This really does need to stay in. Where on earth are you guys getting the idea from that almost no-one uses this feature? Time was locking your windows down was standard operating procedure for everyone I knew!

This function is realy userful. And does not matter that it have a some bugs. All people use it.
May be you can remain part of them - "pinned windows (and stacks) are not resizeble" ?

You got facts to back that up or you just making stuff up?

Everyone I know in fact sets the lock when pinned so we dont accidently drag pinned windows around, also it is the only way we have been able to historically keep your fail windows designers from hosing us with windows that constantly switch positions and unstack after patches.

This is especially ridiculous if you consider that EVE's FiS interface is a lot of mouse dragging across the screen that is usually framed or even mostly covered by numerous mandatory information display windows.

Today on test I noticed the option to lock windows in place when pinned has been removed.

It used to exist under the ESC | General Settings | Windows section

Can this feature be put back in?

seconded. i use this feature on both my accounts and so do many other people i know

this should not be hard to maintain, and the idea that it is is ridiculous - refactor your bad code if you need to make it easier to maintain.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

The entire point of the pin button was to lock windows in place. Why else would you even have the button?

What we need is two options (in the window itself):

PIN - make it transparent (the little circle w/ dot)
LOCK - make it locked in position relative to the nearest 2 screen edges (a lock icon)

So there would be 4 little buttons in the upper right corner of any UI window (lock, pin, minimize, close).

This would make too much sense.

Locking windowns really isnt that big a deal. People can get by, Im sure. adapt and overcome, EVE Players!

If anyone didn't complain about this before, it is probably because they thought that windows *not* locking when pinning was a "meh :CCP:"-bug and went on to complain about something more important.

Why windows didn't lock when pinned by default, I don't know. But pretty please don't remove this feature, it is *very* useful!

We're recruiting and stuff.

I can only offer you anecdotal evidence that this feature was used by many, many players, but please reconsider your stance.

Locking windows while pinned is the only way to make the million windows you have to deal with bearable. Just how technically challenging it is to have all the windows just inherit from a window class with the lock functionality (you are using inheritance for the common window behaviour, right? Then again just about every window behaving differently for example when it has focus and you press enter speaks otherwise...)?

please give us the option back!

i tested it with the new sisi built and as far i can say, you're not able to resize or to move the "overview" or the "object selected" window... i bug-reported it since its really anoying :(

Removing this feature will have way more impact on my playing experience than all the changes in the papercuts blog.

Might as well get rid of the whole pinning of windows on the same go as it will be useless after this change.

Please put back in. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

My windows are always locked. If not, they get accidentally dragged around and make the already complicated eve interface almost unusable in PvP for me.

Throwing in for the please-keep-this crowd.

Any possible way the feature could be scrapped and re-coded to make maintenance easier?

Pinned windows should just lock by default.

I greatly enjoy resizing and fixing my windows every time I dock/undock on sisi. /sarcasm
