EMPIRE NAVIES PUT OUT CALL FOR CAPSULEER ASSISTANCE

You turned this topic into one of the greatest tweets I have ever seen. Good man!

See you all tonight guys Bear

Sorry I did not see you. I was there of course, but CCP was nowhere to be found. I wish to thank you and all other interns and students at CCP for sharing your work experience project. I've had students from highschool who organised events better. So, back to school and then in 5 years, please do try again.

Everybody involved in organising this event at CCP; you really suck hard.

You know, there's a simple solution to this: learn from the mistakes. Don't jump through a gate when your FC has no scouts. If the FC doesn't know about Red/Green, doesn't report expected enemy forces, and doesn't provide leadership, don't follow them.

The things that CCP could have done to improve this event? Plan the route, move the expected combat systems to reinforced nodes. That's it.

The folks in here expecting a hand-holding care bear excursion are the ones who need to change their ways, not CCP. The players can't expect CCP to do their playing for them.

Learn to play: jumping from hi sec to lowsec without scouts? expect a gate camp. Jumping to null sec without scouts? expect a gate camp with lots of bubbles. Expecting any kind of fight at all? Ensure your clone is up to date, have replacement ships available, and be prepared to fly yourself back to the main fleet.

CCP delivered exactly what they promised. The players failed to bring their best game and as a result were soundly whelped.

Please... We were instructed to form at a system 24-28 jumps from the actual staging area, then rerouted en mass (through Twitter, nonetheless) - then finally ordered to commence the jump despite the fact that over half our forces were still en route fighting TiDi. There was zero communication from our FC, who spent more time talking about his favourite songs than actually providing any information or doing anything relevant - like actually leading. Incompetent doesn't even begin to adequately describe it. So yes, I guess under those circumstances we "failed to bring our best game". Roll

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

You probably missed the news article this all started from. The empires asked for capsuleer help. I'll rephrase this for you: empires were going to do something and asked capsuleers to lend a hand. To reincorce this impression, they also sent two imperial FCs, who in turn attempted to look like they were organizing this.

If from the start people were told that "system A has an object that needs to be destroyed, and we ask you to do it however you can", so that there are no false expectations of imperial leadership and support, then people would have taken full control in their hands and done the organizing by themselves. But instead, CCP gave an illusion of leadership, which people followed to their doom.

Could it have been prevented by not trusting CCP? Yes, of course. Is it a good thing? Hardly.

I'm glad I did not put in the effort. The story is the Empires wanted to feed the pilots to killboards? Seriously, it doesn't matter to me but why does CCP even pretend the lore has any relevance?
