EVE Online: Crucible Issues thread

I really like what you were trying to do with this expansion, and having been fairly vocal about changes I couldn't get behind in the past, it's only fair to say that.

Unfortunately, there are a number of issues for me:


  • Client crashes:
  • This is likely related to alt-tabbing. Every other time when I alt-tab out of the game, tabbing back in produces a black screen, and after ten or so seconds, windows informs me the client is not responding.

  • Load times:
  • When starting up the client, the splash screen display seems normal. Afterwards I'm stuck on a black screen for 6 or so seconds, which did not happen before the patch.

  • Client restart:
  • Possibly related to the aforementioned issue - when the client restarts due to a disconnect, this now takes a lot longer than it used to. I'd estimate the desktop is being displayed for at least 30 seconds before the client starts up again.


OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
Mainboard: MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)
CPU: Intel Core i5 650
GPU: GeForce 315
Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 06)
RAM: 6 GB DDR3-1333

I'm also not a huge fan of the UI tweaks - in particular the new font, which is a lot harder on my eyes than the old one was. I'm also not too sure about the "current position" and "autopilot" display. I can't see an upgraded functionality there, and I think it is a downgrade in terms of layout.

Contracts broken more than they were

old bug :

can only right click on items in contracts if they are in a stack, if there is only one item you cant right click on it to get "find in contracts" menu

new bug:

1 day to finish auction, i got outbid, game still thinks I already won the auction

yesterday I won BPC contract, isk got transferred, i got BPCs, but I cant click on that contract in contract history, game refuses to show it to me

dropping stacks into cargohold of a ship that already has some of the same items as in a stack and you point mouse on one of those items before releasing LMB = STILL WEIRD ERROR, before crucible game was showing "out of space, you need X but the ship has only XXXX" , now it shows "No more units in source location"

Cargo-cans don't remember their position on the screen when opened in-space.

When mining, I'd put the can window next to my cargo hold for easy drag-and-drop. Now when I open a new can, it appears in the middle of the screen again...

Can you please make them remember their position as they have since I started playing eve? :)

Not going through 21 pages of issues to see if this one's listed...sorry. So here it is:

When you open an auction contract, in the area where the "Starting Bid" is listed, if the auction is still on-going, right under the Time Left line it shows: "Tork Norand won this auction"

I'm just looking and not even bidding.

When viewing this characters full body screen on other char the jacket it used to wear is above the NEX shirt. Noticed same thing with one other char using the same NEX shirt.

Tractor beams and salvagers are Very LOUD!! can they please be affected by quieter turret sounds to.

There is actually a bug with auction contracts that show the character name viewing the contract as being the winner instead of the real winner of the contract, such links are circulating in locals around jita.

Need to re-do your filters and select the desired type of site(s). If the filters do not designate a specific site type, signatures will disappear @ about 25% strength when probing.

This was a pretty significant update to the game (for those who probe) and it deserves better publicity.

Not sure if mentioned already but the green lines that "connect" probes when scanning are gone? Not sure if intentional but really miss them. That was a really nice feature.

Confirmation that while you can now manufacture the POS fuel blocks - the tower's fuel bay will not accept them.

15:42:44 Notify You cannot place Gallente Fuel Block in this fuel bay

(Tested on a variety of different towers.)

Tax % is taken off the material's taxable value.

This value is set by CCP and is based off the market values in November 2011
Import is always half of export tax

The taxable value are the same for all items in the same tier
Advanced Commodities: 1,350,000.00 ISK
Specialized Commodities: 70,000.00 ISK
Refined Commodities: 9,000.00 ISK
Basic commodities: 500.00 ISK
Planet Resources: 5,00 ISK


Let me highlight the important part for those of you who have trouble reading:

which is the way it should be. Not a percentage of the low number that some CCP developer pulled out of his ass. There was a giant threadnot about it.

CCP doing it right for once.

Also, side note, CCP I stayed up to buy those new blueprints for the few blocks until 5 AM, totally not cool just springing the fact that you're NOT seeding them on patch day like you announced originally.

Otherwise great job. I might actually resubscribe my other accounts. Keep up the good work.


CCP is doing it wrong, you cant just set taxes on the average prize of the items of the markt. you have to choose a constant value, otherwise it will rise and rise and rise. The prices are rising now, what will happen with the taxes then? they will rise aswell, and quess what? right the prices will rise again after adjusting the new taxes to it.

I disagree.

The filter system doesn't filter until you'd be able to see the type of sig you're scanning anyways, at which point your personal filter system (right click, ignore) would be able to kick in. Now, instead of being able to simply ignore a result that you don't care about it just suddenly disappears while you're scanning if you have specific filters set up.

Significant? Just seems like code for the sake of code.

And I still have no sound in space. All the interface sounds are there, ie button clicks, sidebar noises, but I have no sounds from weapons, gates, wormholes, other players weapons, or any other non-interface noise. PC w/ Windows 7

The significance of this change is that players scanning MUST change their filters in order to scan anything down fully. Otherwise, scanning will end in space-rage. Big smile

The most painful issue which I have not seen a reply to is the Blueprint list issue in Science & Industry. I can no longer see the PE, can't sort the blueprints, enlarge columns, or do most things I could before.

I was hoping the fix would be in today's patch but it wasn't.

There definitely seems to be a problem. The original dev thread indicated high sec Concord owned customs office would double the tax on imports/exports. However, I'm seeing taxes like this and, in the case of basic processed materials, the customs fees are actually more per unit than market prices are per unit (pre Crucible). If this is CCP's intent, there will be massive inflation in the price of all PI related items in the market.

Did someone get the multiplier wrong when they coded it? Perhaps something between 10x and 100x instead of 2x??? Ugh
