Running eve in fixed window mode, noticed when I minimize eve to do other things that my system is really laggy and the mouse stutters really bad. Closing even of course fixes the problem, the problem itself is much like the way the new-ish animated maller log-on screen made my computer lag like hell if I minimized eve while it was being displayed. Makes doing anything while eve is minimized a real hassle.

Oh and I noticed the patch notes for the client update #2 are blank, embarrassed about something maybe?

windows still won't resize downwards like they always did before crucible, instead they will only resize upwards in window blind fashion.

EDIT: the scanner and overview will resize downwards, but no other windows will

tired of windows opening where ever they please, like my ship maintenance array window opening stacked with my cargo hold sometimes even though I've never stacked it with my cargo ever before, and it's a different size every time I open it, along with my corporate hangar window and any wreck/cargo container windows. wtf is this madness?! items and ships windows in stations also stack themselves onto my cargo hold window too sometimes, seems like the UI is just doing whatever it wants and nothing I want.

there's also this problem of boarding a ship from a SMA where sometimes grouped weapons appear to be ungrouped but upon checking in the fitting screen they are in fact grouped. Since the new little button to group or ungroup weapons disappears under these circumstances the only way to fix it is to break the group and then group them weapons back up. What I mean by "they appear to be ungrouped" is that instead of just one button for all the weapons displaying the little red number indicating how many weapons are in that group, you'll see a button for each individual weapon in the group even though the fitting window clearly indicates the weapons are in fact grouped. This is a leftover from the bug that arose when incarna was released and while they more severe part of it (weapons really getting ungrouped each time a ship was boarded) was fixed in a patch this lesser bug was never addressed and it only happens sometimes with seemingly no pattern or circumstances leading up to the bug. This has been going on since incarna and it's really annoying to not be able to just jump in a ship and go because I can no longer have faith that my modules will all be online and grouped as they were when the ship was stored.

Also after logging in after the "Entering Space" box disappears and normally you'd be in full control of your ship, I get a black screen for up to 20 seconds while i can hear my ship warping to it's destination and sitting there. Corp mates have confirmed that my ship is just sitting there in space even though I can't even see my controls yet to cloak my ship. This is really a problem, I make it a point to log in a cloaky ship so upon logging back on I can immediately cloak so as not to scare off any potential prey, having my ship being uncloaked for up to 20 seconds without being able to do anything about it is not acceptable. As per a post i made a few pages back about this very issue, what if I were to get disconnected while I was scouting an enemy POS, only to log back on and be able to do nothing but listen while the POS locks and destroys my ship and even possibly the occupants of said POS fly out and blow my pod up too? There's ample time for such a scenario to occur since the patch and it really is unacceptable.

The following issues should be fixed in an updated client near you soon™:

Locking pinned windows in position.

please do separate locking a window and setting its transparency! i do want locked windows, but not neccessarily have them transparent! just make it an option in the options layout box, there is still space for 1 slider on the bottom! pretty please.

When Alt-Tab'ing between clients and any other application I often get an 'Outside Looking Range' warning when clicking anything in overview, even though the 'Look At - Click Target' message that displays when you hold the Alt key isn't showing.

Seems to be lots of little things not working right now, hope you're still getting enough sleep !

hitting warp+jump button the warp will start, but sometimes, after arriving at the gate, you will NOT jump.

please see bug report 120892 from about a week ago. i provided 5 logs of 5 incidents. please tell me if you need more, it is still happening and additionally to missing some voice feedback, you never know if you have or will jump.

Locations sorting in the context menu in space is non-existing.

First of all, in some systems i have "Personal Locataitons" that contains submenu with all my folders and individual locations, and in some systems my folders and individual locations are placed in the content menu itself, below "Personal Locations" item. The second variant, by the way, is more usable, as it provides less submenu levels.

In both cases the order of location folders is arbitrary - it is certanly not alphabetic and it does not follow the sorting order chooses in the People&Places window.
At least the individual locations seems to be sorted alphabetically.

