+1 for the option to disable the animation.

I monitor my Core Temps, CPU, and HD temperatures etc, on my computer because it is essentially a large laptop and laptops are prone to overheating. I see temps spiking 5 to 8 celsius when the jump animation occurs. I'd like to turn it off just for that reason alone. I hope my "whining" doesn't upset your delicate sensibilities. Do you guys get paid to shout people down on the forums or are you "Trolls of Fortune"? Just saying it's fairly obvious... Roll

Change is the only constant. I will even adapt to blatant absurdity. You know who you are.

The new jump animation introduces too much lag when multi-boxing. is there a way to turn it off? If not, please give us the ability to use the old system again.

I like the new system. Even when multiboxing ( 3 clients ). I don't have problems. Now it's true that I have 3 separate installations of the game, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not, but for me it's fine, and a great addition to the game.

It's a bit more of a pain to update patches using 3 separate installers ( 4 if you count my singularity install ), but really it's not that bad.

That's cool. You have every right to like it. All that's being asked is that those who either don't like it or cannot easily accommodate it be given the choice to turn it off.

+1 for an option to turn it off. It really makes me ill.

And I'm also someone who hasn't posted here before but logged in to make this comment. CCP's replies on this subject have been disappointing. Count me in as one of the folks willing to unsubscribe from Eve unless this is fixed.

i cant even count to 3 before the jump is finished. maybe you people getting sick should just blink a few times or close your eyes for a couple of seconds. im all for options but other stuff needs fixed way before this does Smile

What a fine response!

dev know how many had it with shaky camera while warping and therefore gave us the option to turn it off. Now, for us this gate aninimation without an option to turn it off. This to me is completely incomprehensible!

But I'm going out from devs answers and come back here every week (hope dev come to their senses quickly) and update my definitely still great dissatisfaction for not having an option to turn off this animation.

This really just seems like another one of those things CCP threw glitter on without putting much thought into it...

An ugly stripper is still an ugly stripper no matter how much glitter she puts on. This one just happens to make certain people sick from looking at her.

Its pointless and adds nothing to the game for me.

Reading the thread, it seems its not the warp tunnel, but the camera rotation prior and after the jump that Is causing problems.

Our current plan is to leave it as-is for a few weeks and then see if it's still bothering people. It's very hard in advance to separate the things that will annoy people for a week and then stop being an issue from the things that will persist in annoying people forever. If you look at the initial feedback for the new font, for example, there was a near-riot when it was deployed - but if you go back and look at the old font now it's horrible.

I can save you the time on this one... Its a very nice animation, it really is.
But an option to turn it off, is an absolute must.
There are periods of time where I do long roams, 50 jumps easy, and sometimes every day.
This very nice animation becomes very unbearable after a while. I sincerely want to turn it off already, please allow me to.

Some way to speed up, skip, whatever the forced camera control would do it for me. I like the animation but not the rotation, takes too long.

For me, it's actually both. They just play very well upon each other. Think of it kind of like the way a roller coaster is set up that has a slow, smooth curve in it right before plummeting you down a hill. They are made that way because the two factors amplify each other.

like i said.
do something about the sudden, uncontrollable camera movement, and you fix the motion sickness issue.

without the camera movement, you have the same effect as warping though a planet. and i have never seen a thread about removing warp effects.

And I will say this one more time (this makes eight now). You don't HAVE to see the tunnel animation of warping through a planet. If you are zoomed out to a high degree and looking from an angle that isn't behind the ship, almost all of the movement from warp cannot really be seen. You just see wispy "space wind" lines. If they want to allow complete camera control during gate jumps that would let me do this, great. However, I am sure an animation off option would be much easier.
