Matias's work brought me back into EvE after years of inactivity; and he has done the same for over a thousand. We are players who have had difficulty finding our place in a game that demands so much of its players; we want to live in the lowsec / nullsec sandbox without adhering to the insane dedication that those in the dominant Coalitions & Alliances ask of us. There is so much more to this game than endless SP / ISK requirements or calculating success in terms of "ISK efficiency". This new generation of players need ways to fit into the game without being cast aside for having a sub-par amount of numbers on a spreadsheet; I see Matias and BNI as perfect steps in the right direction.

I could not have said it better, when a game becomes an obligation stops being fun.

Even if I wasn't in the Brave Collective, this would be a vote from me. He gets what this game is and could be.

Before I joined BRAVE I thought I was enjoying Eve. Yet, slowly I was logging in less and just not caring as much / burning out. However, upon joining and experiencing the culture of BRAVE due to the groundwork laid by Matias I have enjoyed my playtime more than ever before. Sure, that might not be the case for everyone, but there are quite a few (those ~6000 BNI members) who would agree.

I wholly support this product and or service.

Matias for CSM9!

Yes. Wholeheartedly yes. And here's why:

After reading about some of the shenanigans that go on in this game, I played a 14 day trial, but didn't feel like the game was for me; the game was overwhelmingly complex, and the absolutely huge universe left me feeling disconnected from the player base. I tried joining a corp, but the process was incredibly long and and my application took over a week to process. Between that and getting blown up in 3 seconds the first time I went into Null-Sec, (and not even understanding what happened or why), I decided that while I found reading about the game was fun, actually playing it was not. Thus, I let the rest of my trial days run out. However, I was still intrigued with what was going on in the game, and I would occasionally check forums and message boards to see if anything interesting had happened. Then, about 6 months later, the massive battle in B-R5 took place.

Over the course of the next couple of days, I spent time looking into the circumstances surrounding the battle, as well as the community's reaction. Apparently, news of the battle was attracting hordes of both new and returning players. While I thought it was good news, I didn't see myself becoming part of them. At least until I found someone talking about the Brave Newbies Corp in the EVE Online subreddit. I checked it out on a whim, and seeing all of the thank-you posts, guides, and events that the Corp had been a part of, I found myself willing to give the game another shot. As soon as I finished with the tutorial missions, I submitted my application to BNI, which was processed in under 48 hours. Within 3 days of accepting the application, I had flown in several fleets, got my first kill-mail, and learned more about the game than I even knew existed. My corp mates have been incredibly helpful and active; there's always something going on, and answers and explanations are readily available from the more experienced pilots. In short: BNI is pure, unadulterated, fun.

The growth, (and retention), of the player base is undoubtedly one of the most important things in an MMO, both for players and the developers; something that Matias has inexorably provided in the form of BNI. Within a single year, he has already left an indelible mark on the game. I firmly believe that his election to CSM will allow him to have a larger and overwhelmingly positive impact on the players, the developers, and the future of EVE Online.

As there aren't many non-Braves here I'd thought I'd chip in my 0.02 ISK.

I've been trying for the past year to get my friends into EVE. After the recent battle I've actually gotten a few into it, though it's still a work in progress.

Brave has brought many people into the game and they're here having fun. I know how hard that is and I believe Matias is the right person to make that a little easier.

All three key points he's mentioned are really important to me, I support this candidate.