The new font may seem "amazing" or "great" at times, but in all honesty, whoever designed it hadn't been around in the 80's or 90's when designed fonts needed crucial guidelines to adhere to:

"TRACKING" (the space between fonts) is obviously at "0"... but when you look at the printing/font that we are all reading right now... even the information to the left ... underneath my name, for example, has even "tracking".

What does that mean, some may ask? Well, I see "School of Applied Knowledge" under my name. What I see is an EQUAL amount of spacing to the "right" and "left" of each letter, making the "l" next to the "i" next to the "e" next to the "d" in "Applied" seem wonderfully next to each other - spaced and even.

What I DO NOT SEE IN THE NEW GAME FONT is the same guidelines and behavior applied:

The letter "e" (for one example) in the game is too "left aligned" which leaves more space before the next letter... this causes some words to seem out of space or separated unevenly, and this is causing legibility issues, regardless of what font size you choose or scalability you use.

MOST noticably is the oppositely "congested" numeral "0" (zero). It is pushed to the maximum left/right edges but then, when a symbol like a "," (comma) or "." (period) or a ":" (colon) are immediately after the number "zero", it is "wedged" right next to the "right end horizontal line" of the zero character. This makes reading symbology difficult.

An example would be TIME: 08:04 in the lower lefthand menu column is barely noticable. This is not only because the ":" (colon) is immediately set up to display right after the previous "character/number" but also creates problems in reading AND SPACING.

This is most noticable when seeing the "thin" (unboldened) print of the font (something we users cannot replicate) - yet we see it in TIME, DATE, TAB TITLES, MARKET PRICING... The symbols are far more "thin"... and when you use them in an unbolded way, TIME (for example) loses any sense of a visable ":" (colon). So the time may be 10:42 or 01:16 but when you look at those TWO examples alone, you'll see uneven spacing near the "colon"... and to make things worse, the colon is much thinner, and therefore not visible.

This adds to NON-CONTINUITY amongst all letters and numbers. Anyone who has designed a font professionally knows that there needs to be an exacting amount of space on both "left" and "right" sides of EACH letter, number, and symbol. This creates universal tracking...

This "new font" is LACKING that universality.

If you doubt it, take a look at the lowercase "e" in any situation: especially the market, but even in typing mail. The "e" (lowercase) is "left-side heavy" and therefor places 1 pixel (or so) too much extra space on its other (RIGHT) side before the next letter/symbol/number. This is more visible when you select an item and have it "emboldened"... like the price of something when purchasing/selling an item. Also see in the market listing... especially when "zero" is involved. Right now any of us reading THIS text/forum IN A BROWSER, will see the evenly spaced lettering made by the pre-existing (and functionally made) font. I see it in the predefined typeface we all see "beautifully" under our portraits ( definied in the source code as style=display: inline; float: right; font-weight: bold; text-align: right ) and even the undefined font my browser is using to type this text - which is very different. What they all have in common is even spacing on each side of each letter. Especially the "e" which seems to be one of the few (but several) problematic characters in this "new eve font"...

If I typed "New Eve Font" in the game, we'd see a slight bit more spacing to the RIGHT of each instance of the letter "e"... and this breaks up the words formed by the letters.

This has been, as a font designer/editor in my personal RL careers for 20 years, something that I'm wrestling with as I am "trying to LIKE the new font" but I simply can't.

What makes it worse is that we have the only option of seeing the "normal" (slightly boldened) version/thickness of the font in all things... EXCEPT when the UI uses a special THIN (or as some may have come to know as "NARROW" version of the font)... this NARROW verions means almost a 1 pixel line version of the font that us user can NEVER user: "possibly anti-aliased", but nonetheless, a problematically visual situation in: the CLOCK TIME, DATE, MARKET VALUES, LISTINGS of the "very much BROKEN" CORP BLUEPRINTS section of the Science and Industry tabs, as well as labels for all tabs of most windows, including the tabs for chat windows, hangars, etc.)

