The video seems to point to them being exploration sites.

Where are those structures? Around jove space or everywhere in the cluster?

Clearly these sleepers are looking for something and have that single directive to find it.

I had a rather 'odd' assortment of items in my cargohold. Two of the cruisers took a rather long time scanning my ship. Then one of them began to move towards the cloaked structure. I was following directly behind. Before we got to it, a Gila warped in and nuked them both. Sigh...

I had a hunch he was leading me, but will have to wait to see if my choice of items were something they perhaps needed.

I could not get within 5km of the selectable part of the structure. Also, I could definitely hear the sleeper ship.

Did anyone try to cross that scanning beam when the sleepers were scanning that unidentified object?

Gallente Militia officials haven't yet send instructions about these structures and these ships.
As part of Gallente Militia, we're used to so called "non-offensive" targets, and take strong actions against all sleeper ships we encounter. We have, as we speak, destroyed all of these encounterd vessels in Heydieles, Fliet and Deven.

We strongly encourage capsuleers to wipe these invaders when they'are spotted in a system, they are scanning everything, and it doesn't sound good if they succeed in bringing back the data they get to their homebase.

Anyone tried being scanned while holding some of the parts of that Jovian? Smile

Well guys to me this an obvious preparation for a large scale invasion, sleepers scan everything and everyone to gain intel before the attack.

Can't we just live in peace? Roll
It seems like the Seekers just rolled in to gather some informations, and we greet them like we would treat other people (badly).

I will go and tell them that I come in peace. Cool

I tried it on SISI- it didn't do anything there, but perhaps things could be different on Tranquility.

I am starting to believe that seekers will only gather information, and they are not allowed to make anything more than that. We are yet to find what will next phase be. Maybe greeting it in buffer tanked battleships will be wise...

I mentioned this in another thread, and I think that it is the most likely scenario going forward.

This is the precursor to occupancy based sov. Every couple days the sleepers will begin to escalate their efforts to colonize our space since we destroyed theirs (assuming you believe that sleepers are just Jovian Capsuleers).

Day 1-3
Scout system infrastructure, PC and NPC forces.

Day 4-6
Begin destabilizing infrastructure and attacking any PC and NPC presence.
- Reduce Shield and Armor from all Player and NPC Structures.

Day 7
Destruction of Stargate Isolating the region from known space.

This would essentially force people to remain "home" to prevent losing their system to attrition. If not as day 6 approaches players will find that they will only have a structure in structure remaining, which makes for easy conquest by other player organizations. Or ultimately on day 7 lose access to the system through gates, and be forced to either enter via cyno, or WH only.

This also allows for the announced plan to have everything be destructible and for players to be able to build their own gates. If you let the sleepers destroy the gates, you must place one of your own gates to reconnect the system.

Ultimately it will force alliances to actually live in their space, and be active in defending said space, or over time that space will become easier and easier to flip.

Thats my 2 cents anyway.

Personally I am starting to believe that it is a pointless piece of fluff that may or may not lead to something depending upon whether the dev's responsible for it stay with eve to throw the switch eventually or move to riot and it is forgotten about by those left behind.

I don't play, I just fourm warrior.

My final guess: There will be incursions or similar activity centred around countering Sleeper aggression in the next patch.

These incidents are the warning.

Thats most likely outcome, yeah, but i just hope that it will actually be something epic and scary now, something that just makes you go "oh sh**, its the end of times". It would be such a shame for all those awesome lore mysteries and build-ups to end up as just some lame small incursions, like what we have with Sansha now.

Something like direct attack on capsuleers(like sleepers actually directly seeking out players, instead of just sitting in one random system and nothing else) in high-sec and attacks on sov space in null like suggested above would be awesome.

now now

We all know it will actually lead to a much hyped up "live event" resulting in much confusion, TIDI and loss of new players ships (the vets having learnt long ago to avoid these things).
