Repair.exe allowed the launcher to finally work, but I question the value of this new one. The password field doesn't get focus after opening the launcher, and it takes longer for me to get into the game now than it did with the previous launcher.

I don't see any benefit in this new launcher.

Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

/c

This works

Works for me too! Thanks Cribba

worked for me, too.

Got my main to work some how, after an hour as for my alts, I cannot reproduce what I did so forget it. Going to watch TV. Hopefully there will be a fix in the near future. At this time only 30k players on and usually recently there is 50k. So I'm guessing there are huge problems for a lot of folk.

Could we have an update from CCP please?

if you want to skip the launcher in general, or if you want to play now that this update borked up the launcher :)

Thanks, this seems to work. I was about to unleash all my rage. EvilEvilEvilEvilEvilEvil

This seems to work for now indeed.

the link http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt works for me but the https://client.eveonline.com/launcherv3 doesn't works and keeps loading without showing enyting.

This is where I put my signature, right?

I got 3 months spending £31 and then not having the ability to actually play the game that I paid for as a new player I'm not impressed one bit. Great game too bad they don't test their products fully.

Chribba to the rescue....his download worked for me. Thanks!

It is completely ridiculous that the only working solution has to be provided by and end user

CCP still has not learned to communicate. Assign a single person to sit in this thread and respond to every single user who posts - you could call him 'CCP Punchingbag'. They don't really need to say much of any use other than "yes, we hear you and we are sorry." They could make some self deprecating jokes, maybe award people a new item 'launcher.exe' for lols, or run some in game item giveaways to pass the time. It doesn't get much functionally accomplished but the PR value would be a lot better than this experience has been. A situation like this with this user base requires constant communication.

Upvote for you. You actually understand the problem!

YOU CAN GET AROUND THE LAUNCHER.

I just logged in after having the same issues.

First - Run the repair tool

Second - Navigate to and run the following EXE - CCP\EVE\Bin\ExeFile

This worked for me. It's a shame that the rollout of the new launcher was, ahem, less than successful - but reading all the whining and griping has been very amusing. Thanks!)

WE'VE DISCOVERED A TREND WITH MAKING THE BIN FILE WORK! You need to have a hard line connection for your internet connection...wireless internet users have not been able to effectively utilize this workaround

What was wrong this the old Launcher? Why waste time with this type of thing? And the worst part, the dam thing doesn't even work properly....

Stop using the launcher. Read backwards in this thread for several solutions.

And stop using the Launcher.

Have I said to stop using the Launcher yet?

OH, and you should probably STOP USING THE F'ING LAUNCHER.

So if I can't log in during the next 15 hours (of which I plan on spending 8 hours asleep) does that mean CCP will compensate me for my lost training time, as I can't set another skill going until tomorrow evening after work?

F**k, forgot about that! I have 28 minutes left to update my skill queue. CCP get it fixed please!

I have just eaten a delicious biscuit whilst calculating how much everybody who is upset could expect to receive as a refund. Potentially 33 pence a day on the most cost-inefficient plan or the amount you could find down your sofa right now while waiting for the repaired goodness.

My refund can go towards buying something for someone or something who/that needs it.

Like a couple of these here delicious biscuits. :)

Get http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip, unzip in eve folder, start bin/ExeFile.exe - be happy. The server still seems dead.

Filing a bug-report will only fill your inbox with thoussands of the same issues. All these posts should be sufficient proof, that the problems arent local or isolated. The launcher dosent launch for many of us. So I guess the best solution would be for CCP to buckle up and reprogram or correct the issues.
The bugs seem to have a common connection issue, in different forms. Maybe its just a simple script-error or other mundane things?

I like Progress, but at times you need to have plan Bs in place for using the old system, untill the new stuff actually work.....

Just out of interest: How many are logged in atm?
