EVE New Citizens Q&A

One thing I'm missing: many (mostly low sec) corps have a "shoot, then recruit" mentality. Seeing how someone flies, and seeing how someone responds to being shot / ganked, can tell a lot about a person. I've had numerous occasions where someone convos me after a fight, inquiring whether I'm looking for a corp. conversely, new players shouldn't be afraid of venturing into low sec, getting blown up and then convo-ing their killer. At the least you will usually get some fitting and flying tips, and if things click you might inquire about joining them.

This of course assumes your response to being shot is akin to "haha, that was fun!" instead of a stream of gibberish, IRL threats and insults.

With permission from one of the lovely WGOE moderators I included a small note for female EVE players that are looking for a corporation that has other female gamers they can talk to in the event that they prefer to be in a corporation with mixed genders.

Simple goal of the chat: You lost something and want to know why and how to improve yourself. Link the loss and receive the info you need to make yourself a better pilot (either by a better fit, tactics, skills or a mixture of all 3 before mentioned)

This guide is as comprehensive as it is long. OP covers pretty much everything from API's to doing research. Do your research

+1 to this post, an asset to new players.

Just one personal tip I'll add:

Take the time to read the blurbs or talk to CEO/recruiters as part of the process. Try to get them to reveal what their vision is for the future of the corporation. If they seem passionate and what they say inspires you, go with your instincts!
