Hello CCP Eterne (and fellow capsuleers).

I am interested in Statistics for the now completed Sanctuary Image Contest as the rewards have just appeared under redeem items in my login screen. I am also interested in the total number of valid participants for the grand draw.

My main question is this:

As per the dev blog here :

"5. Your ship must be visible and uncloaked in the screenshot."

How many entrants were disqualified? Most players did not adhere to this rule.

This is the first week's forum thread for post image collections. By post number:

#2 - No ship visible
#3 - No ship visible
#4 - No ship visible
#5 - No ship visible
#6 - No ship visible
#7 - No ship visible
#8 - No ship visible
#9 - No ship visible
#10 - No ship visible
#11 - No ship visible
#12 - No ship visible
#13 - No ship visible
#14 - No ship visible
#15 - No ship visible
#16 - No ship visible
#17 - No ship visible
#18 - No ship visible
#19 - No ship visible
#20 - Incomplete gallery
#21 - Gallery taken down post-contest
#22 - No ship visible

And so on and so forth. I am not continuing to go through the thread but you get my drift.

Fortunately for you guys Marcus Yeon, the grand prize winner, actually stuck to the rules and had his ship visible in every screenshot! (post #420).

In any case could we see some numbers as to how many people entered with invalid screenshots like those I mentioned above and how many valid entries there were?

Thank you.

Edit : Spelling & grammar.

Here is what I would have done (and likely how it did happen):
1. Draw a winner 'prospect' randomly
2. Check if the prospect fulfill all winning criteria as well as not breaking any rules. And then..
3a. ) If checks are in order, announce prospect as winner
3b. ) If not, draw new prospect from pool

Most importantly: Do not waste working hours checking entries from each and every participant as it does not matter if they are not in scope as winner prospect.

If I remember correctly, the thing about cloaking was actually not present in the very first version of the rules that were posted, and people were given a pass on it if they'd posted pictures before the change.

I don't remember that at all and I read both the announcement and the dev blog as soon as I logged in after they were posted.

Edit : Do you mean cloaking or ship visible?

"Visible and uncloaked". A ship can be visible while cloaked as long as it is your own, after all.

I concur. This was later removed for Set 2 and 3.

We will not be publishing these statistics. The total number of players who received prizes is 693.

Were the submissions I have mentioned - those that broke the rules - accepted as valid entries?
