Not claiming to have a fully working fix here - but it worked for me patching up my other computers so if anyone want to try go for it.

http://eve-files.com/temp/eve-update-20130521.zip (it's the files that got modified for me today, 50mb)

Copy and while launcher will still most likely fail, start the exefile.exe straight from the \bin folder.

On your own risk ofc but worked fine for me.

Else many suggested running repair.exe which seems to work in some cases.

This works

Works for me too! Thanks Cribba

This worked for me too!!!! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN CRIBBA!!!

Adding my voice to the "It worked! Thanks!" chorus. There are still about 31,000 people in-game, so this isn't affecting everyone.

It worked yup. Just unrar the zip file into your Eve folder, and launch exefile.exe.

It Worked qudos for you my man!!!

It has a nice Eve icon, never had to use the launcher before why start using it now?

Stop bitching about a piece of unneeded software that bloats the Client anyway?

GUYS NO NEED TO USE LAUNCHER !!

SEARCH FOR "ExeFile.exe"

Run ExeFile.exe And never worry about the launcher again!!

Until CCP nerf that method!

Because it's not working either?

CCP,

Why don't you just tell your customers to go **** themselves? It's gotta be way easier than making an update that basically says the same thing.

how to by pass errors: create shortcut from repair.exe |||

right click on the shortcut and open properties |||

add this to your launch file/directory to the end of repair.exe |||

(1 empty space) --safemode || it will look like this directory/repair.exe --safemode ||

launch the shortcut, after repair go to eve/bin dir and launch exefile.exe

this worked for me and 3 other guys from corp.

fwiw, the (new) launcher now is working properly (for me, on 3 Windows computers, for 4 different accounts).

ETA -- it wasn't -- I had most of the problems described here. But I tried the launcher again just a few minutes ago, and from here, the problem seems fixed.

Nothing working here...not on Windows, not on Linux...

Offline mode or a white launcher is thrown at my face...

If it works someday, how am i supposed to log in my multiple accounts?

I don't even have a browser associated with wine in Linux...

?????????????????????????????

This minor update is an incredible pain.
I can only connect to the second of the links the dev posted, launcher leaves me in the we can not find the server limbo so many others have had happen to them.

Repair run as admin did not work
Spamming the relaunch button did not work

Going into the /bin directory and launching the exe file manualy did work.

Thanks for finaly giving me the impetus to just ignore your launcher all together CCP as I have created a shortcut to the following file and will bypass your launcher all together from this point forward.

Note this is on a windows 7 PC.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe"

Dear CCP.
Ty for resetting all my channels and my entire client. It's been a long time since i wanted you to do it for me, especially with a stupid launcher change, wich should have nothing to do with it. I enjoyed setting this all up once again, while flying trough Nullsec. Since we all know you enjoy to nerve people, like a lot of other idiot nerds playing this game, i presume you happy now.
Oh, i know it was non-intentional. But also deffo know you guys enjoyed it.

I would have thought that CCP would have some experience with the whole "online" thing by now. This is rather abysmal.

Finally in - after 25 attempts to get repair tool to even run, 2 failed completions of repair tool, and finally having to run command line with the --safemode option (how many customer will know how to run command line, navigate to right folder, etc etc??).

10K+ downsize in current EVE population says a lot of customers are still in serious troubles....

Now to start on the Steam based installation - with serious trepidations...

Hmmm,, WTF happened? I cant seem to launch EVE at all... Nothing happens.

I get no error message, just a quick sandtimer for loading for 1-2 sec, and nothing happens.
It happened right after I downloaded that last patch......

*edit*

Oke lol... that "exefile" thing does work... well I can login now atleast.
Seems we can load EVE this way -> C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe

Secondly for those getting the offline mode webpage from within the EVE Launcher, this is because the EVE Launcher is timing out when attempting to connect to our webservers. We're currently looking into why the webservers aren't responding in a timely fashion, and hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

May I humbly suggest that, in the future, you leave your users a chance to "Launch Anyway", instead of stating "Your Internet isn't working, go away" while the user is very explicitly aware that everything is fine with his connection?

Also, webservers might just be set up to handle forum and web traffic, and not the peak rate of connections from hundreds of thousands of launchers restarting after update, compounded by angry restarts. Just an idea. Could occur to anyone.

Can't run launcher, "No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher."

Can't skip launcher and run exe  file, "Incompatible (Protocol)"

Can't run repair tool as admin, "Errors occurred"

I have the same problem.
I thought I'd try to start EFT to play with some fittings, and it showed a server error of course.
However, I clicked on the little "see details" magnifying glass, and this is what I got:

"General Error: Scotty the docking manager heard you were talking **** about him behind his back and refuses to service your request."

At least I know why I can not connect now, unlike all you guys.

second try:)

Restart your Router and after it is up again restart your PC to get a fresh DNS Table.
