Over the last months quite a few US based Minmatar left the area. Which lead to the Amarr absolutely dominating US and AUS times while we held EU timezones with little opposition.

So they plexed without getting many fights, then we plexed without getting many fights. It was boring.

Then the usual swing occured. Farmers switched sides, systems fell for the amarr, more famers joined the Amarr, things got boring, more people jumped on the Amarr FOTM train for easy iskies and pvp.

So now there's a very solid Amarr pve force and barely any Minnies left to care.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

GF minnies - Huola fell without a sigh.

That is what I mentioned would happen at the beginning of the burn huola push earlier this year.

The gals saved you first time - no gals any more - no saviour.

We all agree the FW system is massivley ****** up - but to leave without a fight is real minnie style.

Enjoy farming in the ashes of FW.

But if you held opposite TZs how was there easy PVP? Since you had just said that there was barely any fighting.

Another question. If the Gallente are all soooo bored in the Cal/Gal WZ, why did they not even bother trying to help their Minmatar buddies not collapse in on themselves?

Do you guys think that cruiser and battleship gangs will start picking up again now that hotdropping from halfway across New Eden is much harder to do?

Depends if there is a strategic reason to do so. If the attacking team wants to take a large plex and the defending team want to prevent them, it should be a foregone conclusion that battleships be fielded (or at least long range doctrines instead). As with all things in eve its people choice, hard to predict.

Inherent problem with large plexes is that if your enemy is tied up in BS inside the large plex for 20 minutes, why not just run all 3 other plexes in smaller hulls and make net gain.

Some of our guys are looking outside the FW to engineer larger fights and it seems to be working.

There are all sorts of possibilities that CCP could have utilised that would promote use of larger ships.

However I think they were right to fix the capital power projection first.

Yeah sure their eyes are focused a lot on null sec but, if they should recognise that there are a large number of subs that are tied to worn out, burnt out or mature with RL issues players who need FW to offer casual gameplay with fun, variety and meaning.

I think two adjustments would preciptate a more varied battle zone:

1. Bring back a gated Battlecruiser complex
2. At 95% and above contested levels, stop any new novice and small complex spawns and allow only medium & above. (heck it could eve be at 98%+)

At those levels you can be very sure that whoever is plexing the system will have enough people to just run those plexes without problems anyway.

I think it should generally be that you won't get new novice and small plexes when you dont finish med and large ones. Novices should also count less while large plexes should count more. .5% for novice, .6% for small, .7% for med and .8% for large plexes. Something like that.

I completely agree on BC plexes tho, it would be awesome to have gated plexes for BCs. Large plexes just don't work for that.

Well I'm happy with your stance too. I was trying to not be too hard on those that love status quo.

As for different rates of change based on the size of plex, I see no pitfalls to that change either.

I'd like them to change ihubs and have level upgrades destroyable (as ihub hard points - the same as nullsec station services)
Changing the tier system is number 1 priority but there are at least 10 things I think they should do.

EDIT:

Does not matter. The proposal allows for escalation and use of doctrine tactics to outdo the enemy. This currently only happens on rare occasions when someone actually attempts to defend a vulnerable iHub.

Also knowing a system will only have mediums and above at 98%+ gives PVP groups an incentive to take a HAC gang, BC or BS out on a roam.

It might just be the catalyst that draws back the more committed outfits to the militias. We need Tiercide first to stop the flip flop
