Hi Epicurus, could you try the following first:

1. Open Terminal (From Applications > Utilities).
2. In the resulting Terminal window type the following then hit ENTER: "open Library"
3. You should now have the Library open in a finder window, find the folder called "Application Support" and open it.
4. Find the "EVE Online" folder and open it.
5. Find the file called "config". Rename it to something different like oldconfig.
6. Run your TQ Launcher
7. Attempt to log in to TQ.
8. Success or Failure? Post in this thread please.

If that doesn't work, I have another potential workaround

OSX 10.9.3
MacBook Pro 15" medio 2009
2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB Ram
NVIDEA GeForce 9600 GT 256 MB

Eve launcher shows Tranquility Status (Green) and Online Pilots
Client launches, then the blackscreen with white connection bar fils
Then it takes a little bit and then I get following message:
"Could not connect to the specified address. Odds are that you have not established an internet connection, the server isn't running, or the server address or port number was wrong."

Next to the above I also tried launching the "app/Contents/Resources/EVE Online.app" same results.

I had no issues launching Eve before the Kronos patch, now I have a skill queue dead in the water for 36+ hrs

Strange thing, while on the launcher I see Tranquility status and nbr of online pilot properly, on the client only "server:Tranquility" shows, next to status it keeps saying "unknown".

Thanks for helping me out here...

Hi Tom,

This isn't something we've come across internally. Do you employ any firewalling or internet security software that may be blocking the updated client?

Ive tried running three clients on my MBP, doing a mining OP. I'm having issues. First, I get short freezes. They last from a few seconds long to about 2 minutes. The entire computer freezes, UI, clock, everything, except the mouse pointer.

After a few of these happen, graphic anomalies start showing up. Ships turn white. Stations turn yellow. When selecting a station, the "dock" button is just an empty square. After docking, the background is black and item icons do not show (although I can still interact with the items). I have done a bug report.

I am going to set all the clients to "optimized for memory" and see if that helps. A shame if the new cider client means I have to look at an ugly game.

Update: Optimized for memory did not help, I still get hangs. It does seem to be correlated with other internet activity. The more you do outside of eve (web surfing, etc.) the greater the chance it happens. This is similar to the big lockup bug we have had for years.

Except after this morning's patch I tried again and it did not happen, despite running 3 clients while web surfing. Was there an undocumented change in this morning's patch that could have fixed it?

Not as far as I am aware Vincent. I just tried on 3 different macs without getting a reproduction, this does not mean that I have stopped looking into the issue, rest assured.

Things Ive found that seem to help reproduce the bug:

Keep using the computer. Restarting the computer seems to help prevent the bug from popping up. Longer it's been since a restart, the more it happens.
Move items between ships and an orca, or other fleet hangar, while in space. Doing a mining op is a good way to see this bug. Other posters here say moving a freighter about with a cyno chain can do it too.
Stream something from Youtube while playing.

Even when doing all this, it can be awhile between freezes, like up to an hour. That may be why I did not get one this morning. I was only on for an hour and just got lucky.

The ultimate: Have a torrent running in the background.

Ok, so with the security set to 'allow apps from anywhere' I can now get into the launcher, but the launcher just hangs.: the window has appeared as expected, but when i mouse over it goes into a spinner, and I cant select to type my username or anything in. I'm not being maxed out on cpu, and theres tons of memory free.

Nothing is 'happening' - the bar at the bottom which usually goes across checking the patch, just isn't.

I had also wiped my application support folder to give it a full re-install.

Any other ideas appreciated.

Ok, so now Im at home and can properly fill out the data.

Mid 2009 MBP.
2.66 Ghz intel core 2 duo,
8gig ram,
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 mb
10.9.3

The launcher when run opens, its white for a few seconds, then renders the page. The bar at the bottom is white, and does not progress to yellow. The application is marked as 'not responding' in the application list. Top tells us theres tons of memory, and the CPU is not going too crazy (no fork bombing at least).

It then does nothing. I must admit one time, it went to validating client and got to 10%, but i hung - i left it for some time (30 min(?)) and have force quit and re-opened several times. I generaly leave it 10 minutes or more in this state before kiling it and opening it again.

Tried various things, like rebooting, running with nothing else open, etc. Nothing has helped.

Very frustraited - third day, still paying on multiple accounts to have no skill in training. Not the first time this has happened post-patch.

Since the update I've completely lost all audio... have tried restarting the computer, restarting the client, turning on and off the 'Audio Enabled' checkbox in the Audio tab of the Esc menu, all to no avail. I'm using an external sound card, but have updated to the latest drivers available, and audio is working fine in all other applications.

My specs are as follows:
Mac Pro 3,1 8-core 2.8Ghz
OS X 10.9.3
6Gb RAM
M-Audio Profire 2626 FW audio interface

Any ideas for other things to try?

Hi guys, any idea's? I'm running out of options and frankly out of hope. Unable to play my favorite game and several days of empty skill queue's is getting worse, the detox is killing me...

Are different port's used by the client and launcher, cuz the latter is smoothly connecting to the Tranq Server, while the client can't seem to find his own 'six' ... let alone the Tranq Server...

Only options I can see at this point, pulling a cable to Iceland and connect directly, switching to Hello Kitty online or buying a windows machine, not sure which is worse...

So put in those implants and cook me up a solution.

Cheers TT.

Let' just run over an idea here. I saw you tried the config fix, but have you tried this?
1. Right-click on your EVE Online application and select "Show Package Contents".
2. Expand Contents.
3. Expand Resources.
4. Right-click on your EVE Online listed under Resources and select "Show Package Contents".
5. Expand Contents then MacOS.
6. Open a Terminal window and type"CHMOD 700 " into it (make sure you have a space after 700), then drag "cider" from your finder window into Terminal and hit ENTER.
7. Expand Frameworks and repeat step 6 but with the "wineserver" file.

I tried chmod 007 and Sec. is of ( any ware )

Launcher hang, 101% only way is to launch EvE in app ( EVE\ Online.app/Contents/Resources/EVE\ Online.app )

but, now with new patsy, I need to re down load 9GB.dmg, and instal one on every acc ( I use fast user switching to multi box ) only first admin that installed EvE in /Application can start it.

edit do to new system need ( 10.6.8 is the king ) I have space problem, is their a problem having app ( wasn't before Kronos ) on diff hard drive?

Hi,
Dumb question maybe. How do I get to the "show package contents"? I get lots of choices but not this one? Can you provide a bit more detail on this? Also tried the earlier work around to no effect.

I've been getting the client freeze on multibox logging out/closing a client too.

Maybe be useful to know I am using a clone made with the clonemaker, (because it really is the only way to multibox on osx - everyone uses it).

Tried flushing my RAM before loading up the clients off the back off the previous "gets worse after logging in for too long" comment. No effect. 100% crash rate for me.

Hmm sounds like others are having this issue too.

If I'm running two clients, quitting one causes the other to freeze.
