea, and I'll work on implementing that in the near future.

Thanks for the feedback Smile

Thanks for keeping this lifesaving tool going!

One suggestion, reporting two values for available storage: one for SMA totals, and another for all other hangars.

Eve-Central usually provides automatic price updates for a variety of tools, such as EFT and could be probably used here as well if you know how to do so. May even be possible to do it directly via the CREST API now, as I heard the market data is already available via that.

As a simpler variation, you could link to the Eve-Central pages for the individual items.

Yes, eve-central should suffice for the start. Put up a note for users, and they should be ok with that. Market history as well as market orders are available via CREST, the latter requires a you to register your app on https://developers.eveonline.com. Not sure if the latter is as good as eve-central, which offers a better aggregation imho. Both should do to provide users a rough estimate on how much their setup will cost.

Update for version 0.62:

*Implemented Updated Tower and Module Price evaluations, imported via EVE-Central market API. Prices are cached for 12 hours.
*Added Ability to Swap Current Tower
*Rearranged UI Elements for better presentation

Thanks for all the feedback in regards to the price evaluations. I went ahead and implemented methods for pulling from the EVE Central market API, but only if a particular tower or module hasn't been price checked in over 12 hours to help prevent load on their servers. I'm pulling the lower-end sell prices from The Forge region, and hopefully this will result in useful price estimations.

Let me know if anyone encounters any errors, bugs, or has further suggestions!

1. Could you please include faction POS mods as well? I switched from your POS planner to a self-built one a while back, and the only reason I did so is because faction POS mods are just so wildly different from regular mods (both in fitting and in their main stats).
Edit: I can write up a query to just grab all POS mod stats from the database dump for you, if the issue is that you're inserting them by hand. If we don't have any programming languages in common I can just make it an .exe.

2. Since you've last updated the site, tests have been carried out to confirm the fact that POS Shield Hardeners use the same stacking bonus penalties as ship shield hardeners, and that the resistances displayed in-game (and hence on your site) are in fact just wrong.

Edit: oops, looks like a lot of other people flagged this already - sorry to add to the noise!

Cool to see you updating this!

Any chance you could fix the shield hardening array resistance stacking bug? Your tool matches the in-game display, but both erroneously fail to account for stacking penalties. Simple testing proves that the arrays are subject to normal stacking penalties.

See these links for more information and proof:

Faction mods should be available to add, just click the "Include Faction Mods" link and that should add them all to the dropdowns. Let me know if you're not able to do this.

As for the shield hardener math, I will absolutely look at the links provided and adjust the calculations with the planner, and let you guys know when that is complete. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Hi,

Sorry if that has been asked already, but having an estimated price for the required fuel would be very nice.

Also, I hope you don't mind, when I saw the changelog this morning I was pretty happy to see recent updates so I posted it on reddit.

Update for 0.63:

*Modified shield hardener calculations to be in line with actual in-game stacking penalties per EVE community research
*Provides estimated fuel costs for fuel duration being calculated

Please let me know if the math roughly works out to what the community estimates have provided, from my initial testing it seems to be correct, but I mine might be slightly off.

Thanks for updating the POS planner!

I noticed there's a bug when you add a new module, it seems to remove all your offline modules (even after building the URL manually).

Apart from that, it's working well :)