This is hurting the eyes for several people. Myself included.

The solution, after reading the Feedback AND the Issues pages seems to be almost 50/50 for all people... at least as in "all people who have chosen to bother voicing their feedback and issues" here.

This is one of a myriad of problems, but it is something we all want boiled down to:

OUR CHOICE.

Half of us love the new font. Great. I'm very happy for you people who love it.

Half of us dislike it, hate it, or "can't put our finger on it, but we don't like 'it'." Well, there in itself lies a problem:

If anything is supposed to be "great" about any EVE upgrade, it should be to give its paying users who wish to continue playing the game: A CHOICE.

It may be personal for some, it may be visual/medical for others. The reason shouldn't be the issue. The issue is in the flaw of the font's CURRENT design. The solution is to fix it and/or give us a choice.

CCP, please listen to this guy, perfect explanation of the problem

Hi,
Some great and long overlooked fixes in crucible, but a still a few little things need to be looked at:

1. Bring back pinned windows please! an interface i can rely on not to resize or minimize unless i'd like it to is handy in combat.

2. Give a choice as to whether a bookmark is in the personal folder on right-click or not. It's just an unneeded menu layer to go through for most used bm's or getting out of situations quickly.

3. Find out the reason for the increased client lock up on ship loss.

Haven't played since early Incursions, back now for the 5 free days. Here's a few issues I've noticed:

Combat lag much worse; but expected with the higher res graphics I suppose.

Republic Fleet Firetail seems to have no texture...looks like a wire frame model or something. Cleared the cache, but no difference. btw, I have graphics maxed except shadows off and no AA (and no trails of course).

Skill/augment bonuses still aren't being applied; and the relogin workaround still doesn't help. Been this way since the Incursions release. It makes missions effectively a full level harder. (this is a new clean install of the client)

UI lag is a big problem...any use of the UI causes a client pause of several seconds.

UI scaling only available in the wrong direction>>smaller. I need to make it at least 10 percent larger but can't. This is not scaling, it's shrinking.

The new font is way too skinny, and poorly kerned without anti-aliasing, probably because the expand/condense options were removed. Expanded old font was much better than new.

The new mining/salvaging sound effects are much too loud when they initiate.

Search on the new forums fails often, generates a generic error message.

Edited to add: forgot to mention...the gamma, which has always been too dark, is now much darker. The contrast is much greater as well, so all but the brightest visual details are simply lost in the murk.

All my windows disappear when I alt-tab in and out of game. Sometimes they return, other times they don't. I had to restart the whole game to get them back once.

Starting the game gives 50 seconds of black screen before the login screen shows up. Yes, I timed it. This is rather annoying. Especially when the game crashes and restarts itself.

Also since you've reset all the window settings, I can't get any of them to remember their settings after I put them in their place several times.

Probably an ATi issue but when I load the game I get some sort of Red rubbish graphics on 2 brand spanking new ati 6870's in crossfire. When I exit the game I get my "display driver has crashed and has now recovered". I play several other games and none of them cause this, only EVE. I had the same Red graphcis issue with my previous Crossfired 4890's but the driver never crashed.

Is this an ATi Issue or your game causing this?

Cheers

Still getting this badass lag and black screen immediately after the "entering space" dialogue, meaning my ship is in space for up to 20 seconds at times without me being able to control it in any way. Being uncloaked in unknown space or in any low/null security system is UNACCEPTABLE, FIX THIS PLEASE. As you can tell from my avatar, I'm not happy about this. Also using the new ships in conjunction with a SMA at a POS gives repeated warning messages that the ship doesn't meet the fitting requirements for the oversized weapons that are currently fitted when boarding the ship, usually one pop-up box per fitted turret. Once again, see that avatar? Give him something to smile about would you? He's had a rough week!
