Think I know what to do for the next one

I was in the pandemonium of the Meves fleet Big smile and I think I know how to make the next one cool, some of this may not be easy to implement though, but!.....

First up make the staging system Orvolle and the destination system PF-346, that eliminates the stringing out effect we achieved during the fleet move.
Right then plainly state its going to nullsec so all the highsec people know what to expect and will be fitted and prepared accordingly (I think that had a large effect).

Right, the site itself is more complicated, first make it something worth defending, what I'm thinking is its a new pirate station/research station so if it survives null gets a new station.
Second the construction of this site should take at least a week so there is no being left out because its over before you get there.
Then spawn actual mining NPC fleets moving between the station and the roid fields that the Highseccers must hit to slow down construction, I was also thinking of industrial transport fleet site spawns but that doesn't make too much sense I suppose.
Haven't quite thought what hisec could get if the station gets destroyed though...mmmm
although I imagine that wont put us off, we did field loads of ships for no reason on the Meves one Big smile

Then its basically a live event that doesn't leave anybody out, has an actual goal results in masses of battles and leaves nobody thinking its a PvE event.
Also gives us time to try and fail at different things to get to the station and apply weaponry.

And everybody is happy....well except the Orvolle residents Straight

Making the event last a week, or even a month, is a good idea. It allows people to get more organized over time. Those who wish to stay in high-sec can still play a part, for instance by setting up supply lines, and generating a steady stream of income to finance the war effort. Also, minor side-events in high or low sec might be added where something can be attained that helps in the fight to destroy/defend the station.

Also, since the event takes a long time, single pilots who manage to sneak into the null-sec system can do recon missions to find out what the enemy players are up to, giving those who want to go into null but don't want to be in large battles a function of their own. All this can happen if the event takes a long time. Of course, CCP doesn't have to be present the whole time, once the two opposing sides are getting organized, they can pretty much take care of themselves in between CCP giving us new information through smaller interactions during the course of the event.

These are good thoughts, To balance it a little place a NPC group that has titans, jump bridges bubbling etc etc (all the null Mechanics) as active allies to The HS fleet to give Highsec experience of Nullsec tools. and the HSfleet can work under their FC until they get the idea.

I think it would be a good move to add a game designer to the live events team who's focus would be thinking about how players are likely to react to the proposed event, and to adjust the plans accordingly. To anticipate player behavior means being able to spot problems like the tidi-conga-line issue before they happen.
Also, keeping an eye on what kind of player will be drawn to the event and what those players find a fun experience is something a game designer can do.

that be a great idea for player made missions...make them events where a certain hangar bay in a certain station be filled incrimentally until the various requirements were met..with the mission being dynamically updated ....be a great way to encourage recruits into feeing engaged involved at a small level but still participating in large ventures.

say make those medals as compensation to particpants as an option.

as for more ideas that seek to be constructive criticism of the fiasco on 7th, why not take a page from fw and have the same sort of idea for recon elements of a mission only seen as a mission destination to a corp bookmark?
say something a player needs to scan somehow to add to missionn completion incrimental so more can be involved?
