New drone exploit - instapops everything

Turns out if you glitch your drones right, you do negative damage, if you do negative damage, the target instapops like a dread.

GG CCP. Failing to do overflow checks on calculations just like the old magnetar exploit.

A single Wasp cannot do 20k damage, regardless if the target has 0% resistances or not. It's simply impossible.

Although, seriously, don't call it an exploit. It's not an exploit unless they're doing it intentionally, which I seriously doubt.

ACTUALLY:

The one thing in common with this and the other incident is that both victims were refitting at the time.
It's possible that the drone hit you at the exact moment that the server recalculated your ship's resistances, etc. and as a result it did way more damage than it was supposed to.

There was no way the dread could refit. It was hostile and neutral to every carrier on field. In fact it was in the process of murdering said carriers.


Also if you noticed, it was a WASP that did 20k damage. A single wasp can never ever do 20k damage, regardless if the ship has 0% resistances or not.

odds are he hit you with them first then switched to fighters. ive seen my points do damage before like that on KMs. Like capsules doing damage too.

Dear person who doesn't read.

The logs show the actual drone inflicting damage is Wasps NOT FIGHTERS. The killmail was only linked for reference.

Are you aware of this thing called a mobile depot? He had one in cargo, which indicates that he was aware of them. If he had more than one and had deployed it, he could have been refitting.
It was said in the eve-kill comments that he was refitting.

I realize that. That doesn't mean, for whatever reason, that the game could glitch on refitting and give the ship negative or >100% resists briefly, or something.
