Dont get me wrong, yes I dont like ppl doing these ddos attacks but when it comes right down to it, ccp is a very public creature and should expect these things( have plans for it )
That said, we ( the players ) cant do much more then trust their word that it actually was a ddos attack...

Last time we got 50k SP for what seemed like a minor thing, this time around it was rather massive so I expect to see the reimbursement go up too.

So they get a DDoS attack, the devs have to work through the weekend on top of getting ready for a new release tomorrow, and you are worrying about some kind of perceived right to some sort of compensation?

I mean this in the most sarcastic and humor filled way I possibly can, some people are walking around with too many teeth in their mouth, and someone should take care of it for them.

I would be very happy if we got no more than 100 (one hundred) skill point in reimbursement - that would create the best kind of eve drama IMHO...
Also, thank you for your hard work getting everything back up and running! :)

You... you what?

You stayed up all night for us. You gave up your weekend for us. You updated twitter every 3 hours for us. Your coffee pot valiantly died in the line of duty for us.

You don't need to apologize to us; You need a nap, a raise, and a new coffee pot.

Thanks for the hard work.

There will be compensation for this 100%. We lost game time and in some cases sp from not have a que filled. Also some players might have lost ships. All of these issues are not the fault of the player. And while not CCP fault per se, we were not giving any warning about emergency shut down or given any chances to fill que or dock ships, so with that said you can bet on getting 100 k sp

All I can say is .. this is the most awesome community evah. Also, the Razor alliance announcement on FB during the downtime was epic. Epic game with an epic community, nuff said.

Well done CCP, it's a pleasure to see that you let us know wht was going on. It wasn't every 5 minutes but you had teh decency to say this is broken and will take hours yet. There is nothing worse than silence.

To all the whiners, it was a good day yesterday. When did you last top up you vitamin D, Jita's sun doesn't provide UV light through a Station's Hull.

I see soo many people b*tching about being compensated.... for 24ish hours of downtime... really? really? So based on the fact that this was in no way CCP's fault, plus that fact that they worked very hard to bring everything up online as soon as they safely could you are bitching because you might of had to go outside for a day... get your priorities stright. people worked on this for a day straight so you could play the game. If a bank is down for a day (website, atm) do they compensate you? If a store is closed due to power outtage do they comp you?

Quit your bitching and fly!

Could you kindly give us the email address of those responsible, or invite them to eve.
That way we all get a shot on killing them in a safe normal fashion.
And maybe just maybe they will kill us.

Nah they would be able to kill most of us.

2 problems with that.

1- Your subs pay for your game time, so ccp are failing to give the service they are being paid to provide. Possibly a case for refund or game time to cover it, but personaly i think thats going OTT and a gesture of good will is enough. Yes when companies fail to provide the service they are charging you for they offer a partial refund or some sort of compensation, been there several times with virgin when there network has issues.

2- My toon ran out of skill training while it was under attack so i couldn't log in as i planned too, so im at work now, unable to get online to set a skill going, so i'm goign to effectivly loose 24 horus fo training time. Not huge amounts in the grand scheme, but im still down on what i should be.

I do agree there's alot of people out for free stuff, but for me as long as i can get the SP i've missed out on allocated as free xp I wont be too bothered.

Dealing with a DDOS attack is a big issue.

Thank you, CCP, you did a great job. Thanks for the people behind the scenes working a very long day, fixing things and enable us to play Eve. I have the highest respect of you guys.

Hopefully, you guys were able to collect data which helps getting a hand on the attacker(s).

Anway, great job!

how do you know it wasnt their fauilt?
They say it wasnt their fault but thats what they say, it can just as well been a ccp worker who lost his/her brain.
in the end we are paying for a service, which was not accessible.

I agree.. I'm not asking for the world, just to be compensated so I might still get my skilltraining in before the skillchanges would be nice, and wouldn't cost CCP anything...

I don't want an extra day or anything, just that my carefully planned skilltraining is going to work out as I planned it.

I also know that this wasn't CCP's fault, I know they worked hard, I know there were casualties (the coffeepot). And I appreciate the hard work they've done... (I can Imagine their Sunday was as screwed as mine if not more) but reimbursing lost SP isn't exactly the skin of their back, now is it?

all props to CCP team for what they've done (and they are still doing) regarding that, plus this coffee pot deserves a medal, too.

I have a pay account and have for a while. As with anything (especially online) their is some inherent risk to down time. All i am saying is that a lot of the time **** just happens. I guess i am just tired of hearing about people demanding free hand outs. instead of looking at it from the POV of well **** i cant play a game for a day...

It's in the EULA and that's the bottom line guys.

But having come to Eve from other MMO's that care little to none about the community past getting their 15 a month it's refreshing to see a well tended game like this. Even before CCP released the statement that they would look into what kind of compensation players would be getting for this, I knew they would provide a good will gesture because of my limited experience with the new launcher roll out.

Trust me, this is a decent company that actually seem to care about the community, there are way worse ones out there that could be running the show, and the size, longevity and quality of the player base is testament to that.
