A New Star Event - Possibly?

While sitting in the Region of Tash-Murkon, the Jinizu solar system and looking at the Caroline start/nova it seem to me that the star up and to the left was unusually bright and similar to what the Caroline event started out being?

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

Naw. Looks like just another star. Zoom in on the ones on the lower right of the big one. You'll see they look similar.

Taken a lot of time trying to find anything out, a lot of us have. But we got mostly squat. It'd be nice if we got a bone but vOv

If it is a new star it should be named "Omega Tron" :-)

Caroline's star began with large elongated/vertical rays had a noticably hue. Your picture doesn't exactly fit the bill, though that's not to say that all such events have to happen in that manner.

The event was also witness simultaneously across all systems in Eve. If you were to move from system the system you should continue seeing the star at noticeably brighter levels. If your star doesn't do that, then again it doesn't fit the bill.

No, it looks like this IS a new Bright Star. Someone else has a similar image from another region without a nebula obscuring it.

Much further out, but it looks like the same anomaly. Currently labeled Vera's Star, though.

I'm seeing nothing appropriate on the correct bearing from Everyshore, unless it's somewhere in the New Eden cluster itself. However I do have about five stars that look the same around the system view, which are all my neighbouring stars, I think that's just the closest neighbouring star.

This can be easily tested by setting autopilot routes two or more jumps long.
