Eve must really be dying if you decided to add new feature with configuration and opt-in right from the start.

Is there ANY chance that you could add sound when you get a fleet invite or you miss a fleet invite?

Adding invites to this system is something we want to do but don't have yet, hopefully before long though. Anything added to this system will have the option to have a sound alert associated with it so that would come naturally once invites were added.

Would be cool to be able quickly dismiss popup (or all of them) when they get in your way and you need area below them right now. For single popups right mouse button can be used, like in miranda and other IMs, for multiples - rmb on that popup widget or some hotkey.

Also IM-like status switch please, which controls if popups are shown to you or silently go to history when you're busy.

These are interesting ideas. We talked about whether a fast dismiss button was necessary and haven't added one for now, but this would be a good thing for us to get feedback on during the opt-in phase.

Some UI cleanup is good in my book.

Does that mean that pop-up that will block the rest of the UI will soon(tm) be gone?

Would love to get rid of all of these but we will have to tackle them one by one as we add things to this new system. Some of them are just bizarre and should probably be removed completely rather than moved into a notification.

could we resize the pop-up window?

(for example :

no matter where you put the widget, it must be used up a certain space of screen.

Please no clicking to dismiss. Add an on screen affordance for this. You know like everyone else does. If you want to add a click to dismiss all, make it clicking on the little notification icon.

This is an old feature that's only been used a few times (the only time I remember was the current Neocom with Incursion, I'm assuming there's something else I'm forgetting). Some non-core systems can function both old and new on the client side and get to take advantage of the opt-in.

The problem is that most of the patches between now and then affected everything (like ship balance or whatever). Tooltips probably should have used this feature too.

Sounds good, useful and the whole 'Live Testing Thru Opt-In Directly On Tranquillity' is definitely AWESOME.

Great job, you certainly made the most out of 'popup-gate' (including, for example, the customisation ability right from the start). Blink

Will the wallet change notifications (wallet flash) be moved here eventually? Will they be configurable by type of transaction?

Super Duper Important Question: But can we put it in the center and middle top or bottom of our screen and have it play the Xbox 360's "Achievement Unlocked" notification sound? Not going to lie, I kinda want to do that.

Can we please move any notifications about Sansha's nation expanding their borders to this system as well...

This looks like a nice tweak to tidying up the messaging system.

It would be cool to tie this in with the chat channel highlighting of keywords. The notification could have the message which contained the highlighted word. Clicking on the notification could open the appropriate window scrolled to the appropriate place.

Our team is dedicated to working on the new player experience (NPE) and one of our goals is to eventually remove the existing tutorial and replace it with a much more open-ended experience

Yeah, right.

Remove what has to be one of the best tutorials in the online gaming industry.
Then push the new player directly into one of the most "nooby-hostile" games in the industry even LESS prepared than they were before.

You guys truly do not want new players to change their trial accounts into subscriptions?

If you want new players to thrive in this game, remove the ease gankers have in targeting new players in high sec.
Remove the ability to wardec new corp to death while the new player is trying to learn the game.
Make manufacturing, industry, and non-PvP play easier to understand for the players who are trying to learn this VERY complicated game.
Give Solo miners SOME way to combat being ganked. At this time, miners are simply meat-on-the-stick.

There are ways to make this game "nooby-friendly".

Dying by attrition, most likely.

After all, EvE online is very complicated and it takes a long time to get even the slightest grasp of what's going on.

A great many new players don't want to be FORCED into joining some other players' organization (player corps) before they actually learn the game.

Most new players desire to play solo (at least while they're mining for 'start-up' credits). CCP continues to make the game more complicated for new players and continues to encourage established players to prey on new players (ganking).

So, older players are getting bored (happens to everyone eventually) and new players can't survive in the extremely hostile game unless they adhere to a strict style of play dictated by CCP.

Why would anyone want to play a game so difficult to learn, in which you are regarded as immature punks' fresh meat, and your actions are dictated to you by the company running the game?
