Make ctrl-space a shortcut for 'abort undock'

Its already the "OH **** plz no NO NO STAAHHP" button when you choose jump instead of warp. The shortcut is called 'stop' IIRC so semantically it checks out.

I would like it to be possible to bind a key to bring up the route management screen.

The use case is that I have a route set up, then on the way I decide to call in at an additional location.

Currently I add the new waypoint to the end of the route, then use the mouse to bring up the route management screen and move the waypoint to the correct position. I would like to be able to bind a keystroke to this action.

Not sure if this has been brought up but recently have moved over my eve play to a new comp and its a real pain in the ass to set your clients back up to how you had it before! i feel this could be streamlined not only to make such a process easier but to also help new players get optimal play from their clients. For example:

Having multiple accounts is not all to uncommon in eve, in fact in null sec its more common to have multiple accounts than to just have 1 account, and for capital gameplay its practically critical to have a 2nd account to light cynos for yourself so you can move stuff around.

Quote:
Therefore being able to store all the setting you have on 1 client and export them over to a new client, be it on the same computer or on a different one, would be awesome!
I wouldn't care if it is one big file or many small files for different things. Either alternative would be lightning fast and waaay more accurate than doing it all manually!

Details of what i believe should be included in (but not limited to) this are:

  • Overview settings
  • Window placement locations and sizes
  • Chat channel window settings
  • Neocom Icons and placements
  • Shortcut Keys
  • Notification Settings
  • Hangar window settings
  • Mail Settings
  • Contacts and Contact notes
  • ESC Menu General Settings
  • Advanced audio settings and inactive client mutings.
  • Market Window Settings
  • Browser Bookmarks
  • Wallet Settings
  • Log and Messages Settings (including message in space positions and sizes)
  • Notepad notes
  • Personal Calender entries

of course if there were individual export / import functions for any of these it would make life so much better and quicker for us all when we upgrade / make new accounts / new characters etcetera...

It may also be easier to separate them as a bunch of little things to code into the game rather than trying to piece together a single complex export/import function for all these things.

Suggestion: Enhance context menus with a small number of icons to denote crucial actions. e.g. place a small red trashbin icon to the left of Reprocess and Trash It...
Keywords: UI, quality of life, pokeyoke, oops i did it again
Notes: With the simpler UI style, this iconography could effectively use colour as well as shapes to denote categories of action. The reason to make an example of destructive commands, is that the context menu for an assembled ship has two non-destructive commands sandwitched between them. Adding this sort of categorisation could also help future UI decisions by establishing how commands should be ordered across subsections to be more intuitive.

[_] Reprocess
    Strip Fitting
    Repackage
    -----------
[_] Trash It...

Why isn't Reprocess last, so that the order of commands is successive, and it can be above Trash It...? Because of some other decision that Made Sense At The Time. Straight

Edited: to indent the entire menu and not have unaligned text. Basically adding white space in the left column which occasionally has an icon.

Do not actively tank my patience.

Suggestion: Allow sharing of personal contacts/standings/labels in the same way that overview settings are currently shared
Keywords: Contacts, Standings, Sharing, Account Synch
Notes: If personal contacts are stored on the server (like I assume they are) then it seems to me like it should be possible to be able to share the contact info (name/standing/watch-list/label) between toons & accounts.
My reasoning for this is that I don't necc. want to pollute my corp contacts & standings & labels with my personal ones. In addition - I have neutral non-corp alts that wouldn't benefit from the corp contacts anyways.
But I'd still like the intel that having such contacts provides (e.g. - knowing what standings are set toward a person in local) without having to manually go to each of my toons on each of my accounts and add a label, add a contact, set the standing, and watchlist settings. Anyone else with more than one toon/account knows what I'm talking about.

Suggestion: Configurable D-Scan [Scan] Hotkey client settings
Keywords: D-Scan, Hotkey, refresh, UI, Quality of Life, user experience
Notes: It would be really helpful w/o "automating the refresh" to instead use an optional hotkey for refreshing the d-scan.
This keeps the requirement for human interaction to trigger the d-scan refresh without having to physically move the mouse and click on the [Scan] button every X seconds when doing other things such as running missions or complexes/anoms...

Suggestion: Save drone groups on the server
Keywords: drones, ui
Note: I have a Myrm with 27 drones in 6 different groups. When I switch between my desktop and laptop, the groupings are not carried over.

