Do the NPC final blows count POS guns too?

If not, that's an awful lot of freighers, JFs and rorquals to be lost to rats. I can understand (somewhat) losing capitals to level 5 missions or sleepers, but industrial ships?

Edit - I think I misunderstood the graph. Is that kills made by the particular race? If so, I can understand the numbers if it includes CCP pilots in incursions.

How about comparing the number of kills in highsec, lowsec, and nullsec against the populations of those areas to work up an estimate of number of ships destroyed per capita? That would be an interesting statistic to see.

Also I see that wormhole space isn't given its own category and is lumped in with nullsec.

This is pretty cool.

I'm interested in more information in the tech level graph; specifically, while Navy Faction and Pirate Faction ships are technically T1, they are much more expensive than their actual T1 counterparts (Navy), and sometimes even more than their T2 counterparts (Pirate).

These ships are quite common in PVP, I'd like to see some of these statistics as well!

I can think of two valid reasons:
1) Getting killed in high sec by customs for smuggling or much more likely by low faction standing and bad autopilot route.
2) Getting killed in a gatecamp in nullsec while there happened to be rats on the gate which by pure luck managed to get the last blow in.

What stands out the most to me is Loren Gallen, an '08 player, is #3 in kills, while #1 and 2 are both '03 players. Props to you Loren.

I dont see anyone asking, but this is EVE, I know the rest of you want the other end of this story too. The biggest losers. While I doubt CCP is cruel enough to list the names, a run down on the numbers at the opposite end of the spectrum would be good for laughs.
