Cheap WH Gas Harvester?

It only has 2 turret slots

2 T2 turrets on a venture collect 160m3 of gas per minute.

Add to that, no need to jetcan most sites.
with a MWD you can burn to the second cloud at 2800m/s faster than warping off and back.
Can fit a cloak or probe launcher in the third high
+2 WCS

there really isn't a substitute for Gas harvesting anymore.

Yes.

Two. (The Venture can only fit two--the third high slot is utility.)

At Mining Frigate V, a T1 fit Venture will outmine a T1 fit Moa, and a T2 fit Venture will outmine a T2 fit Moa.

Now that I got that out of the way, anyway to make the Venture less squishy? I've never really flown them.

Ok, so It's built more for getting out of there quick than taking a hit, that makes sense. Anyone have any suggestions for loadouts? I'm only seeing Deep Core mining setups on Battleclinic.

lol, ysa, any suggestions for a good fit then since getting away is not a real problem? Never used one before, all I can think of are speed setups, and my Moa loadout will not fit.

Dont waste mods on WCS, cargo expansion or any type of hit-point buffering. It has +2, and does not have enough cargo or hit-point to even make a difference for the other two. Anything will pop a venture quickly so your best chance is to GTFO as fast as you can.

You want to take advantage of it's speed and maneuverability.

Rig - speed / align time
Low slots- same as above, whatever you can exploit the most based on skills
Med Slots - a MWD and ECM modes to make you harder to probe
Hi slots - gas harvesters and a proto cloak
You also have drones you can leverage.

If you are paying attention, like you should be, by the time anything pops up on overview you can almost insta-warp the hell out of there, (even if you aren't aligned if your skills are up there). As always d-scan is your friend.

This works for WHs as well as HiSec.

For Rigs, would the Small low friction nozzle joints work? (http://eve.battleclinic.com/item_database.php?id=i31153)
Any recommendations for the Low and Mid? I've some idea on what might work, but still not sure.

Remember MWD orbiting a gas cloud blows your signature right up.

It's bomber bait.

I've gotten a couple of solo bomb hits on MWD ventures, at covops 4 it wasn't enough to 1 shot them (Purifier)

I'm yet to have the opportunity to test a Nemesis with covops 5. It might do it with that. Venture has overall lower Therm resist IIRC.

I got a 690 (ish) hit with EM, (covops 4) and while it would've scared crap out of them, (structure) it wasn't enough to insta pop.

I can easily get within 10kms of orbiting farmers and regular tackle them, then Torp them to death but it takes ages and it's no fun.

He has a point however. It's a frigate, for gas mining. You have 7 mod slots to work with, 2 of which are a given. It took me all of maybe 90 seconds when i first got them to come up with a workable fit for gas mining in WH space.

If a Moe and Venture where similar in design, it might hold, however, I've never flown a Venture before like I had said, I had no idea what I am working with or how it might compare.
It's like saying you should know how to set up a Typhoon for lvl 3-4 missions just because you've done them with a Drake before, that's ridiculous. Yes, you might have SOME idea, them both being Missile Boats, but they are different in their setup and handling, and if you set up a Typhoon like a Drake, you will have one less Typhoon.