Suggestion: Save overview presets and tabs on the server
Keywords: overview, ui
Note: Much for the same reason for above - it's annoying to have to duplicate the setup manually.

Suggestion: Radial menu for the Planetary Colonies window.
Keywords: UI, Quality of Life, Planetary Interaction
Notes: When harvesting your PI using the Planetary Colonies window, you can't do the intuitive thing and right-click to click Warp To because that warps you to the planet, not the Customs Office. You need to go through two drop-down menus for one of the primary functions of the window.

A radial menu letting you quickly warp directly to the relevant customs office would improve the quality of my life.

Suggestion: Enable radial menu in survey scan results
Keywords: ui, mining
Note: It already has the context menu, so why not the radial one. It's slightly faster to lock targets with it.

Suggestion: Sort survey scan results by quantity numerically, not alphabetically
Keywords: ui, mining
Note: At the moment "4 123" gets sorted after "11 567"

Suggestion: Add "center map" option to solar system map context menu
Keywords: ui, map
Note: It's currently really painful to center the map so you can rotate around something

Suggestion: Store NeoCom settings on server
Keywords: ui

Suggestion: Store market quickbar contents on the server
Keywords: ui, market

Suggestion: Store current waypoints on the server
Keywords: ui, traveling
Note: If I play on another computer for a while, it's very likely that the route stored on the other one no longer makes sense when I switch back. Alternatively, just clear the route on logoff.

I think there was something else too. In fact, just store everything on the server and be done with it.

Edit: Oh right, that other thing was browser bookmarks. Share those as well, pretty please. Also, yet another suggestion:

Suggestion: Allow repackaging items that are in station containers
Keywords: items
Note: I can move it to the top level hangar, repackage it, and move it back, so why not allow doing it in a single step.

Edit 2: Market filter settings are another thing to store on the server.

  • Suggestion: Colour gate icons to match it's systems security status.
  • Keywords: UI
  • Note: Currently it takes several steps to find a systems security status before jumping into it, making casual roaming harder.

  • ---

This is particular important for anybody who has dropped their sec status. If you're just casually roaming through low-sec without a pre-planned route, it's very easy to jump into high-sec by accident. There is no warning and it currently takes several steps to get the security status information. The time it takes to do this adds up very quickly, and it isn't intuitive to begin with. It's a big barrier to entry for anyone playing with less time to commit.

sugestion: Allow us to select witch corp bookmarks show up on the system compass, this makes it hard to dscan wormholes when people are in our system, also allow us to add corp bookmarks on our overview so we can warp to it like a stargate.

Suggestion: Option to auto-stack items when opening or viewing an inventory window.
    Keywords: UI, inventory, stacking
Note: Currently one has to right-click in an inventory screen and select "Stack All" to stack the inventory. Having an option to make this the default behavior of a particular inventory window (or even all of them as an option) would be extremely convenient and helpful. Esp. when dealing with millions of m3 of space junk/loot.

Show which drones are being used to calculate drone DPS in the fitting window, This would help a lot in carrier and drone ships as you will be able to tell what drone will do what DPS.

Another nice addition would be the capable DPS of a drone group next to the name in the drone hanger window.

Suggestion: Show which of your drones are being targeted & attacked (preferably in the drone interface window)
    Keywords: UI, drones, combat, targeting
Note: At the moment there is no way (that I am aware of) to tell if one's drones are being targeted. All we know for sure is that we aren't being targeted by whichever ships aren't actively yellow/red boxing us.
The icing on the cake would be to go a step further and show us which enemy vessels are targeting which drone.

(Perhaps this can be done in the overview instead of the drone interface control window? Making creative use of that empty space on the right side?)

    Bookmark pop-out window

    http://i.imgur.com/lexEuSt.png

    2 requests regarding this:

Please allow us to resize this smaller than what is shown in the image above (this is the minimum height possible). It takes up quite a bit of extra space if you only have 1/2 bookmarks in the folder.

This window should update if you add new bookmarks to the folder, currently you need to close and reopen this for any new bookmarks to show up, can be very annoying in heavy lag situations or if you need quick access to your new bookmarks.

    Thanks!

Good idea, let me add, make it possible to have this bookmark folder persist between logon / logoff of the client (pin it to neocom). So when logging an alt on the same char and back, you don't have to find the folder again.
